The system will be sending automated s for various events (New Assignments, Game Detail Changes, Game Reminders, etc).your primary address will automatically get any s that need to be sent to you. If you have entered additional addresses and would like to receive automated s to those addresses as well, simply check the Auto s box next to any of those addresses. At any time, you can click the Need Help? link on the left-hand side of the page under the calendar. You only need to fill in your availability for the dates that have a blue border around them. Those are the only dates on which games are scheduled. Initial assignments are done before your availability is filled out. Your availability is used for games that need to be reassigned.
2 Instructions for the GHSA Playoff Assignment 2 Simply click a date in the calendar, and then complete the Availability form for that day. You need to specify whether you are Available or Not Available for that date. If you do not specify available for a date, you do not show up as available. Then select the times you are available or unavailable. If you are available all day or unavailable all day, click the All Day checkbox and you will not need to enter any specific times for that day. You have the option of entering a short note (visible to the assignor) to remind yourself why you are available or unavailable on that date. When finished, click the SAVE button at the bottom of the form. You can add as many Availability entries as you need. Your existing items will be displayed at the bottom of the Availability page and the dates will be shown in a different color in the calendar. If you make a mistake or your availability changes, you can delete the Availability entry by clicking Del next to the incorrect entry and add another entry. 3. Team Conflicts If you have a conflict with any of the teams that may be in the playoffs, you can enter those conflicts at the top of the page in the Game Conflicts section. Click the Add New Conflict link to get to the Conflict Maintenance page. Select a team that you have a conflict with from the pull-down at the top of the page. Then select a Gender (if applicable). Enter an explanation for the conflict in the Notes field. For additional help, click the more link in the top page. When finished, click the SAVE button at the bottom of the page. Assignments You will receive an from the system whenever you have a new assignment. Once you have been assigned to a game, you must Accept or Decline the game in order to preserve your assignment. If you have not accepted or declined the game after a new assignment has been made (typically within 24 hours), it will automatically be declined in order to allow the assignor enough time to find a replacement. If a game has been declined, you will not be able to accept that game unless you contact the assignor directly. The auto-decline timeframe may be longer than 24 hours initially but will probably be reduced as the games approach as there is a very little margin for error once the games begin. Other Notes There is no time-out feature for the website so you can leave it up as long as you would like. However, if any new features are added to the system, they often take affect the next time you log into the system. Therefore, we recommend you logout at least once each day. (It is not necessary to log out and back in to receive your assignments). Your assignments will appear on the My Games screen when published. Popup Blockers / Cookies / Spam Blockers GameOfficials.net occasionally uses small pop-up windows to present Game Details, Referee Profiles, etc. Therefore, you will need to make sure any Popup Blockers are disabled for Also, GameOfficials.net uses cookies to store session information and user-specific preferences while you are logged into the system. 11 The teams will go into a penalty kick shootout immediately after the two (2) five-minute full overtime procedure has taken place, if a tie score still exists. 1. The head referee shall choose the goal at which the penalty kicks will be taken. 2. Each coach will select any five eligible players (including goalkeeper) to take the kicks. (There is NO reduce to equate in HS) 3. A coin toss shall be held with the team winning the toss having the choice of kicking first or last. 4. Teams will alternate kickers, and there is no follow-up on the kicks. 5. The defending team may change goalkeepers prior to each kick. 6. Following the five (5) kicks from each team, the teams with the greater number of successful kicks will be given one (1) point and declared the winner. 7. If the score remains tied after each team has had five kicks: a. Each coach will select five different players than the first five who already have kicked to take the kicks in a sudden-victory situation, wherein if one team scores and the other team does not score, the game is ended without more kicks being taken. If a team has fewer than ten available players at the end of the first set of kicks from the penalty mark due to either injuries or disqualification, the coach must use all players who have not participated in the first five kicks. The coach may choose additional players from the first five kickers to ensure that five different players participate in the second set of kicks. b. If the score remains tied, continue the sudden-victory kicks with the coach selecting any five players to take the next set of alternating kicks. If a tie still remains, repeat 7-a. Remember, in high school, the players and the coach may be on the field. It is not like FIFA where the only players that can participate are the players on the field. This eliminates the need to Reduce to Equate and the need to limit the number of players/coaches being on the field at the taking of the penalty kicks. (Kicks from the Mark) Questions on Differences 1.
