2 2 1 COMPLAINTS & TEMPORARY SUSPENSION Complaints and temporary suspension will be handled in accordance with Article II Section E of Bowler Association of Sun City West Bylaws 2 BOWLERS ASSOCIATION OF SUN CITY WEST HALL OF FAME The Sun City West Bowlers Hall of Fame is sponsored by the Bowlers Association of Sun City West () PURPOSE The purpose is to honor, pay tribute to and perpetuate the names of those who have contributed to the growth and welfare of the sport of bowling by their bowling proficiency and/or meritorious service MEMBERSHIP Membership in the Hall of Fame shall be determined by annual election hereinafter described No bowler may gain automatic entry into the Hall of Fame Admittance will be considered through written nomination only COMMITTEES There shall be three standing committees of the Sun City West Bowlers Hall of Fame a) Selection b) Ceremony c) Celebration The Ceremony and Celebration committees may be members of the Board of Directors or may be an Ad Hoc Committee appointed by the Board 1) The Selection Committee, composed of the current Board of Directors, shall be responsible for reviewing and voting on the qualification of all nominees 2) The Ceremony Committee shall be responsible for obtaining the individual awards to be presented to those elected to the Hall of Fame and for the presentation ceremony 3) The Celebration Committee shall be responsible for all activities associated with the Hall of Fame celebration function NOMINATIONS Nomination of a candidate for election to the SCW Bowlers Hall of Fame can be made by ANY resident member of a SCW sanctioned league, with the following stipulations:
3 a) All qualifications and achievements of the candidates must accompany the nomination as prescribed hereinafter and will be accepted between March 1 and May 1 of the current year 3 b) Nominations may be delivered in a SEALED envelope to: Bowlers Association of Sun City West Hall of Fame, % R H Johnson Sports Pavilion, RH Johnson Blvd, Sun City West, Arizona QUALIFICATIONS The Board shall ensure that the candidates possess the proper qualifications for nomination Nominees must have bowled as a regular member of a team in a Sun City West sanctioned winter league for a total of five (5) seasons, 60 games per season Other qualifications to be considered are: dedication, leadership, personality and any other additional achievements The two categories for admittance are: Proficiency: A male bowler must have maintained an average of 190 or higher for three (3) consecutive years A female bowler must have maintained an average of 170 or higher for three (3) consecutive years Meritorious A nominee must have demonstrated exemplary volunteer services to enhance and promote the sport of bowling in Sun City West Posthumous candidates will also be considered The Board shall meet no later than 30 calendar days after the May 1 closing date of the nominations, at a special meeting to review the qualifications and to hold the election of candidates to the Hall of Fame

5 Rev ELECTION Each year, a maximum of two nominees for the proficiency award may be elected and only one possible nominee elected for the meritorious award In order to be elected, a nominee must receive at least 75% of the votes cast Living and posthumous candidates may be elected during any year The Board shall proceed to vote as follows: - Only one ballot will be cast for each category of proficiency & meritorious The ballot will contain the names of all candidates in that category - Points assigned by each Board member may be 5 to 0 for a candidate Only one point value is assigned to each candidate, resulting in no duplication of points (ie the point value of 5 may be cast only ONCE on the ballot: only one 4, one 3, etc) - A total of 75% of the total points is required for a nominee to be elected If no nominees qualify on the first ballot, a second ballot will be taken using the following procedure: - Take only the top two candidates from the first ballot and re-vote using 5 to 0 - If no candidate qualifies on the second ballot, it will be declared a "no election" year All nominees not elected to the Hall of Fame in the first year will be carried over as nominees for the second year If not elected the second year, their names will be removed from the nomination list They may be re-nominated by following the original procedure AWARDS The expenses of operating the Hall of Fame shall be borne by the Bowlers Association of Sun City West Any expense of any celebration dinner or picnic shall be a shared expense with attending members and/or shall be determined by the Bowlers Association of Sun City West Governing Board
