Besides these 8 players, it will be up to each federation to decide whether they want to send 2 (and only 2) reserve players (1 man and 1 woman) at their own cost or at the federation's cost. These reserve players will be able to rotate with regular team members, but note that no changes of players will be allowed within the last 2 hours before each game. When issues arise regarding the nationality of players, especially for those who hold dual citizenship, please refer to the Rules on Nationality (see Annex A) and when necessary, submit each individual case to the ITSF Executive Committee. You must send to ITSF the list of the players in your national team by March 31, female players will take part in the Doubles and 1 female player in the Singles. Each national team chooses 1 table (and only one!) for the whole tournament. You must let ITSF know which table you have chosen by March 31, Tables to be chosen from are as follows: BONZINI, EUROSOCCER, GARLANDO, ROBERTO SPORT and TORNADO. Exception: if two teams playing against each other have chosen the same table, they will be allowed to choose a different table; the change of tables will have to be notified 2 hours before the teams are scheduled to play

4 General Information Roles of Team Coach and Delegate - The coach (manager/coordinator) will be in charge of making sure the team is well organized such as respecting the schedule of matches, the dress code, etc. He/she will be the intermediary between his/her team and ITSF. - The delegate (or President of National Federation) will be expected to attend all official meetings. - The coach and delegate can not be team players. Women Players - There can not be more than 2 women in the regular 8 member team (+ 1 female reserve player if the team brings reserve players). - When the 2 female players play in Doubles they have to play together; mixed teams are not allowed. - The reserve female player can only replace another woman. Travel and Accommodation - The 10 team members (8 players + coach + delegate) will receive free plane tickets to go to Hamburg and accommodation (5 nights) will be provided for them. 2 extra players (1 man and 1 woman) can join the regular team at their own cost or at the federation's cost. - Arrival day: Wednesday, May 24; departure day: Monday, May 29 - Transportation will be provided from the airport in Hamburg to the tournament location. - We need to know by March 31 at the latest the full names (clearly indicate first names and last names), addresses, birthdates and passport numbers of all team members so we can book the flights. Please choose one central airport in your country, from which team members will be flying out. In larger countries, such as Canada, China, Russia, the United States, 2 or 3 departing locations might be chosen. Reserve players - The 2 reserve players allowed for each team should check if their travel and accommodation expenses can be covered by their federation. Since each team can have its own sponsors, those sponsors might also be able to cover the extra 2 players expenses. Please remember that you DON T have to have 2 extra players, it is up to each federation to take that decision. Presidents or Delegates of non selected countries - 4 -

5 - For each of the 16 ITSF member federations that were not selected to take part in the World Cup, accommodation will be provided for 1 person per country. That person will receive free tickets to attend all ceremonies and competitions. They will also be able to attend official meetings. Other visitors - A special website will be available by March 23 at the latest, where all visitors will be able to book hotel rooms (with special fare) and buy tickets to attend the competitions. Ticket prices to attend the competitions are as follows: 6 per day on Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26 8 per day on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May for a VIP Pass for the 4 days Dress Code and Sponsors/Media - When playing (and only then), team members will be wearing a vest/jersey that will bear the name of their country and the names of our World Cup sponsors. Players will wear that vest/jersey above their "national shirts" when playing. These vests will be given to you in Hamburg. - National shirts will either be provided by each federation, in which case you are free to choose the design and colours to represent your country. And if you have sponsors for your team, their names can appear on those shirts. Please make sure that each player has a different shirt for each day (4 per players) and that the name of your country (in English) clearly appears on the shirts. These need to be professionally done. - If your federation can not (or doesn t want to) provide national shirts for their players, we need to know as soon as possible, as we ll provide these players with 4 shirts each (all the same colour with the World Cup logo and marked "player") Let us know what you want to do about national shirts by March 31 : if you need shirts, please indicate the shirt size for each player). - For other times during the competition, each federation is responsible for making sure that its team members wear appropriate clothing. A jogging suit (top and bottom) is required for all team members and the name of your country (in English) must clearly appear on the shirts. Again, names of team sponsors are allowed on the jogging suits. - Referees will be provided with special Referee shirts (4 per referee). - National media are allowed to cover the competition and follow the team representing their country. - Each team will be required a maximum of 5 hours of their time over the 5 day competition, so that German/international media can conduct interviews, photo sessions, etc., or for meetings/events with sponsors. Qualification - 5 -

