LifeBeat Stress Tracker is a system that lets you track your activity, sleep, and especially your various stress levels, so that you can improve your life and stay healthy. It consists of a band worn on your wrist plus an app on your smartphone. Can LifeBeat be used when the ios/android phone is not accessible? LifeBeat can be used to record 5 days worth of activity and heart health data even when not connected to a smart phone. This data can later be synced to the ios/android App later when the phone is accessible. When should LifeBeat be worn on the wrist? LifeBeat should be worn during daytime as well as night time as it can record activity levels as well as sleep patterns. Do I need to take LifeBeat off while taking a shower? LifeBeat is waterproofed to IPX7, which means it can definitely be safely worn while taking a shower. In fact, taking a shower is a relatively significant activity, and is meaningful to be included in your activity data. How long does the battery last? The battery life depends on usage pattern (e.g. how many times a day measurement is done). Typical usage pattern (3 daily measurements, each of around 30 seconds) would provide battery life of about 5 days. When to re-charge the battery? LifeBeat displays an indicator for Low battery level. When this is displayed, the battery should be charged, or, if convenient for you, you can charge each day.

2 What is Factory Reset? Factory Reset erases all the data from the band and initializes the state of the band to be same as it was shipped from the factory. Factory Reset can be done by plugging the module into a powered USB and pressing and holding down the button on the band for 30 seconds. Is the Data maintained when the band battery is completely discharged? Data is stored in Flash memory in the band and it is maintained even when there is no power/battery. In case of completely discharged battery, you can re-charge it and Sync it with the phone which would transfer the maintained data from the band to the App/Phone. Can I measure HR while doing exercise? For accurate HR readings, you should be still and not move while the measurement is in progress. If you are exercising, stop momentarily and record HR keeping your arms still. You can resume exercise once the measurement is over. How should I take measurements? You should take measurements only when sitting still, at a desk, with your phone on the desk. Don't be moving around, and don't try to take measurements in other environments, such as in a running car. What is Sleep Quality? Sleep Quality = deep sleep / (deep sleep + light sleep) What is Heart Age? This algorithm uses the user s actual physical age as a base, and depending on the value of user s cardio parameters like HR as compared with data from population studies, it outputs a computed Heart Age value. What is Active Time? The Activity Monitoring algorithm utilizes data from a three-axis accelerometer sample, and is used to estimate a variety of output metrics for the detected motion states of sedentary, walking, and running. Active Time = walking time + running time

3 What is Distance? Distance traveled rely on activity state and resulting step count. User profiles is used to calculate distance(based on step length & height).the distance calculation covers the active motion conditions: Walking and running. Distance reports the distance traveled by the user while walking or running, based on the step length and height parameters set in the user's profile, and detection of walking and running conditions. STRESS What is Stress? Stress is a bodily or mental tension resulting from threat or challenge that tend to alter an existent equilibrium. What is "Overall Stress"? Overall Stress is a holistic, personalized aggregate of several metrics which contribute to what we typically think of as Stress. It is primarily calculated from three main components: 1)Heart Stress is stress response which is the reaction the body makes to a threat or challenge, as determined from your HR measurements. 2) Mind Stress is stress feeling which is the level of stress you mentally feel. It s a process of cognitive and affective evaluation of a threat. 3) Our Sleep patterns are considered in your Overall Stress, where lack of sleep negatively affects your Overall Stress, and more quality sleep reduces your Overall Stress. You should aim to maintain your stress below 'red' levels, and continuously monitor your Overall Stress levels over weeks and months to observe your trends and control your personal health and wellness. What is "Heart Stress"? Heart Stress is stress response which is a measurement of your body s reaction to Stress Feeling resulted from a threatening event or challenge. It is calculated based on your HR measurements from the band, and normalized against population data. Note that the Mind Stress is based on subjective impression of user while the Heart Stress provides an objective reading of the body s biological reaction to stressful event. Why would I want to track my activity, sleep, and stress levels?

4 Everyone wants to live a healthier, more active lifestyle. It makes us feel better about ourselves and our lives, and get more done during the day. With an objective measurement and tracking system, you can finally objectively tell whether you are actually meeting your goals, or whether certain behaviors in your life are actually holding you back. My Stress Levels are staying green. What should I do? Keep up whatever you're doing! Keep taking measurements regularly, so that you can spot if your stress levels ever start increasing due to your lifestyle. Don't rely on only a single measurement here or there, you need frequent and regular measurements to properly see your meaningful TREND. My Stress Levels are red! What should I do? Don't panic. Customer Service, and we can look more closely at your data. Use the button in the Help menu of the app, or send an to gavin2.chang@fubon.com. Are the Stress Measurements accurate? Yes, please see the descriptions of Overall Stress and Heart Stress detailed above. If I take multiple measurements in a row, the values can sometimes vary by a lot...if I only take a measurement infrequently, once or twice a day, how can the Stress be accurate?... It is more accurate and more intelligent if you take measurements more frequently. If you only have very few, sporadic measurements, it can only provide you a vague approximation of your Stress for the day, week, month, etc. TROUBLE SHOOTING How do I connect the LifeBeat band to the Phone? LifeBeat uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for wireless connection to the phone. First, make sure that Bluetooth is turned ON in your phone s Settings. DO NOT select the LifeBeat band itself if you see it in the phone's Settings, however! Instead, you should use the "Sync" feature from within the LifeBeat app to connect and pair your band. This recommended method uses a two-way handshake with security token and will make sure that even in the presence of other bands/devices around the phone, the correct band gets properly paired to the phone. Once the band and App/Phone are paired/connected, this information is stored both in the phone/app and the band so that subsequent connections can be automatically established between the two.

