DRIVING IN JUNCTIONS 1 / 14 Order of the traffic situations are very simple. Do all training in e-autokoulu and theory test training in ajokaista.com. Driving in junctions Driving order Equal Yield sign Traffic lights Round about Priority direction Railway crossing Tram B9 Training -material WATCH ORDER OF THE TRAFFIC VIDEO page

DRIVING IN JUNCTIONS 2 / 14 Driving in junctions: 1. Recognise the junction White Street name sign, pedestrian crossing and other traffic signs helping to find the junction. 2. Slow down So that you have good possibility to observe. Especially when you to turn (max km/h). 3. Observe - Traffic controllers - Other road users - Also check situation behind you 4. Driving lines Choose correct Driving line. 5. Driving order You have to know correct right of way already when you drive near to the junction. 6. Desicively cross the junction When you make decision to drive don t hesitate. White Street name sign reveal the junction

DRIVING ORDER 3 / 14 Most of junctions in Finland are Equals. Often there is a Give way sign for somebody and places where is heavy traffic you can find Traffic lights Equal junction > Un-equal junction > Give way -sign Traffic lights > Round about > Priority direction > Today Round about is very popular junction type and some where you can find special junctions where Priority direction is marked with traffic signs. In Equal junction you must give way traffic from Right. Here you have to yield the silver car. Give way -sign

DRIVING ORDER - EQUAL 4 / 14 Normally there is no any traffic sign to warning of Equal junction. You have to give away all traffic from Right side, no matter where they will drive. Also size of carriage way doesn t change anything, if it s a road. If speed limit is 40km/h or less, prepare for Equal junctions. In Espoo we have Equals when limit is 30km/h and there are no bus-route on the street. Red car can drive first There might be Dangerous junction warning sign, if speed limit is 50 km/h or junction is dangerous

DRIVING ORDER GIVE WAY 5 / 14 When you have a Give way -sign (also know as Yield -sign), you must give way all traffic on main road. So junction is un-equal. Yield traffic from your Right and Left side. No matter where they drive. You have to give way also for cyclists and all other vehicles on main road or cycle road. White car have to give away for red car Give way -sign indicate, that you have to give way all drivers on main road

DRIVING ORDER GIVE WAY When you drive on main road, it s might be difficult to recognise Give away -sign from behind. You can only see grey Tringle. But unlike warning signs, sharp vertex point to the ground. Warning sign from behind Give way sign from behind 6 / 14

DRIVING ORDER STOP 7 / 14 When you have Stop -sign, you have to stop although there are no any traffic on the road. Make sure that your car stand still for 3 seconds, before you can drive. Correct place to Stop is on white Stop -line. If there are no any line or it s under snow, you must stop on place where you can see traffic well. Always stop before pedestrian crossing. On Stop -sign, you have to give away traffic from right and left side. Here the Red car can drive first. Stop on the white line

GIVE AWAY FOR LIGHT TRAFFIC Notice the cyclist behind the red car. Both drivers have to give way for him 8 / 14 When you turn to right or left, you must give way for light traffic users (pedestrians, cyclists and mopeds). No matter if there s pedestrian crossing or not.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS 9 / 14 When you get green light you may continue. If turning to left you have to give away for on coming traffic. Also you have to give way for pedestrians and cyclists after the turning. When you turn left, you have to give away for oncoming traffic. Green light. If you drive straight, you don t have to give way for any one

10 / 14 TRAFFIC LIGHTS ARROW LIGHT Some junctions there might be extra arrow for turning. Up picture: you can turn to right and no need to give away for anyone. Down picture: you can still turn to right, but now you must give away for light-traffic users. Green arrow - traffic light: you don t have to give way for cyclists or pedestrians

ROUND ABOUT 11 / 14 When drive in to Round about, you must give away for those who are already driving there. Use signal to right when you leave the Round about. When you join to round about it s not necessary to use signal. Grey minivan can drive first You always have a give way sign when you drive in to round about

12 / 14 PRIORITY DIRECTION Priority direction White car is driving from priority road, so he can drive first. If you turn to left, you can drive now. Red car from right do have Give way sign.

13 / 14 RAILWAY CROSSING With out barriers With barriers Single-track railway level crossing Douple-track or multi-track railway level crossing Level crossing ahead Check trains always by your-self!

14 / 14 TRAM You must always give way for the Tram in Equal junction. No matter is on your right or left side. If there s no traffic sign Tramway lane, you can drive on the tracks. You have to always give way for tram
