1 2014 PA Resident Survey Purpose: Understand outdoor recreation patterns and opinions regarding future recreation land conservation, facility development and management Provide a snapshot of where Pennsylvanians are at with respect to outdoor recreation We used TAC input to select/revise questions for the 2014 survey

3 Survey Methods Mail/internet survey of Pennsylvania Residents Sample of 1,500 from each of six DCNR planning regions as well as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Total sample = 12,000 adult residents Response = 2,240 completed surveys (@20%) Data weighted to adjust for regions and sex/gender

5 Respondent Profile Average age was 59 years and 92% were white 55% reported household incomes between $20 - $79K 57% lived in a suburb or town, 17% were from the city, and 26% were from a rural area These results are very similar to the previous survey, except for age (average age - 55 years in 2009)
