Right here in Ohio, 210,000 people are living with this progressive disease, which is devastating our families, our finances and our future. As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer s care, support and research, the Alzheimer s Association addresses this global crisis by providing education and support to the millions who face dementia every day, while advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Alzheimer s disease is the 6TH leading cause OF DEATH in the United States Alzheimer s disease in Ohio Serving 17 Counties Greater East Ohio Area Chapter Approximately 210,000 people are living with Alzheimer s. There are more than 597,000 Alzheimer s and dementia caregivers. Over 680 million hours of unpaid care are provided for people living with Alzheimer s and other dementias. The Alzheimer s Association Walk to End Alzheimer s is the world s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer s care, support and research. We re asking your organization to help lead the way as an event sponsor. 7 PROMISE GARDEN SPONSORSHIP The Alzheimer s Association Walk to End Alzheimer s features the Promise Garden a mission-focused, hands-on experience that encourages participants to raise flowers representing their promise to remember, honor, care and fight for those living with Alzheimer s disease and their caregivers.
