4 PREFACE The official Rulebook ('Rules') of the National Collegiate League of Legends League (NCLL) is provided to protect each student-gamer and ensure that a standard level of sportsmanship is met among the schools participating in the league.

5 OFFICIAL NCLL RULES 1 General 1.1 Spirit of the Rules Rule Changes The National Collegiate e-sports Association (NCeSPA) reserves the right to make amends to the rules without prior notice. NCeSPA also reserves the right to make judgement to the best of their ability on scenarios that are not specifically detailed in this rulebook in order to maintain fair play Finality of Decisions All decisions made by NCeSPA officials are final. Decisions cannot be appealed and shall not give reason to claim for monetary damages or other legal or equitable remedy. 1.2 Code of Conduct All National Collegiate League of Legends League (NCLL) participants agree to behave appropriately towards other participants, spectators and staff at all times. 1.3 Match Broadcasting All broadcasting rights of the NCLL are owned by NCeSPA. This includes but is not limited to: video streams, 3rd party replay files, and TV broadcasts. Participants or any other 3rd party may not stream any match unless given permission by a NCeSPA staff member. 1.4 Communication The primary communication method is . NCeSPA will contact participants via the school which the participant registered with. Therefore, the participant s must be checked regularly for any updates regarding the league. 1.5 Participation Requirements The following conditions must be met in order to participate in the NCLL. Proof of the following conditions may be requested for player verification at any point during the season:

6 1.5.1 Age All participants are required to be over the age of Location All participants are required to be present in North America throughout the season Academic Status All participants are required to be enrolled as full-time students at any four-year higher education institution in North America. This includes students in both undergraduate and graduate studies Game Account All playing participants are required to have a ranked League of Legends account that is in good standing with Riot Games Playing With Wrong Game Accounts Under no circumstance should a playing participant play his/her match on a different game account than the one provided at the time of registration. Failure to adhere to this rule may lead to a penalty on the player, a default loss, a rematch, or team disqualification Nicknames/In-Game Names An alias may not include vulgar or derogatory terms Professional Status A participant may not take part in the NCLL or any NCeSPA-sponsored events if s/he is a current professional League of Legends player. This includes, but is not limited to, LCS players Roster Composition A full roster is defined as: 1 Team Manager 5 Starting Players 2-5 Substitute Players Each team must submit a roster card which identifies the starting lineup, substitute players, and all LoL summoner names. A new roster card must be submitted if a team wishes to permanently promote a substitute player to the starting lineup. A team must notify NCLL officials of any substitutions for a match before the designated match start time.

7 1.6 Prize Money All prize money should be paid out within 60 days of the conclusion of the NCLL season. If a team is missing proper payment information during this time and makes no effort to fix this, the prize money will not be given out until it is rectified Prize Distribution for NCLL Division I 1st Place $5000 2nd Place $3000 3rd Place $1500 4th Place $ Prize Distribution for NCLL Division II RP and skin prizes will be available for participants in Division II Withdrawal of Prize Money As long as the prize money remains unpaid, NCeSPA reserves the right to cancel any pending payment if any evidence of foul play is discovered. 1.7 Penalties For Leaving The NCLL Withdrawal during any stage If a team leaves or is disqualified from the NCLL during an ongoing stage, the team forfeits all registration fees and/or prize money for the whole event Player Bans If a participant gets disqualified from the NCLL during an ongoing stage, his/her team is required to use their substitute(s) to take the place of the disqualified participant. If no substitute is available, the team may choose to play a man down (4 vs. 5) or to forfeit the remaining games. 1.8 Match Setup Punctuality & Scheduling All matches should start as stated on the released schedule. Any changes in the time must be accepted by both playing parties as well as the league administration. All playing participants in a match should be on the game server and be ready to play 10 minutes before the scheduled match time.

8 1.8.2 Delays For any delay that exceeds 15 minutes after the scheduled match time, teams may be penalized as the administration sees fit. This may involve a team being forced to start the match without the full lineup or to concede the game. 2 League Format 2.1 The Game Map Pool The NCCL Official Map is the Summoner s Rift 5x Winning Conditions The game is played until a winner is determined by one of the following methods: Destruction of Nexus Enemy team surrenders Enemy team disqualified Enemy team forfeit Failure to be ready at the designated match time may result in a disqualification or penalty. Any substitutions must be reported to NCLL officials before the pre-match setup block Game Overview Game Start Teams will meet in the game lobby at the designated match time. If a team fails to field a team 15 minutes after the designated start time, that team must either choose to play the game with the players available or forfeit that game. Once both teams are in the lobby and have confirmed they are ready, the NCLL official will approve the start of the game Picks and Bans Picks and bans will be completed according to LoL s Tournament Draft mode. In the case that a restart is needed, the current picks and bans will be recorded to be carried over to the remake. A restart may be required during pick/ban phase if a team chooses a proxy champion as a result of a player not owning the desired pick.

