Let the guard know who you will be seeing and they will contact that individual. Riverside Dr (Highway 51) Office Woodward Ave. Safety & Attire Policy Safety is a core value at Fairbanks Morse. Please help by adhering to the following safety rules: ANSI approved safety glasses with permanent side shields must be worn at all times in the manufacturing, warehouse, kitting, maintenance buildings or other shop work areas. This includes all aisle ways in the shop and when individuals are entering or leaving shop buildings. (FME will provide) ANSI approved steel or composite toed work boots or shoes are required to be worn at all times. (FME will provide) Head protection (i.e. bump cap) is required for all visitors, and contractors. Hard hats are required for all overhead bridge crane and rigging operators. With or without head protection, when an overhead crane is in use, it is required for all pedestrians to avoid the area altogether or be as far as possible but no less than feet away from the crane load. (FME will provide) Hearing protection is required in all of Large Engine and OP Freeport Bay Engine Test by both employees and visitors at all times. When Engine Test Stands are in operation, anyone on the test stand is required to wear double hearing protection. Any other areas requiring protection will be posted. (FME will provide) Long pants must be worn throughout production buildings. Neckwear such as scarves and ties must be tucked inside shirt or removed. Legs must be fully covered by pants from the waistline down to the ankle in all work areas. Shorts, cut-off pants, or nylon style athletic pants are not allowed. Tank tops, open net, or sleeveless shirts are not permitted anywhere in the shop. A shirt must be worn that covers to the neckline. Shirts must have sleeves that extend at least 3 down from the shoulder toward the elbow and cover the underside of the arm pit. Loose clothing must be secured. Shirts that fall below wrist level must be tucked in. Long sleeves must be secured (i.e. buttoned, elastic banded) with no more than 3 of slack. Loose shirts or long shirttails must be tucked inside of pants. Approved lab coats may be worn when zipped or buttoned. If aprons are necessary, they must be breakaway capable. Any items attached to belts must be tightly secured, and able to be easily removed should it become necessary. Shirts may remain untucked for only those work activities where a greater hazard is created by tucking in a shirt. Jackets are acceptable but must be zippered or buttoned, and strings removed or tucked in. No hoodies around rotating equipment are permitted. Hair must be secured in an acceptable manner above shoulder length at all times. Hair longer than shoulder length must be secured above the shoulder, in a manner that prevents it from coming into contact with hazards. Beards and facial hair (longer than 4 ) must be closely cropped or contained to avoid the risk of entanglement. All jewelry, such as but not limited to: rings, watches, bracelets, wrist wear activity trackers, necklaces, earrings or exposed piercings (other than studs) must be removed. Open gages must be plugged. Electronic ear buds and headphones (other than FME two way radio communications or other company issued headwear) are not permitted. Wallet chains or other loose dangling chains must be removed when in the manufacturing area. Medical alert necklaces are permitted, but must be tucked inside of the shirt. All non-fme or EnPro employees dedicated to FME Beloit shall wear yellow high visibility attire (HVA) such as a bump cap or arm band. When FME employees are in a designated area that requires HVA or are performing an activity that requires wearing HVA, the HVA preferred color is orange. The orange painted floor area of the loading dock in the Distribution Center is a designated area that requires everyone in that area to be wearing a HVA. FME identification badges (for FME employees, visitors, and contractors) should be on your person at all times, preferably visible. If lanyards are worn, they must be the type that easily breaks away. Badges must be tucked inside shirt or in a pocket when in the manufacturing area for safety reasons. When conducting group tours, all visitors will be required to wear all necessary PPE. All tourists should obtain a copy of this policy in advance of their visit in order to be prepared.
