1 Bernie Mullane Sports Complex Futsal competition rules & Terms and Conditions Participants of the Bernie Mullane Sports Complex Futsal competition are advised of the following rules and regulations of play. Please read our terms and competition rules, once read each player must print and sign their names that they understand and will comply with Bernie Mullane Sports Complex Futsal Rules of competition. We would like all participants (players, coaches, managers and spectators) to play by the rules in a spirit of fair play. Please do not address a referees, team members / opponents, spectators and/or centre staff in an insulting and/or offensive manner. Do not engage in any violent acts, offensive language or verbal abuse towards any of the above mentioned individuals. Team registration: All teams will be provided with a link to our online competition software, which teams will need to register ALL their players (Name, , Contact number) before the competition commences. Full team game fees are due on or before the first week of the competition. We will supply your team with an invoice. We will accept cash, credit card, eftpos and bank transfers. Failure to pay full team fees on or before the first week will result in your team not being able to play and being withdrawn from the competition. Team captains are responsible for updating player details and to ensure that all players have paid their fees. No discounts on fees will be given if a BYE exists in your competition or division or if a team forfeits against your team. A friendly makeup game will be scheduled if possible. Team uniforms: Player uniforms must be the same or as close as possible in appearance. All shirts must be numbered which relates back to the team sheet. The Goalkeeper must wear an alternate, contrasting shirt to identify them from the other team members. Long pants can be worn by the goalkeeper only. ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR SHIN PADS, long socks and non-marking shoes. No jewellery to be worn while playing. 2 Forfeits: Forfeits are a part of any sporting competition. In the instance of a forfeit, points are awarded to the other team and the court is left available for training or a player organised friendly can be run. Should your team need to forfeit they must provide a minimum 3 hours notice before game time. This is to be fair to the other teams and prevent no shows. The penalty for not adhering to this minimum requirement is a loss of 2 competition points. If a team is unable to field a minimum player requirement of 3 registered players (1 must be a goalkeeper) 3 minutes after the scheduled starting time, the team will concede 1 goal. If a further 3 minutes pass and the team are unable to field the minimum requirement the team will be forced to forfeit the match. Borrowing players: If a team has five or less of their own registered players, they can borrow up to two (45 min game) players provided they are from a lower division and / or younger age competition. A borrowed player can only be used maximum three times before they must transfer fully to the team. Teams borrowing illegally will be required to forfeit their game. Injuries: Stoppage time for an injury must be resolved within 2 minutes. If possible the injured player should be removed from the court. Teams unable to resume play are deemed to have forfeited. Captains must ensure all injuries for their players are noted on an incident report sheet which can be supplied by reception. Please note that Bernie Mullane Sports Complex does not supply insurance for personal injury, on site first aid will be provided. (This is currently being investigated by centre management as to what insurance we can provide for players) Competition points: Points are awarded as follows; 3 points for a win 2 points for a draw 1 point for a loss 4 points for a bye 4 points for a win by forfeit 0 points for a loss by forfeit In case of equal points, the team placing is determined by goal difference Page 2 of 5

3 Regular competition and Final series: The regular completion will run for 13 weeks plus two weeks of finals. To participate in the 2 stage final series players must; 1. Have played a minimum of 5 games in the competition (evidence provided by 5 signatures on 5 game sheets from that competition) 2. Not currently be serving a suspension 3. Be eligible in all other aspects, eg. Correct age, appropriate uniform STAGE 1: Semi-finals consists of two games between teams in the first four positions: 1 st v 4 th & 2 nd v 3 rd. Winners of both games go straight through to STAGE 2, Grand Final. STAGE 2: Grand final is one game between winners of both semi-finals who play off for the Premier Title. Prizes (x8) are given to both Premiers and Runners Up (Finalists) Extra prizes can be ordered to ensure each registered player receives something. Extra time: (Applies to Semi-Final and Grand Final) 5 min of extra time Golden goal rule applies (team that scores first wins the match) No substitutes once extra time has started If still drawn at the end of the 5 min of extra time, a further 5 minutes is played. 2 players from each team will be removed, leaving 3 players each (1 of them being the goalkeeper) Teams must change ends, Golden goal rule still applies During extra time, injured players cannot be replaced. If a player is forced to leave the court, due to injury during the second 5 minute period, that team will lose on forfeit as they cannot field the required minimum 3 players. If the game is drawn after the 2 nd period of extra time, penalty shootout is held with 5 shots each. If the game is still drawn after each team has taken 5 penalties each, an additional shot until the winner is determined by a team s successful goal being matched by the others failed penalty attempt. Summary of Rules of the game Futsal is a 5-a-side indoor football game played at club level on a basketball sized court. Players must wear non marking soled shoes, shin pads covered by long socks and 'sport' shirt and shorts (referees can prevent players entering the court if not dressed correctly) Each team has 5 players on the court - one of whom MUST be the goalkeeper Team squads can be up to a maximum of 12 players (max 7 registered substitutes) Flying substitutions are allowed throughout the game- without notifying the referee. (G/K's should only be substituted during a stoppage in play). Page 3 of 5

4 A goal CANNOT be scored directly from a sideline kick in, an indirect free kick or a kickoff (starting or restarting a game) Other than the above point, a goal may be scored from anywhere on the court (within the necessary rules of the game). The whole of the ball must CROSS the whole of the line for the referee to award a corner, goal, goal clearance etc. There are NO offsides! Slide tackles are NOT allowed in a game of futsal by any players except goalkeepers Shoulder charging is NOT allowed. Aggressive / Dangerous play is NOT allowed. There is a 4 second time limit placed on all set plays (corners, free kicks, etc.) 5 accumulated team fouls are allowed each half (per team). Each subsequent foul is rewarded by a 10 metre penalty shot to the opposition team. To restart the game from the sideline a KICK IN replaces the throw in. Ball placed on sideline, player must have both feet on or outside the sideline. To restart the game by a GOAL (kick) CLEARANCE, the g/k must THROW the ball into play. A goalkeeper CANNOT throw or dropkick/punt the ball over the 2/3 line on the 'full'. Once distributed by the g/k (in his/her own half) the ball may NOT be touched again by him/her until the ball has either touched an opponent or has crossed the halfway line. (2 Touch) A g/k may NOT handle the ball from a back pass or kick in and is restricted to 4 seconds on the ball in his/her own half of the field of play. Goalkeepers can only slide (side on) within the confines of their own penalty area. Sliding feet first toward an opponent is illegal (dangerous play). Goalkeepers may only handle the ball within their own penalty areas ( D s) Players must retreat 5 metres from the ball at all 'set' plays. Players CANNOT play the ball whilst ( lying ) on the ground if an opponent is within playing distance of the ball. Page 4 of 5

5 Referees ALWAYS have the final say in ALL match decisions, please accept those decisions and respect our officials and the sometimes difficult work they do! (No refs, No games?) Referees control games (if necessary) with YELLOW (caution) and RED (expulsion) cards.
