1 Cabrini Athletics Year in Review The Blue and White captured the overall, men s, and women s CSAC President s Cups in Cabrini is the only school to sweep all three awards and has now accomplished the feat three consecutive years. The Blue and White has also claimed the overall title four straight years and 10 of the last 15 years. The Cavaliers have now won 32 of the 58 awards since the program began in Cabrini s women s soccer team continued its CSAC chapionship run, claiming its fifth consecutive conference title with a 1-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy. Since , there have been 12 teams to win five consecutive CSAC championships. Among those, seven championship runs have been made by Cavaliers, including the Blue and White s 16 consecutive CSAC men s lacrosse titles. Cabrini s 255 studentathletes earned a 3.2 grade point average during the academic year, a jump from the 3.06 average during the academic year. Thirteen of the Cavaliers athletic teams boasted at least a 3.0 grade point average during the year. 7 The Cavaliers completed a banner year in , raising seven CSAC crowns. The Blue and White won titles in women s basketball, field hockey, men s and women s lacrosse, men s and women s soccer, and volleyball. Since the inception of the CSAC/ PAC in , Cabrini has won 107 CSAC, PAC and AMCC championships, four times more than any other school in the conference By the Numbers 9The Cavaliers boasted nine CSAC Players of the Year in Alijah Broadnax (men s tennis), Kaitlyn Cooper (women s soccer), Evan Downey (men s lacrosse), Kerry Anne Farrell (field hockey), Cassidy Koenig (volleyball), and Sasha Wozniak (women s lacrosse) claimed the top honor, while Jess Breuning (women s lacrosse), Ryan New (men s soccer), and Jess Giordano (softball) were named Defensive Players and Pitcher of the Year, respectively. 101 The Cabrini men s lacrosse team continued its dominance of the CSAC, as it extended its conference win streak to 101 games. The Cavaliers went a perfect 7-0 in 2016 and claimed its 16th consecutive league championship. The Blue and White will enter 2017 just one win shy of tying the NCAA record of Cabrini student-athletes claimed 99 all-conference honors in The Cavaliers corralled 35 First Team accolades and 37 Second Team honors from the CSAC and AMCC. The Cavaliers also boasted 30 all-region awards and nine All-America award recipients in men s lacrosse and volleyball. 169 Cabrini studentathletes claimed 169 academic awards in More than 125 Cavaliers earned spots on the Fall and Spring CSAC Academic All-Conference Teams. Multisport student-athlete senior Dana Peterson was named CSAC Female Student-Athlete of the Year and the league s nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.

4 Fall 2015 Men and Women s Cross Country Head Coach: Joe Dare (joe@cabrini.edu) The Cavaliers built confidence early in the season, scoring a pair of top-three finishes at the Penn State Brandywine Invitational, including five top-10 individual finishes. The Blue and White competed against the top Division III teams in the country at the Paul Short Run and Inter-Regional Border Battle leading into the CSAC Championships. Freshman Andrew Sennett and sophomore Emily Lauziere led the Cabrini men and women to a pair of sixthplace finishes at the league meet. Sennett finished 10th at the championship event, earning All-CSAC Second Team honors, while Lauziere paced the women with a 15 th -place finish. Freshman Mike Feraco s 19 th -place finish also led a trio of Cavaliers with top-30 finishes. Field Hockey Head Coach: Jackie Neary (jn722@cabrini.edu) The Cabrini field hockey team topped Gwynedd Mercy 2-1 to claim the program s third CSAC championship and first title since The Blue and White posted a 12-9 overall record, including six conference victories. Along the way, head coach Jackie Neary joined the exclusive 200 career win club. Senior Kerry Anne Farrell was named CSAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, as she moved to the top of Cabrini s career points, goals, and assists rankings. Classmates Tiffany Phillips and Jen Webb also earned All-CSAC First Team honors among eight All-CSAC honors for Cabrini. Senior Danielle Palatano, junior Kylie McDevitt, and sophomore Jess Tennett were named to the All-CSAC Second Team, while senior Gabby Glenning was named to the CSAC Sportsmanship Team. Men s Soccer Head Coach: Rob Dallas (rld722@cabrini.edu) Cabrini returned to the top of the CSAC, raising the program s ninth crown and first since 2012, with a 2-1 win over Marywood. The Cavaliers closed the season with a overall record, including in league