9 Game Pauses NCLL Officials may pause the game at any time. Players may only pause a game immediately following any of the events listed below, and must be approved by an NCLL official immediately after pausing. Each team may utilize 15 minutes of the pause timer. A. Unintentional Disconnection B. PC issues C. Physical interference with a player The game may not be resumed until clearance is given from an NCLL official Schedule NCLL may, at its sole discretion, make any changes to the NCLL schedule. In the event that this occurs, the affected teams will be notified as soon as possible. 2.2 League Divisions Skill Level In terms of skill level, the NCLL is divided into two divisions: Division One : Team members must have an average rank of Diamond 5 or above. (21+ points) Division Two : Team members must have an average rank between Gold 5 and Platinum 1. (11-20 points) Ranking System Team ranking is determined by taking an average of each player s rank given the following point system: Challenger: 35 points Master: 30 points Diamond 1: 25 points Diamond 2: 24 points Diamond 3: 23 points Diamond 4: 22 points Diamond 5: 21 points Platinum 1: 20 points Platinum 2: 19 points Platinum 3: 18 points

10 2.3 Stages Platinum 4: 17 points Platinum 5: 16 points Gold 1: 15 points Gold 2: 14 points Gold 3: 13 points Gold 4: 12 points Gold 5: 11 points Silver 1: 10 points Silver 2: 9 points Silver 3: 8 points Silver 4: 7 points Silver 5: 6 points Bronze 1: 5 points Bronze 2: 4 points Bronze 3: 3 points Bronze 4: 2 points Bronze 5: 1 point The NCLL is separated into two stages: Regular Season During the regular season, each team will face each opponent in their region twice in best of two matches. The home team will choose team sides. Because each team plays every other team twice, both teams will have the chance to be home team. Playoff matches will be decided by coin toss. Regions will consist of 5-10 teams and will be determined after registration has closed. Teams will earn points based on their performances in each match. A 2-0 victory results in three points and a 1-1 tie results in one point for each team. Season standings will be determined by the number of points that a team has, which will be used to determined the seeding when entering the playoffs Seeding & Tiebreakers The seeding of the teams during the regular season will be determined first by season points. If two teams are tied in season points, their seeds will be determined by the results of their head-to-head matches during the regular season. If the teams are also tied in head-to-head record, then the teams will play in a best of three tiebreaker match Playoffs The NCLL playoffs uses a single-elimination bracket format. That is, the loser of a match at any stage in the playoffs is knocked out of the tournament. Matches will be played in Best-of-3 or Best-of-5 series depending on the stage of the playoffs.

11 Quarterfinals (Best-of-3) Semifinals (Best-of-5) Grand Final (Best-of-5) 3 Live Events This section details rules and guidelines pertaining to any offline event hosted by the National Collegiate e-sports Association. 3.1 Punctuality Every participant is expected to report to the event venue at least 60 minutes before their match to prepare for their match and solve any technical issues that might arise. If there is a scheduling conflict for the participant, s/he must report to tournament officials as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in a penalty for the whole team. 3.2 Equipment The National Collegiate e-sports Association only provides computers and monitors. Participants are required to bring their own peripherals, in particular: keyboards, mice, mousepads, and headsets or in-ear headphones. NCeSPA reserves the right to perform checks on any piece of equipment brought by a player to ensure fair play. 3.3 Attire Participants are expected to dress appropriately for the event venue. 3.4 Gaming Areas Conduct Unless otherwise stated, participants are not allowed to bring or eat any food in the designated gaming areas. Smoking is strictly prohibited. All mobile phones should be switched off or put in silent mode. Exaggerated loud noises and/or offensive language is forbidden, and may be punished accordingly Administrators The instructions of administrators or any other staff member of NCeSPA should always be obeyed. Failure to do so may result in penalties.

12 3.5 Stage Matches Each participant is required to play his/her stage match(es). Exceptions may only be granted if substantial evidence (e.g. a medical certificate) proving a disability to play on stage is provided. 3.6 Removable Media It is strictly forbidden to connect or use any removable media on the tournament computers without prior examination and approval by the tournament administrators.
