5 No Right on Red CITY OF VANCOUVER ACTIONS Action Task Start Complete Notes Review No right on Red control on Broadway east bound, turning right on to Lakewood south bound. Alternatively install a curb bulge on the SW corner of Lakewood and Broadway. Spring 2016 TBD The City will install a pedestrian countdown timer at this intersection to improve comfort. No right on Red not recommended. Curb bulge will be reviewed if funds are available. No Right on Red Address Pedestrian and Cycling Conflicts Review No right on Red control on Victoria Dr north bound, turning on to Broadway east bound Review design and function of Central Valley Greenway at Victoria Dr. Currently there are pedestrian & cyclist conflicts within shared spaces. Consider increasing green paint on Broadway west bound at Victoria Dr to increase awareness of cyclists. Spring 2016 Complete Not recommended. Consult ATB Longer Term Solution Interim spot improvement solution with potential date to be defined. Longer term solution will require changes to Central Valley Greenway, coordination with Translink station upgrade, plans for Commercial Dr and Grandview Woodlands Community Plan development. Parents may lead a paint project here.

Attend the vicinity of the school during drop-off / pick-up times to monitor parking Perform speed patrol to enforce speed limit on Broadway, Victoria Dr and E.12 th Ave.

Continue to promote positive newsletter announcements that support and encourage this behaviour. Promote walking and cycling as a preferred option at the annual Kindergarten Orientation. Highlight HASTe s school travel planning program, and some of the improvements this has brought. Invite VPD to give pedestrian safety presentations to school. Encourage staff and teachers to incorporate walking and cycling into classroom curriculum activities (tour and trips, etc). Invite TravelSmart to facilitate a 90-minute workshop to grade 6 & 7s. Register and participate in a Fall iwalk or Walk & Roll Week visit for details.
