4 RACE REPORTS RACE 1 WELCOME TO NEWCASTLE GREYS STAKES 5 TH GRADE 400M. WINNER VALIANT (3) ORIOLE (2) underwent a veterinary examined prior to the Event, which revealed a dislocation to the Nearside Hind Toe. After receiving veterinary treatment, the veterinary surgeon was satisfied that the greyhound was fit to compete. The Trainer of ORIOLE (2) was also satisfied with the greyhounds fitness and determined to compete in the Event. ORIOLE (2) was quickest to begin. WACKY WHACKER (8) was slowest to begin. ORIOLE (2) has led runners into the first-turn and the back-straight. MR. DEEKS (4) and PETER S BABE (5) have come together exiting the back-straight, causing PETER S BABE (5) to gallop awkwardly and losing ground passing the 600m boxes. PETER S BABE (5) has galloped on the heels of MR. DEEKS (4) in the turn out of the back-straight, causing PETER S BABE (5) to lose ground and come together with WACKY WHACKER (8) and TRALEE ANNA (6). VALIANT (3) has come together with the hind of ORIOLE (2) approaching the exit of the turn into the home-straight, causing ORIOLE (2) to lose ground. MR. 5 RACE 2 NO DONUTS STAKES MASTERS 400M. WINNER ROSS S GEM (6) SON OF BOGART (1) was quickest to begin. SCOTTIE S HOTTIE (4) was slowest to begin. ROSS S GEM (6) has led runners in the first-turn and into the back-straight. TEE TANGA (3), DOUBLE HOPE (5) and OATH (7) have come together in the firstturn, causing OATH (7) to shift-out. SCOTTIE S HOTTIE (4) has galloped on the heels of OATH (7) approaching the exit of the first-turn, causing SCOTTIE S HOTTIE (4) to lose ground and be worse affected. SCOTTIE S HOTTIE (4) and OATH (7) have come together in the turn into the homestraight, causing OATH (7) to lose ground. SON OF BOGART (1) has appeared to gallop awkwardly in the home-straight before coming together with ROSS S GEM (6), SON OF BOGART (6) was subsequently examined by the on-course veterinary surgeon post-race at the request of the Trainer, which failed to reveal any apparent injury. Stewards interviewed the Trainer of SON OF BOGART (1), where video footage was replayed, in particular the greyhounds actions on entering the home-straight. After taking into consideration submission made by the Trainer, SON OF BOGART (1) was issued with an endorsement in accordance with GAR71 Unsatisfactory Performance. As such, SON OF BOGART (1) is prohibited from nomination and competing in Events until the completion of a Trial satisfactorily in accordance with GAR72. SPEED BURST (1) has appeared to turn its head in an outwardly motion in the firstturn, hampering the run of SATAY (2), MISS SPRINGER (4) and MAGIC SPIDER (8), with SATAY (2) worse affected and losing ground. SATAY (2) has galloped on the heels of MAGIC SPIDER (8) approaching the exit of the first-turn. SPEED BURST (1) has again turned its head in an outwardly motion, losing ground momentarily and hampering the run of MAGIC SPIDER (8). PEGGY APPEAL (6) has led runners into the back-straight. PEGGY APPEAL (6) has run strongly in the home-straight. SPEED BURST (1) was subsequently examined by the on-course veterinary surgeon post-race at the request of the Trainer, which revealed an injury to the Offside. Stewards spoke with Authorised Handler of SPEED BURST (1), where footage of the Event was replayed. After taking into consideration submissions made by connections, and the identified injury, SPEED BURST (1) was issued with an endorsement in accordance with GAR69B Failing To Pursue (due to injury). As such, SPEED BURST (1) is prohibited from nomination and competing in an Event until the completion of a Trial satisfactorily in accordance with GAR72. HOWARD S ODYSSEY (1) has checked-off the heels of PLAYER (2) exiting the turn into the home-straight. ELGAR (8) has turned its head in an outward motion, continuing to shift-out in pursuit of HOWARD S ODYSSEY (1).
