We are a cmmunity-based Junir Ftball club that fcuses n gd sprtsmanship, participatin & prviding a safe, family atmsphere t all invlved. Our club is based at Windermere Reserve n Candlewd Bulevard, JOONDALUP, and has extra playing fields lcated at Falklands Park in Kinrss just next t Kinrss Middle Schl. Our players participate in the West Perth Junir Ftball Cmpetitin by way f Mdifieds: Yuth: Year 4 s thru t Year 7 s inclusive. Year 8 s thru t Year 12 s inclusive. Our NAB AFL Auskick Centre is an intra-club cmpetitin that invlves players aged frm Pre Primary thru t Year 3 s inclusive. (Players must turn 5 years by June 30) Fr club infrmatin, applicatin frms, event details and training please refer t ur website Registratin day is primarily fr NEW members wh are jining fr the FIRST time r are transferring int ur club, as all members f previus seasn shuld receive current registratin frms and infrmatin via and/r mail ut in December, this can be returned n r befre registratin day. Number f Teams Please nte that the number f Junir teams will be restricted as fllws: The ability t schedule hme games at venues withut ver taxing f facilities. The minimum number f players required fr a Team in the age grup must be satisfied. Availability f Caches and Team Managers. In the event f there being mre than ne junir team in any age grup r the number f players exceeds the maximum recmmended Team size, players will be placed in teams at the clubs discretin. After registratin day, the club may exercise its discretin t nt accept any additinal registratins nce a team is deemed t have reached its capacity. 7. Limiting the size f Teams Shuld an age grup have an excess f players as listed belw (e.g. abve the maximum number allwed) the Team may be reduced t the apprpriate numbers fr age grups prir t the start f the seasn at the discretin f the Jets ftball department and team cach/s and manager/s, Mdified s: Year 4 s Year 7 s Maximum f 20 players per team Yuth: Year 8 s Year 10 s Maximum f 25 players per team Yuth: Year 11 s Year 12 s Maximum f 28 players per team Thereby allwing any player wh is mitted t have the pprtunity t find an alternative club. All fees paid shall be refunded in full t the players in questin. If the Jets ftball department deem a team nt t be viable due t either an excess r lack f player numbers, the club may act utside these guidelines. At all times it is club plicy that where ever pssible that n member s registratin be refused r nt accepted until all pssibilities have been explred. Auskick: Year 4 7 All Auskick registratins will be accepted and allcated where ever pssible t a maximum f 12 players per team. 5 Club Registrar T d this successfully, JKJFC adpted a merit based plicy f allcating players fr teams primarily based n the players service with the Club, cmmitment t the club, aptitude fr playing ftball that the player can demnstrate. The plicy als acknwledges that enjyment and participatin are key reasns fr children playing any sprt and are fundamental t children cntinuing t participate in playing ftball. Therefre a strng emphasis is placed n retaining all players as the first pririty, and nly when n ther avenue is available, are players mitted r deregistered. Merit shall be determined by pre-seasn assessments, previus perfrmances, attitude, cmmitment and cach s recmmendatins. All players being cnsidered fr merit based selectin shall be a financial member prir t the end f the selectin prcess. The pre-seasn sessin will carry the mst weight in selectin as it will mst clearly prvide evidence f the current capability f each f the players. The perfrmance in previus seasns will be primarily based n the assessment f the ptential capability f the player by the relevant caches and/r team managers. Althugh perfrmance statistics will be used, assessment will nt be based slely n these as they d nt necessarily reflect the verall cntributin f the player t the team. Caches shall submit a Player Evaluatin t the Caching Crdinatr prir t the end f seasn n the JKJFC Player Evaluatin frm (see attached Appendix A). Attitude and cmmitment shall be a significant cnsideratin. In any team sprt it is essential that all players demnstrate a willingness t cperate and undertake activities as requested by the caches and team managers. Cntinued unwillingness t d this as assessed by caches, team managers and ther peple as nminated by the cmmittee, will be cnsidered as sufficient reasn t have the player mved t anther team r drpped frm all teams. Assessment Sessins A minimum f 3 assessment sessins shall be cnducted during preseasn training. Players are expected t attend all 3 sessins. Assessment Sessins shall be cnducted at a venue assigned by the ftball club. Assessment