5 Rules Game Format ALL games Games will be conducted per NFHS Lacrosse rules unless otherwise stated in the BraveHeart 2018 Rules Tournament Chairpersons have final say on any tournament rules interpretation Stick check and captain s meeting for coin toss to choose sides only before each game Each half will be 22 minutes in length with a 5 minute half time Game clock will start at the scheduled time regardless if the teams have taken the field Game clock is a running clock at all times and will not stop for timeouts, injuries, penalties, or after goals. o Clock stoppage in the semi-finals and championship rounds may be considered by referees and Tournament Chairpersons if the situation warrants a stoppage. Each team is allowed one (1) one (1) minute timeout per game game clock does not stop No timeouts will be allowed in last five (5) minutes of any half In case of a tie at end of regulation play, a BraveHeart will determine winner see Game Tie-Breaker Rules In case of weather or other uncontrollable stoppage, games will be considered complete if half time is reached. Otherwise, the game will resume where it was stopped when weather permits If game is stopped after the 1st half is completed and is tied, a BraveHeart will be used to determine winner The Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify the tournament game schedule, duration of games, rules governing pool play, standings, etc. in the event of inclement weather

6 Rules Game Tie-Breaker Rules BraveHeart Tie Breaker Ø Each team places a goalie and 1 field player on the field. Ø Any player listed on the roster is eligible for the BraveHeart unless they are still serving penalty time at the end of regulation. Ø No substitutions are allowed during the BraveHeart except for injury- See injury related rules. Ø Goalies defend the goal closest to their bench. Ø Goalies must remain on the defensive end of the field (restraining line). Ø The BraveHeart begins with a draw and continues until a goal is scored. Ø 1st team to score wins and for the winning team, 1 point is awarded to the winners score to determine the final game score. Ø If a personal foul (card) occurs, the offended team is awarded the win. Ø There are no timeouts during a BraveHeart. Ø BraveHeart play will only be stopped due to an injury at the umpire s discretion. o If there is a stoppage due to injury, the BraveHeart will be restarted. o The injured player must be replaced. The other team has the option to substitute. o Only eligible players may be used as subs. Ø Championship games only will use a best 2 out of 3 BraveHeart round. Pool Winner Tie-Breaker Head-to-head score Goal differential Goals allowed Coin toss BraveHeart Round Rules o BraveHearts will be conducted per the rules described in Game Tie-Breaker o Each match will consist of the best 2 out of three BraveHearts. o A field player may only play in a single BraveHeart. Each BraveHeart requires a different field player, but goalies may play in multiple BraveHearts.

7 Point System Pool play: For each game the winning team is awarded 10 points and the losing team 0 points For every goal scored against the winning team, 1 point will be deducted If a team scores 10 or more goals and is the winning team, it will receive all 10 points regardless of the number of goals scored against them If a team wins a game via a BraveHeart Tie-Breaker, 1 goal will be added to the final score o Since that goal is added to the final score, it has the same impact on the score as any other goal scored and will be part of calculations of goal differential, total goals scored, goals allowed, the 10 goals scored calculation, etc. In the event of a forfeited game, the non-offending team will be awarded 5 points Examples: 1) In a game, the winner gets 10 points for the win and -0 for goals against as they scored more than 10. 2) In a 9-4 game, the winner gets 10 points for the win and -4 for goals against - resulting in 6 points for that game 3) In a 6-1 game, winning team gets 10 points for the win and -1 for goals against - resulting in 9 points for that game BraveHeart Round Point System: The winning team of each match receives 2 points, the losing team receives 0 points
