2 Summary of Youth Consultation Results All (60) pupils within Years 1 & 2 (6-8 Years) classes at Bottesford CE Primary School were invited to take part in a short session looking at the things that they liked, disliked and would like to see improved within Bottesford Parish. The session took the form of a facilitated group discussion, with their collective key issues being recorded. Group Discussion Likes: Things that participants like about Bottesford Parish which were raised within the short group discussion include: The School The Open Spaces Lots of paths The old and new buildings The Church The train station to get around Shops Coffee Shop Everyone is friendly Like the Spar and Co-op The Rutland Arms for children Little Jacks Farm Baptist Church Area around Church Old Victorian houses Park next to Skate Park is best Parks and playgrounds Wooden Trails and Monkey Bars on park behind Co-op The village hall for discos The equipment on park next to Skate Park Chinese takeaway Village Hall Countryside Hooper s Close Play Area Dislikes: Things that participants dislike about Bottesford Parish which were raised within the group discussion include: Difficulty getting across road because of cars half parked on pavement near school Can t get buggy passed parked cars, near garage Cars parked near Spar shop, difficulty crossing Too much traffic Getting lost Litter and dog poo Litter around the Spar shop, empty bottles and crisp packets Litter and broken glass around the Skate Park 1

4 YOUTH QUESTIONNAIRE The RCC developed the following questionnaire with input from members of Bottesford Youth Council. Members of the Youth Council and all pupils within Year 3 & 4 / 5 & 6 (8-11Years) Classes at Bottesford CE Primary School and pupils aged at Belvoir High School that resided within Bottesford Parish were invited to complete the Youth Questionnaire. The questionnaire asked about what they liked and disliked about living in Bottesford Parish followed by questions on traffic and transport, buildings, facilities, activities, communication and ideas to improve Bottesford Parish in the future. Youth Questionnaire Results: A total of 221 young people completed the Youth Questionnaire, the results of which follow.
