8 Strathcona Pool Overview Zone: North East EPS made it to the semi-finals of all tournaments they competed in this year! They lost in the finals in two tournaments. At the final tournament of the year in Cold Lake, they won. They are proud to have hosted the Zone Championship and won on home court. They are a young team with only one grade 12, so the provincial experience will be great. 9 Strathcona Pool Zone: South Central Overview The Spartans are proud to host the ASAA 2A Boys Provincial Volleyball Championship. It will be a return to the provincial championships from last year, where they gained a great deal of experience that they are eager to bring to this year s tournament. It has been a very competitive and successful year for the Spartans. Although they received an automatic bye into the provincial tournament as host school, they qualified in their own right by clinching the South Central Zone banner for the second year in a row. The players and coaching staff would like to welcome all teams to our Sports Hall and wish them a great tournament. 10 Strathcona Pool Overview Zone: Edmonton The Edmonton Christian Lions are excited to be back at the 2A Provincial Championships, hosted by Strathcona- Tweedsmuir, after playing at the 3A or 4A level for the last 8 seasons. Our team is fortunate to play in the highly competitive Edmonton Metro Division 1 league where we ended up third this season. Our team consists of a great mix of talented grade 10, 11 and 12 students so we hope to make a run at the championship this year and in the years to come. 11 Strathcona Pool Zone: South- WC Overview The Eagles are excited to be back at the 2A Provincial Volleyball Tournament and look forward to competing against the best teams from across the province. The team is led by two Grade 12 starters and supported by a hard working group of Grade 10s and 11s. The Eagles compete in the Westwinds Volleyball League where they compiled a record of 8-2. A highlight of the year was a close silver medal finish in the South Zone Championships. Thank you to Strathcona-Tweedsmuir for hosting this tournament and we look forward to the tournament experience. 12 Strathcona Pool Overview Zone: Central- WC The OLMP Sr. Boys competed this season in the 2A CASAA Central East Zone. Season highlights included strong results at the Augustana tournament in Camrose, JP II in Fort Saskatchewan, and the Banff Invitational. 18 Tweedsmuir Pool Zone: South Overview The St. Mary's Celtics are proud to represent the South Zone this year. It has been a very positive season with all 10 of these young men. In all, they have competed in 5 tournaments this year. They collected third place in Three Hills and our home Double Blue tournament. They had a strong showing in Kate Andrews and showed a lot of focus and improvement to be finalists at the Monster Smash tournament in Vulcan. Building on that they concluded the season with the Zone Championship Banner at Lethbridge College. We are very excited to be part of this year's Provincial Tournament and would like to wish good luck to all teams competing!