sessins shall be apprximately 1 hur. All players being assessed will be ntified 7 days prir t any assessment sessins. Assessrs Assessrs shall be appinted by the cmmittee and be at least Level 1 caches r therwise suitably qualified and experienced. Assessrs shall be instructed that their rle in this cntext is t cncentrate n assessment (nt caching) during this prcess. Assessrs are required t recrd a written assessment f each player using the JKJFC Assessment sheet. Assessment sheets are t be returned t the Caching Crdinatr at the cnclusin f each sessin. Player Placements The JKJFC des nt undertake grading f players, and will nt deliberately seek t make ne team superir t anther team in the same age grup by selecting the best players in ne team at the expense f anther team. Placement f players int teams will be at the sle discretin f the Jets ftball department and team cach/s, When the Club has mre than ne team in a single divisin in any pens age grup: r has multiple teams in an age grup, then the fllwing criteria will be used t make the teams f equal strength; 1. Ensure each team has an equal number f develpment squad players 2. Ensure each team has an equal number f Club Fairest & Best players 3. Ensure each team has an equal number f players that plled vtes frm umpires 4. Review team psitin n ladder frm previus year and cnsider reallcatin f players 5. Review caches assessment f players frm previus year and allcate players evenly between teams A player wishing t play in a higher age grup will nt d s at the exclusin f a member r a new member that is eligible t play in that age grup. At all times the JKJFC seeks t prvide the safest envirnment t enable registered players f the same age grup the pprtunity t gain maximum enjyment and persnal develpment. The JKJFC retains sle respnsibility fr the placement f players within a particular team within the player s crrect age grup. Between Registratin day and the cmmencement f the seasn it is the Club s respnsibility t ensure wherever pssible that any new registratins are allcated t teams t ensure team numbers are as even as pssible. 9. De-registratin/Refund Plicy De-registratin/ transfer frm the club/cancellatin by any player will require clearance frm the club. A player may be required t frfeit either part r all f the JKJFC Ftball Registratin Fee as applicable. If a player is turned away frm the Club due t a restrictin n player numbers then the entire registratin fee will be refunded. Where a player has cmpeted, up t and including rund three (3), 50% f the registratin fee shall be refunded. Where a player has played three r mre games they shall frfeit the whle player registratin fee. Where a player suffers a seasn ending injury and has played less than the first three (3) three games f the seasn they shall be refunded 50% f the registratin fee. 10. Parents Rle / Players Rle We are a nt-fr-prfit junir club and depend n vlunteers! If the club is t be successful, it needs yur invlvement. This can be anything frm gal umpiring, bundary umpiring, water running, first aid, grund maintenance, fundraising, canteen duties and setting up and packing up n game day. 7 It is the Parent, Guardian s r Player s respnsibility t ntify the club, cach r team manager f any health issue, which may affect the player s ability t participate in the activities nrmally assciated with Junir Ftball inclusive f training and matches. 11. Caches The JKJFC attempts t prvide accredited caches fr all teams. At the Auskick level, the club is interested t hear frm parents wh are willing t becme caches. In Mdified and Yuth cmpetitins, the club will cver the cst f parents required t attend the requisite caching curses. If a team has n parent t cach, the club will seek t prvide a nn-parental cach but prvides n guarantee that a cach will be fund. Caches can nly be appinted by the Club Cmmittee and will nt be appinted unless they satisfy the cmmittee s criteria including being f suitable character, having an apprpriate manner with ur players and having cmpleted the required AFL Caching Accreditatin training curse. 12. Team Managers The club seeks a vlunteer fr each team t fulfil the rle f team manager. Managers are a fcus fr cmmunicatin within and arund the team. They are als respnsible fr rganising rsters f varius team duties t be perfrmed by ther members in the team, nt just the manager. The club will prvide managers with an infrmatin manual. Team managers are required t prvide feedback t the club cmmittee and may be required t attend cmmittee meetings frm time t time. 13. Wrking with Children Check Any persn wh des nt have a child participating in Junir Ftball within the JKJFC they are required t undertake a Wrking with Children Check.