6 Within a group, each team will meet with the other 4 teams. When 2 teams meet, they will play 8 matches against each other: 4 matches played in Singles and 4 matches played in Doubles (= 16 games). The Singles will be played first, followed by the Doubles; 2 matches will take place at the same time. The names of the players for all the matches will have to be provided on the score sheet 2 hours before each encounter and no changes of players will be allowed after that. A match consists of 2 games: one game on your table + 1 game on the other team s table. A game is won in 7 goals. At the end of the 8 matches, points will be granted according to the number of games won by each team: - when a team has won more than 8 games, it is granted 2 points - when a team has won 8 games, it is granted 1 point - when a team has won less than 8 games, it is granted 0 point The maximum number of points that can be granted to a team at the end of the qualification process is 8 (2 points x 4 encounters against other teams). - if 2 teams have scored the same number of points, the team that has won the most games comes first; - if both teams have won an equal number of games, the team that has the higher goal average comes first; - if both teams have the same goal average, the team that has scored the most goals comes first. 9 Elimination See chart next page. As with the qualification process, when 2 teams meet, they will play 8 matches against each other: 4 matches played in Singles and 4 matches played in Doubles. The Singles will be played first, followed by the Doubles. A match consists of 2 games: one game on your table + 1 game on the other team s table. A game is won in 7 goals. The player (pair in Doubles) who wins both games is declared winner. In the event of a tie, shorter games of 3 balls each will be played alternately on both tables (minimum 12 balls will be played); if the scores are still tied, players will play 6 more balls (3 on each table) until there is a winner. If, at the end of the encounter, both teams have won an equal number of matches (4 each), an extra match will be played in Doubles, to be played by 2 players of each team who have not yet taken part in Singles. The names of the players for that extra match will have to be provided on the score sheet within the following deadlines: - for the Top 16 matches: the day before - for the Quarter and Semi Final matches: at the end of the previous encounter - for the Final encounter and the encounter for Third Place: the day before - 9 -

14 ANNEX A: Rules on Nationality Citizenship and Changes in Citizenship 1. In International Competitions, ITSF Member Federations shall be represented only by Citizens of the Country or Territory which the affiliated Member represents. 2. Having once represented a Member in an International Competition, no athlete may thereafter represent another Member in an International Competition, except in the following circumstances: (a) The incorporation of one Country or Territory in another. (b) The creation of a new Country ratified by Treaty or otherwise recognised at international level. (c) Acquisition of a new citizenship. In this case, the athlete shall not represent his new Member in an International Competition for a period of 3 years following the acquisition of new Citizenship pursuant to the athlete s application. This period of 3 years may however be reduced or cancelled as set out below: (i) the period may be reduced to 12 months with the agreement of the Members concerned. (ii) the period may be reduced or cancelled in exceptional cases by a vote of the Executive Committee. (d) Dual Citizenship: In this case, an athlete who holds Citizenship of two (or more) Countries or Territories, may represent the Member of either (or any) of them, as he may elect. However, having represented the Member in an International Competition, he shall not represent another Member of which he is a Citizen in an International Competition for a period of 3 years from the date he last represented the first Member. This period of 3 years may however be reduced or cancelled as set out below: (i) the period may be reduced to 12 months with the agreement of the Members concerned. (ii) the period may be reduced or cancelled in exceptional cases by a vote of the Executive Committee. 3. (a) A Citizen of a Country or Territory which is not an ITSF Member may represent an ITSF Member Country or Territory in an International Competition on condition that he has completed a period of five years' continuous residence in that Country or Territory. (i) the period may be reduced or cancelled in exceptional cases by a vote of the Executive Committee

15 4. (a) When a Citizen of a Country or Territory of a Member which is suspended from ITSF is seeking to become a Citizen of a Country or Territory of a Member which is not suspended, he may compete in domestic competition organised by the Member which is not suspended on condition that: - he renounces his former nationality in the process of applying for citizenship of the Country or Territory of the Member which is not suspended and he publicly states this fact by advising the relevant Members concerned; - he completes at least one year's continuous residence in his new Country or Territory; - the domestic competition in which he participates does not include athletes from other Members. (b) An athlete who has complied with the requirements of Rule 5.3(a) above may compete in International Competitions only after completing a period of two years' continuous residence in his new Country or Territory. (c) An athlete who has complied with the requirements of Rule 5.3(a) above may represent his new National Federation in International Competitions only after completing a period of three years' continuous residence in his new Country or Territory and after he has acquired new citizenship. (d) The period(s) of continuous residence shall be computed on the basis of a year of 365 days, starting from the day after a person lands in the Country or Territory where he seeks to acquire new citizenship. (e) In any continuous 365 day period, an athlete may not spend more than a total of 90 days in the foreign Country or Territory of the Member under suspension. (f) An athlete seeking to qualify under this Rule must refrain from any athletics activities, which shall include, but not be restricted to, exhibition races, training, coaching, officiating, lecturing, giving interviews and publicity interviews, with any representatives of a Member which is under suspension. 5. Members and their officials, coaches and athletes are not to conduct any activities, as defined in Rule 5.3(f) above or otherwise, associated with any representative of a suspended Member, its officials, coaches, judges, athletes, etc. In case of any infringement of this Rule, the provisions for suspensions and sanctions laid down in the Constitution shall apply
