Students to walk in controlled lines on the footpaths or areas as directed by the teacher. Remain on pedestrian pathways and utilise pedestrian crossings at all times SUPRVISION: Child not supervised and is lost or abducted from venue. Catastrophic/ Unlikely to occur Staff s ach school and their staff are responsible for their own students. This includes all students and parents who accompany their school. Police called immediately if security is breached. Watching and waiting for events- xposure to sun, wind, rain and dehydrations ikely to occur at catastrophic Participants and staff s ncourage students to follow sunsmart policy Seat children under the shade areas provided Schools to be seated under sheltered areas around the courts Schools to bring extra shade tents if necessary Remind children to drink fluids Page 2 of 5

All athletes must be competent to compete in their activity. Follow stadium rules Brief participants on rules and behavior at the commencement of the carnival Teachers to fully supervise their students es/no First Aid officers on hand at all times?? Ambulance access to stadium. Use of courts Inspection of Weather Conditions Hot weather Wet weather/storm / ikely to occur at some stage ikely to occur at inor teachers/ volunteers/ SACPSSA staff All equipment (netball balls & bibs) are provided by each participating school. All equipment is in line with SACPSSA guidelines & inspected by schools prior to commencement of the carnivals. Condition of the courts to be assessed by site & carnival coordinators each carnival. SACPSSA Supervisor to check with Weather Bureau website for weather warning prior to event. If storm threatens SACPSSA Supervisor will cancel event. School to provide water provisions for heat. H to make decision 24 hours prior to event event postponed/cancelled if inclement weather. Sunscreen and hats required and provided by SACPSSA for assisting staff and volunteers. OVNT IN AND AROUND TH STADIU: Court areas Inside courts & surrounding areas Access/ gress easily accessible in the event of fire or inor / ikely to occur at inor teachers / site The courts will only be occupied by competitors & officials Spectators around the edge of courts are to keep walkways clear Indoor courts must only be occupied by competitors and officials when scheduled to play Clear signs to XITS bring to attention during briefing. ntrance/xits must be clear of equipment at all School will provide first aid kits and asthma packs. Identify any current controls in place e.g. scaffolding, ergonomic furniture, amplification systems, etc Decide if the existing controls are effectively controlling the risks, answer es or No. Rate each risk using the Calculator, which is located below the risk assessment table (inclusive of current controls). Include any new or additional controls. the risks. Authorised person to sign the form. Note that if a task etc is performed many times it is only necessary to conduct the one risk assessment unless the task or any circumstances change.