5 For some phones, if app can t connect band all the time, please try to pair it in the phone s BT list firstly, then try to connect again. Why does the app show "Sync fail"? Make sure the band nearby. Try to switch phone s BT. If still does not work, try to reboot band. If still does not work, try to reboot phone. Why can't the app start measurement? First, make sure the band is not already set to mode (i.e. can cycle through and show the time). Next, after clicking the Measure Now button, make sure the band shows a heart icon on the band's display. If it doesn't, it may be because you are wearing the wrong band or the phone was previously paired to a different band than the one you are wearing. If it still can t start the measurement, try to toggle the phone's Bluetooth and reboot the band, as described above in 'Why does the app show "Sync fail"?'. Why does the measurement always get interrupted? Please make sure your finger has good contact with the metal sensor on the band. Also make sure you are not pressing too hard on the sensor. Your finger should only be resting lightly on the sensor. Lastly, you can try to moisten the finger and then start to record again. How can I power off/on the band? Power OFF: Press and hold the button for 6-8 seconds, and you will see the display cycle through SLEEP -> POWER -> OFF?. When you see "OFF?", immediately release the button and lightly press it again. The band will power off. Power On: Press and hold the button for 5 seconds, the band will show LifeBeat on screen. How can I reboot the band? Press and hold the button on the band for 10 seconds. You will see the band cycle through SLEEP - > POWER -> OFF? -> REBOOT. When you see "REBOOT", immediately release the band button.

6 How can I reset band? Plug the band into a powered USB port, and then press and hold the button on the band for about 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the display will show RESET?. When it does, immediately release the button and lightly press it again. The band will show WAIT, clear its internal memory, and after about 5 seconds, it will be reset and show LifeBeat on the screen. Why are the STEPS/CALORIES/DISTANCE shown on the band different from the values shown in the app? In the app, click the SYNC button from the menu. After the data is synced from the band to the app, you should see the same values on both. Why is there such a difference between the Distance shown in the app from the distance I actually walked/ran? First, please make sure you input your accurate height in your Profile settings in the app. Then, after you sync, the band will calculate distances based on your step length, which it will calculate based on your height. Why is the "Steps" number displayed on the Dashboard different from the step counts displayed in the graph? The data shown in the graph is delayed by about 1 minute, compared with the number shown in the dashboard. After finished syncing, why the Step/Distance/Calorie/ActiveTime/Sleep has no detail data? Make sure the syncing is successful; Do not manually change clock; When cross TimeZone, the data will miss for that day. Why is my Heart Age showing 0? First, make sure you have filled in your Profile accurately in the app's Settings. Also, make sure the signal is good during your measurements. (See "Why does the measurement always get interrupted?" above). Why is the app not showing my Overall Stress level?

7 The Overall Stress needs sleep time and two HR measurements in order to be calculated. Look for the 1, 2, 3 circles on your app Dashboard, and click them if any of them are not checked off (meaning they have not been completed). I have recorded 2 data, but why does the app still not show my Overall Stress level? You may not have synced your data from your band to your phone app, or you may not have input your Mind Stress values yet. In your app, open the menu from the top right corner of your Dashboard, and click the SYNC button. When the sync is complete, click the "Overall Stress" button from your Dashboard to go to the Overall Stress graph, then click the Journal button, and input the corresponding Mind Stress level(s). Then back to Stress Dashboard, and your Overall Stress level will show on the dashboard. In the Do Not Disturb mode, why my band still could receive notifications? In the Do Not Disturb mode, app only could block incoming call. It doesn t include others message. Can the ios platform and Android platform use each other s data? According to Apple s regulation, the ios and Android versions are calculated independently, one account can not be used on ios and Android platforms at the same time. If you need to use our APP on other platforms, please re- apply for a new account. Why my lifebeat can not be searched by the ios app? Make sure your Lifebeat is turned on. If your lifebeat has been connected to the APP before, please release the bond of the Lifebeat in the phone s Bluetooth list, then go back to the APP to start the search again.