6 6 3 NO TAP BOWLING 1 NO TAP bowling is conducted on alternate Saturdays January through July and September through December as scheduled by the Board 2 The cost per bowler is determined by the Bowlers Association of Sun City West Payment is by check, payable to the, or by cash The bowler must be a member or an authorized guest of a member A bowler s average will be determined by bowling three (3) games in a Saturday No Tap Averages are adjusted per event the same as regular leagues Guests are not permitted to receive any type of prize money They will pay normal Johnson Lanes guest lineage for the evening 3 NO TAP bowling is the felling of nine (9) pins on the first ball (any frame) This is recorded as a "NO-TAP" strike Handicap will be calculated as 90% of the difference between a bowlers average and Sign-up for the next session of NO-TAP bowling is conducted at the beginning of the current NO-TAP session on the forms provided by the No Tap Committee placed on each pair of lanes Bowlers may also sign-up at the Monitor's Desk before the Thursday noon preceding the actual event 5 Cancellations for the next scheduled No-Tap event should be submitted no later than noon (12 PM) on the Friday before that event by any of the following ways: a Sign the book located on the league desk in RH Johnson Lanes b Contacting the No-Tap coordinator or assistant (names and contact information located on the cover of the No Tap book c Contacting any board member Exceptions to the cancellation policy will include an unexpected, verified illness or injury or a family emergency Any member with two (2) consecutive no-shows in a 30-day period will forfeit their entry fee, which will be applied to the 50/50 fund in support of club activities 6 All entries must be paid by cash or check at the time of sign-up Six (6) bowlers per lane may be assigned if it is deemed non-disruptive by the No-Tap Chairman 7 If there is a sufficient number of bowlers, a second squad of No-Tap bowlers will be included in the No-Tap session and follow the same procedures as the first squad All prize money will be collected in a similar manner and placed into a single prize fund All prize funds will be distributed at the following No-Tap session 8 If the lanes are full and a guest is scheduled for bowling, and a member makes application prior to the cut-off time, the guest will be replaced by the member 9 A special NO-TAP is held every New Year's Eve in conjunction with a special club celebration event Sign-up for the New Year's Eve NO-TAP will be conducted during the month of December
7 7 during each No-Tap event The reserves the right to limit the number of New Year s Event tickets that can be sold per member for this event
8 8 4 Rules for Contest 1 The Tournament is conducted during the No-Tap Tournament as scheduled by the Board is the felling of nine (9) or more pins on the first ball of the third (3 rd ), sixth (6) and ninth (9 th ) frame of a single line of bowling during the No-Tap Tournament This is recorded as a " qualification for that line of bowling 3 A bowler registers with the monitor prior to the start of bowling the No-Tap tournament 4 A bowler may register for the for three lines at an entry fee of $300 in addition to and separate from the No-Tap entry fee The number of times a registered bowler qualifies determines how many shares that bowler wins at the discretion of the chairman 5 A bowler is registered for each individual game Bowlers may qualify for any or all of the three games bowled during that specific No-Tap 6 All entry fees collected at a No-Tap tournament form the prize fund The prize fund is divided into shares by dividing the prize fund by the total number of qualifiers rounded down to a full dollar amount The remainder is carried over to the next tournament 7 Qualifying registered bowlers are paid according to the number of shares each bowler wins Payment is made at the following No-Tap Tournament
9 9 5 RED PIN BOWLING 1 RED PIN bowling is conducted as scheduled by the Bowlers Association of Sun City West Board of Directors 2 The cost per bowler is determined by the Bowlers Association of Sun City West Payment is by check only, payable to the The bowler must be a member of the Bowlers Association 3 RED PIN bowling consists of RED pins being placed among the usual white pins Bowlers are awarded "quarters" for a variety of bowling activity associated with the red pins as stated in the Red Pin Payout Rules Awards range from one quarter to $100 For example, the bowler receives fifty cents ($50) when achieving a strike when a Red Pin head pin appears in the set-up; the bowler receives a quarter ($25) for each red pin standing on the first ball if only red pins remain standing alone, with no white pins; the bowler receives a quarter ($25) when a split is left after the first ball and will receive extra money if the split is converted There are many other combinations where the bowler is awarded quarters 4 Sign-up for the next session of RED PIN bowling is conducted beginning at the current RED PIN session Bowlers may also sign-up at the Monitor's Desk before the noon preceding the actual event
