3 THE FC DALL AS FOUNDATION IS THE CHARITABLE ARM OF FC DALL AS AND TOYOTA STADIUM. THE FOUNDATION STRIVES TO POSITIVELY IMPACT THE HE ALTH AND WELL BEING OF UNDERSERVED YOUTH THROUGH SPORTS. 4 FC DALLAS FOUNDATION OVERVIEW All funds raised support the Foundation, which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with activities that focus on the Foundation s three main pillars. 3 PILLARS HEALTHY LIFESTYLES EDUCATION CHARACTER BUILDING 2017 FOUNDATION REPORT 7

5 PITCH DEVELOPMENT HEALTHY LIFESTYLES A project to build well-lit mini-pitches and sport courts in low socio-economic areas that provide safe playing environments and facilitate active lifestyles in local youth. By partnering with local youth programs, these mini-pitches are maintained throughout the year. COMMUNITY ACTION GRANTS A program to give $10,000 in grants to local nonprofits with a similar mission to affect the health and well-being of underserved youth through sports. HARPER FUND SCHOLARSHIPS An effort to scholarship children to play recreational soccer through a partnership with the Friends of Rob. THE GEAR UP PROJECT A project that collects new and gently used soccer gear to distribute to those in need locally and globally. EDUCATION STEAM ACADEMY A program that administers the STEAM education initiative at the National Soccer Hall of Fame Experience. EDUCATION INVESTMENT A commitment to support education through short projects focused on STEAM in underserved schools. CHARACTER BUILDING FC DALLAS SPECIAL OLYMPICS (FCDSO) A partnership with Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) to build a team that competes at home and away matches with other MLS affiliated SO teams. The teams compete unified, which joins players with and without cognitive disabilities to foster social inclusion through the sport while also teaching respect and teamwork.

6 PITCH DEVELOPMENT The FC Dallas Foundation, along with its partners, have built six mini-pitches in Dallas, Plano, and Denton. In 2017, the Foundation, with CoServ and Southern New Hampshire University, dedicated a mini-pitch at Strickland Middle School in Denton, home of the G.O.A.L. (Guys and Girls Operating As Leaders) program. Paxton Pomykal at Strickland Middle School

7 COMMUNITY ACTION GRANTS The FC Dallas Foundation granted $10,000 to four organizations and their health related initiatives. Organizations that benefited from the inaugural year of grants were 6 Stones - La Liga HEB, Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas, Jubilee Park, and Refugee Services of North Texas. 6 Stones - La Liga HEB Jubliee Park

8 FC DALLAS SPECIAL OLYMPICS SUPPORTED BY GLOBE LIFE In the program s fifth season, a unified team of athletes and partners signed their three year contracts with FC Dallas. The FCDSO team participated in weekly practices, a training session with the pro team, a scrimmage against FC Dallas staff, and a marketing day. They lost their first match against Philadelphia in August, but returned to Toyota Stadium to win against the NY Red Bulls Special Olympics team. Members of the team are chosen for special appearances during the season, including representing FC Dallas at the Special Olympics Unified MLS All- Star match FC Dallas Special Olympics team

9 COMMUNITY OUTREACH OVERVIEW The FC Dallas Community Relations Department administers various outreach initiatives in cooperation with other departments to raise brand awareness while also doing good in the community. COMMUNITY CLINICS COMMUNITY APPEARANCES DONATIONS MILITARY MLS WORKS PROGRAMS

10 COMMUNITY CLINICS PRESENTED BY TOYOTA For almost a decade, FC Dallas has hosted community clinics around the area. Thanks to presenting partner Toyota, with associate partners Al Dia, Chase, and MoneyGram, 900 children benefited from clinics run by our players and coaches in 2017.

11 COMMUNITY APPEARANCES Community appearances have always been a large part of the outreach of FC Dallas. In 2017, the team visited various hospitals, participated in the Principal for a Day program in DISD, and read aloud in several classrooms. The team also hosted a children s choir from Uganda and chronically ill children at practices over the season. 12 COMMUNITY OUTREACH MILITARY FC Dallas reaches the military by partnering with various groups to recognize veterans and active military at matches as the Toyota Hero of the Match. MLS WORKS PROGRAMS The club is involved in Soccer Kicks Cancer to raise awareness for childhood cancer month; the MLS Community MVP award to recognize an outstanding volunteer in the community, and the Unite.Volunteer. Serve. program to send FC Dallas players and staff into the community to volunteer. DONATIONS FC Dallas gives tickets and memorabilia to nonprofits to help them raise funds.

14 FC DALLAS FOUNDATION & COMMUNITY OUTREACH $80,000 in tickets and memorabilia to support local nonprofits fundraising efforts $27,000 to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts $24,000 given to partner organizations such as the Dallas Fallen Officers Foundation, American Heart Association, Frisco Family Services, and Get Kidz Fit Fest $14,000 in gear such as balls, pennies and cleats to local groups and those globally in areas such as Africa, Haiti, Guatemala, and Uganda $4,000 in donations to eight schools as part of the CoServ Teacher of the Month program 5,000 Canned goods worth $2,500 have been donated to the North Texas Food Bank courtesy of Champion Waste 17 active and retired military honored at FC Dallas home matches

15 2017 FUNDRAISING EVENTS Over 500 guests helped kick off the season while raising $20,000 for the Foundation at Cocktails & Cleats presented by Chase. The event recognized the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Champions, as well as unveiled the new 2017 secondary kit to FC Dallas fans. The Friends of Rob hosted the Texas Shootout benefiting the Harper Memorial Fund in October. This annual event brings clay shooters together to compete for a cause with proceeds allowing for scholarships for local recreational soccer leagues. This year s event raised $30,000. The Footy 5k presented by Vazata hosted 400 runners at Toyota Stadium to raise $15,000 for the FC Dallas Special Olympics Team. To support the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, Toyota Stadium hosted the Houston Dash and Seattle Reign match in early September All proceeds, as well as raffle revenue, were directly donated to these efforts. In partnership with My Possibilities, over 1,500 participants enjoyed the Santa Run presented by Dr Pepper Snapple Group in December, raising over $40,000 for both organizations. Along with events, the support of corporate partners, in-game auctions, individual donations, and other fundraising efforts allow for 100 percent of the funds raised to benefit foundation programs.