play. Junior Ryan New was named CSAC Defensive Player of the Year and was joined by classmates A.J. Bishop and C.J. Serratore and sophomore Ben Roda on the All-CSAC First Team, as the Blue and White received 11 All-CSAC awards. Bishop, Roda, and junior Bobby Kane garnered NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region honors, while New was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team and the NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Team. Women s Soccer Head Coach: Ken Prothero (kprothero@cabrini.edu) The Blue and White continued its CSAC championship run, claiming its fifth consecutive crown with a 1-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy, becoming the first women s soccer team in league history to accomplish such a feat. The Cavaliers extended their CSAC unbeaten streak to 31 matches en route to an overall record, including in the conference. Senior Kaitlyn Cooper became the program s third consecutive CSAC Player of the Year, and joined junior Jess Breuning with All-CSAC First Team accolades to lead seven All-CSAC honors for the Cavaliers. Fellow seniors Meghan Martin and Dana Peterson earned All-CSAC Second Team awards, while Cooper was also named to the NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic First Team. Women s Tennis Head Coach: Carol White (Carol.A.White@cabrini.edu) The Cavaliers made their fifth CSAC Tournament appearance in the last six years before ending the campaign with a 10-9 overall record. The Blue and White claimed the No. 4 seed in the postseason tournament by virtue of an 8-2 league mark. Senior Nicole Broccolino was named to the All-CSAC Second Team after going 9-1 in league matches. Fellow senior Terra McHenry and junior Elena Conway also received All-CSAC Honorable Mention for their singles play, while the duo posted a 6-4 mark in doubles action, claiming Honorable Mention. After assisting the club in 2015, Assistant Coach Carol White was elevated to the Head Coach in June Volleyball Head Coach: Eric Schaefer (es727@cabrini.edu) Cabrini continued its run atop the CSAC standings, as it claimed its sixth CSAC title in seven seasons. The Cavaliers ran their conference win streak to 37 matches, posting a perfect 11-0 record in league action. The Blue and White closed the season with a record after making its sixth NCAA Tournament apearance. Senior Jen Grenauer, junior Christine Ingargiola and sophomore Nicole Sokolovich joined 2016 CSAC Player of the Year senior Cassidy Koenig with First Team All-CSAC honors to lead nine all-conference accolades. Koenig and Ingargiola also earned American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention, becoming the progam s second and third players to receive the honor Cabrini Athletics Year in Review
5 Winter Men s Basketball Women s Basketball Head Coach: Tim McDonald (tim.mcdonald@cabrini.edu) Head Coach: Kate Pearson (kap723@cabrini.edu) The Cavaliers made their eighth consecutive appearance in the CSAC Tournament semifinal, falling two points from returning to the title game. Second-year head coach Tim McDonald led the Blue and White to a final record, including 13-5 in conference play. Sophomore Tyheim Monroe claimed a spot as one of the nation s top players, as the sophomore led the nation in rebounding and posted an incredible 27 double-doubles in as many games. Monroe earned All-CSAC First Team honors, while classmate Jair Green nabbed Second Team accolades. Monroe, who became the second CSAC student-athlete to amass more than 400 rebounds in a season, also garnered a slew of regional and national awards, including U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Week. The Cabrini women s basketball team made CSAC history, as it became the first women s basketball team in conference history to claim four consecutive titles with its victory over Neumann. The Cavaliers boasted a overall record, including 13-3 in the CSAC, making their 10th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Blue and White ranked in the top 20 in Division III in rebounds, offensive rebounds, turnovers, turnover margin, and steals, as the program raised its ninth league championship. Senior Meghan Martin was selected to the All-CSAC First Team and was rewarded for her efforts with Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and D3hoops.com all-region accolades. Classmate Dana Peterson was named to the All-CSAC Second Team. Men s Swimming Women s Swimming Head Coach: Cindy Ikeler (cikeler@cabrini.edu) Head Coach: Cindy Ikeler (cikeler@cabrini.edu) A young Cabrini men s swimming team continued to establish itself in the Allegheny Mountain Athletic