1 BSSW & MSW Student Outcomes Assessment
2 Student Outcomes Assessment The Field Education Evaluation form is used to determine if students have mastered the competencies associated with foundation and advanced knowledge and skills. The field education evaluation form evaluates student achievement utilizing the following rating scale: Advanced Competence; Competence; Emerging Competence; Insufficient Progress; and Unacceptable Progress. The minimum criteria established to assert competencies and associated practice behaviors have been achieved is 80% of students earning a rating of Competence or above on the final semester field evaluation. We are striving toward having 90% or more of our students achieving ratings of Competence or above. The evaluative data are presented to the Undergraduate Studies Committee, Educational Policy Committee and faculty to inform College decisions regarding curriculum content and development. Assessment reviews that occur after the implementation of the new semester curriculum will provide direction for continued refinement of the curriculum and other activities that will improve outcomes. Table 1 presents the Field Evaluation data for as of May The Field Evaluation data indicates that BSSW and MSW students are performing well above the minimum criteria established to assert that students are demonstrating mastery of key competencies in their field placement. The data are compiled annually and posted in December. 2
