Welcome to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section/Les Schwab Tires FOOTBALL Playoffs Presented by Farmers Insurance. 2. The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section/Les Schwab Tires FOOTBALL Playoffs Presented by Farmers Insurance are conducted under the strictest code of good sportsmanship. 3. The game officials are neutral persons who represent the CIF, are certified by the NCOA, and who have been selected because of their demonstrated ability. 4. The Sac-Joaquin Section and CIF welcome all athletes, coaches and fans. 6. The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section reminds its fans that good sports are always winners. 7. Congratulations to everyone participating today; you are all winners! 8. The Sac-Joaquin Section and CIF thank you for your attendance at this high school FOOTBALL playoff game today. It is hoped that you have enjoyed this competition as much as we have enjoyed having you here...as you leave today, remember to drive safely. The life you save may be your own. (The following is a message on sportsmanship. Please feel free to use it in your program.) SPORTSMANSHIP A MESSAGE TO OUR HIGH SCHOOL FANS These are high school athletes who are performing here today. They are friendly rivals as members of opposing teams. They are not enemies. This, basically, is the theme of interscholastic athletics...the idea of friendly competition. The visiting team today, and in every interscholastic game, is a guest of the home team. They are expected to be so regarded and so treated. The officials are persons who, by agreement between the competing teams, are assigned to administer the rules of the game. Their experience and their integrity qualify them for their part in this friendly interscholastic contest. This attitude of sportsmanship must be reflected by all spectators, too, no matter what their personal feelings of loyalty may be to one or the other of the teams in today s contest. INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETICS ARE FOR SPORTSPERSONS BOTH ON THE FIELD AND IN THE STANDS -8-