Conference (AMCC), as the Cavaliers placed third in the annual championship meet. Junior Todd Walker paced the Blue and White, finishing second in the 200-yard backstroke, while setting a pair of school records and qualifying for the ECAC Championships. Senior Sean Tallon and freshman Ryan Hagan also joined Walker with All-AMCC Second Team honors after placing second in the 1,650-yard and 50-yard freestyles, respectively. Walker represented Cabrini at the seasonending ECAC Championships, where he set school records in the 200-yard butterfly and freestyle. The Cavaliers women s swimming team fell just shy of a second AMCC title, finishing second overall, placing in the top two in 15 of the meet s 20 events. Junior Christina Melchiorre claimed the AMCC title in the 100-yard freestyle for the third consecutive year, while freshman Brooke Hagan claimed victory in the 200yard butterfly. Freshman Marissa Loro and junior Allie Stein also joined Melchiorre and Hagan to claim the league s 800-yard freestyle relay title. Loro was also named the AMCC Rookie of the Year to lead 16 All-AMCC honors for the Blue and White, marking the fifth consecutive year that a Cabrini swimmer has received the accolade. 6 Spring 2016 Golf Men s Lacrosse Head Coach: Tony Verde, PhD (tverde@cabrini.edu) Head Coach: Steve Colfer (scolfer@cabrini.edu) Cabrini boasted 10 top-five team finishes and a total of 23 top 10 individual finishes in Junior Joe Myers claimed victories at the Swarthmore Quad and Ursinus Spring Invitational, while freshman David Gall earned the top spot at the Eastern Spring Invitational. The Cavaliers closed the campaign with a third-place finish in the 2016 CSAC Championships, as junior Dan Gentilucci and Gall finished sixth and eighth, respectively, to earn All-CSAC Second Team recognition. Sophomore Megan Savage and senior Ally Fiorelli also competed in three women s golf events, with Fiorelli closing her career at the first-ever CSAC Women s Invitational. Cabrini s men s lacrosse team continued its reign atop the CSAC, claiming a 16th consecutive league title with a 21-6 win over Gwynedd Mercy and extending its CSAC regular season win streak to 101 games, one victory short of tying the NCAA record of 102. The Cavaliers scored wins over No. 5 Dickinson, No. 9 Ohio Wesleyan, and No. 10 Stevenson, while taking No. 3 RIT and No. 5 Gettysburg to overtime en route to a 15-5 overall record and a No. 16 final USILA ranking. Junior Evan Downey and freshman Jordan Krug claimed the league s Player and Rookie of the Year honors, respectively, to lead 15 all-conference honors for the Blue and White, while the club also earned seven All-America awards. Women s Lacrosse Head Coach: Jackie Neary (jn722@cabrini.edu) The Cavaliers continued their dominance of the conference, topping Neumann to claim the program s fifth consecutive CSAC championship and 15th title in the program s 20 years. Cabrini s successful campaign continued into the NCAA Tournament, scoring a win over Meredith for the program s third NCAA Tournament victory, before ending the season 14-9 overall and a perfect 9-0 in league play. Sophomore Sasha Wozniak and junior Jess Breuning were named the league s Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively, while Head Coach Jackie Neary was named the CSAC s top coach for the 10th time. In total, the Blue and White claimed a total of 11 All-CSAC awards in Men s Tennis Head Coach: Stephen Parker (Stephen.J.Parker@cabrini.edu) Sophomore Alijah Broadnax continued to make his mark on the CSAC men s tennis scene. One year after being named the league s top rookie, the sophomore was named the conference s Player of the Year and joined doubles partner junior Sean Jaeger with All-CSAC First Team honors. Broadnax led the conference with six league singles victories, while his eight overall wins ranked among CSAC leaders. As a duo, Broadnax and Jaeger boasted a 5-1 mark in CSAC matches, tied for most wins in the conference. The Blue and White struggled to find its footing in 2016, closing the season with a 2-13 overall record, including 2-5 in CSAC play. Softball Head Coach: Sammy Thompson (sthompson@cabrini.edu) The Cavaliers continued to develop into one of the league s top teams, as they returned to the CSAC championship game for the third consecutive year before closing the season 25-18, including 19-3 in the league. Sophomore Jess Giordano was named CSAC Pitcher of the Year and joined classmates Christine Ferraro and Emily Smull on the All-CSAC First Team. Cabrini earned a total of nine All-CSAC accolades, while Ferraro was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region First Team.
