1 Participant Information and Application Form Come be a part of the 70th Annual historic tradition to thrill spectators, especially our children, with the old fashioned spirit of magic and fun that is the Mother Goose Parade. We are enthusiastic about this year and hope you will enjoy all the exciting added touches we have made. This year s theme HOMEGROWN Celebrating local traditions, culture and everyone Homegrown The following information is to provide you with details of the requirements, rules, and regulations to participate in the Mother Goose Parade. Please read this entirely before completing the application. We hope you will find this information helpful and that it answers all your questions. Application Submission and Acceptance Applications for the Mother Goose Parade are now being accepted and must be received in our office no later than September 1st (postal stamp mailing dates will not apply). Late entries will not be considered. PLEASE NOTE / IMPORTANT: Considerations related to the parade length and purpose has created limitations of participants necessary. Therefore, entries will be considered on a first come, first serve basis. Not every entrant will be allowed participation. Please complete the application, in its entirety, print, sign, and mail with requested materials. Requested material will not be accepted without a completed application form. Submitted materials and applications become the property of the Mother Goose Parade Association. Do not leave any blank lines. If there is no answer to a question, please write N/A (not applicable). It is very important to answer all questions with full answers, no abbreviations. Any person under 18 must have parental permission to participate and parent must fill out consent form) Fee (must be submitted with application)

2 Rules and Regulations Always the Sunday before Thanksgiving Once you are notified that you have been selected to participate in the parade, we will provide you with all the information necessary for parade day. Please read the following rules and regulations carefully, as they will be strictly enforced. Non compliance will result in elimination from this year s parade and possible future participation. Deadline Applications must be received in the Mother Goose Parade office no later than September 1st. Late entries will not be accepted. Notifications will be sent out via or mail. Approval All Entries will be approved by the Mother Goose Parade Committee as applications are received, but no later than October 5th. Please remember, it will be first come, first serve so get your application in now. Script Script information will be used for publication purposes and is due with your application (no exceptions). The Mother Goose Parade Association has the right to alter the script to make it more entertaining and informational within the word count allowed. ANY CHANGES TO YOUR SCRIPT MUST BE MADE IN WRITING NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 1st, Please make sure you receive confirmation in writing that the change was made. The Mother Goose Parade Association is not responsible for any requested changes not received and confirmed in writing to participant. No political or entries making a social statement in script (or) in the physical entry will be accepted without prior approval from the parade committee. Age No one under 12 years of age is allowed to participate in the parade without supervision of an adult over the age of 21 if walking or riding. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a signed consent and release form signed by a parent or guardian to participate. Arrival and Dispersal All participants must arrive no later than 11:00 a.m. on parade day (unless otherwise instructed in writing prior to parade day). You will be informed of your assembly location and line up prior to the parade via mail or . Assembly Areas / Parking All streets leading into the assembly areas will be closed approximately 10:45 a.m. to through traffic. We will make special provisions for your 11:00 a.m. arrival into the area. Vehicles will not be permitted into the Assembly areas without a vehicle pass. There is absolutely NO parking in the Assembly areas. All inappropriately parked vehicles will be towed away. There is no parking allowed on the parade route all vehicles parked on parade route will be towed. All "No Parking" areas and red curb zones remain off limits, and vehicles in violation will be subject to impound. DO NOT block the emergency vehicle lanes. Please remain in your assigned area until your are instructed to enter parade route. Please keep your area clean. Parade Pacing All entries will be required to keep thirty feet (30 feet) distance between you and the participant in front of you. All entries will be assigned to a particular Chapter or section of the parade. Periodic stops will be made along the parade route. These stops will be governed by the grandstand performances, and are for stand in place performances only while the selected performance in front of the grandstands and televised viewing area are in progress please keep waving and interacting with the spectators during these stops NO OTHER STOPS ARE ALLOWED. DO NOT perform any type of actions that would endanger spectators along the street. Motorized vehicles shall maintain a sufficient clearance

3 from spectators so as to assure proper safety standards. Alcohol/Drugs or other Illegal Substances are not allowed prior to or during participation in the Mother Goose Parade. Possession, use or consuming of alcoholic beverages/drugs or other illegal substances will not be permitted in assembly and dispersal areas, or along the parade route. No one will be permitted to enter the parade under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any illegal substances. Solicitation and Throwing of Materials is prohibited. ABSOLUTELY NO SOLICITATION, of any kind, without prior written approval by the Board of Directors, is allowed in the assembly and dispersal areas, or along the parade route by any parade entry or third party. For safety reasons, DO NOT throw items of any kind. This includes candy, gum, novelties, or other materials. These rules and regulations are to ensure that everyone attending the parade, whether a participant or spectator, has an enjoyable, accident free day. If you are handing out candy or any other pre approved item you must walk up to the spectator and hand it to them. We are here to help you complete your part successfully so you can enjoy the wonderful parade we have planned for you and all our visitors. In consideration of the acceptance of this application, the individual and/or group agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend against any action against the Mother Goose Parade Association, its employees, and officers, from and against all liabilities whatsoever arising out of its participation in the Mother Goose Parade and all related activities.
