Amendments to the Society By-Laws require a 75% majority. The total number of eligible votes in attendance is 68. Amendments to the Society By-Laws require a vote of 75% which equals 51 votes

2 Adoption of Agenda: MOTION: M/S (Tim Tanton/Jeremy Webb) to adopt the VIAHA AGM Agenda of May 5 th, 2013 as presented. Adoption of Previous Meeting Minutes: MOTION: M/S (Roberta Bortolotto /Darren Forgarty) to adopt the Minutes of the 2012 VIAHA AGM held May 27 th, 2012 held in Nanaimo, BC. Skip ahead to New Business: (i) Life Membership: It was previously accepted via electronic poll by the Executive Committee to award Past VIAHA employee and volunteer Mr. Robin Edwards a VIAHA Life Membership. Hearing no objections decision was passed. UNANIMOUS (v) Nominations: Nomination Committee Member, Roberta Bortolotto, announced that Don Taylor name was added for Annual Reports: The Year End Reports as presented in the 2013 VIAHA Package: VIAHA President Director of Operations VP South Island VP Mid-Island VP North Island Female Head Commissioner Atom Development Commissioner Jim Humphrey- No questions asked from the floor David Beatty- No questions asked from the floor Sylvain Fradette- No questions asked from the floor Marline Sandferd - No questions asked from the floor Daniel Payne - No questions asked from the floor Don Taylor - No questions asked from the floor Kristen Arnold - No questions asked from the floor Staci Nelson - No questions asked from the floor BCH District Director Deborah Turney - No questions asked from the floor Deborah spoke in regards to additional information on upcoming topics and resolutions expected at the 2013 BC Hockey AGM. Deborah will supply Charlotte with extra report to out to Membership. BCH Safety and Risk Management Gina Jung - No report submitted BCH RCM North Stephane Rainville - No questions asked from the floor Change: Braden Mackenzie is from Campbell River not Powell River BCH RCM South BCH Coach Coordinator South Yves Ouellet No questions asked from the floor Bob Gordon (report was read verbally and late written report was made available at back of the room for pick-up) No questions asked from the floor MOTION: M/S (Don Taylor/Marline Sandferd) to accept the Annual Reports as presented.

3 Financial Report Charlotte Johnson VIAHA Executive Director presented the Year End financial statement (Notice to Reader) dated March 31st, MOTION: M/S (Marline Sandferd /Don Taylor) to accept the unaudited financial Statements (Notice to Reader) for the year ending March 31 st 2013 as presented. MOTION: M/S (Tim Tanton/ Petra Van Deventer) to waive the requirement for an audit (By-Law 11, Paragraph 93) of the financials. The proposed budget was presented for discussion. MOTION: M/S (Darren Forgarty/Jeremy Webb) to accept the Proposed balanced Operating Budget as presented. Old Business: No Old Business items New Business: Endorse BC Hockey District Director: BC Hockey District Director (VI): Deborah Turney MOTION: M/S (Al Barker/ Chris Downey) That VIAHA supports Deborah Turney pending BC Hockey elections or appointments. Resolutions to By-Laws and Regulations: Chaired by Marline Sandferd MOTION: For the purposes of this portion of the meeting Al Barker will move and Tim Tanton will second each resolution to get them on the floor for discussion. Coach of the Year: Presented by Jim Humphrey - Awarded to Glen McBride of Saanich MHA. President s Award: Presented by Jim Humphrey - Awarded to Vince Devlin of Campbell River MHA. Association of the Year: Presented by Jim Humphrey - Awarded to MHA Scholarships: Marline Sandferd Scholarship Chair announced the following successful recipients: North Island Quintin Lennox of Comox Valley MHA Mid Island Liam MacLeod of Alberni Valley MHA South Island Dylan Tucker of Victoria MHA Certificates were presented & congratulatory letters will go out to the MHA s to give to the recipients prior to graduations soon as possible. Summer Officiating School Scholarship: Steve Moir announced the following successful recipients: Recipients were Kyle McAllister (Gold River), Callum Klymchuk (Nanaimo) Tyler Pang (Victoria Racquet Club)

5 Elections of Officers and Directors : Jim Humphrey stood down as the President and passed the chair to Roberta Bortolotto to Chair Elections Chris Atchison, Roberta Bortolotto and Patrick Devereaux were appointed as the VIAHA Nomination Committee and reported that the following names were those they had received for the various positions: Officers Positions: President VP North VP South VP Mid Island Jim Humphrey Angie Williams Steve Moir Dan Payne Marline Sandferd/Don Taylor Roberta reminded those present of the newly adopted resolution that in order to be elected a candidate had to receive 50% +1 of the votes. President VP North VP South VP Mid Island Jim Humphrey - Elected Angie Williams - Elected Steve Moir - Elected Dan Payne Elected Marline Sandferd - Elected MOTION: M/S (Tim Tanton/Chris Downey) to destroy all voting ballots. Other: -Registrar s seminar will be mandatory this summer. Plans are to hold in June. Charlotte will contact you soon with details. -Bids to host available BC Hockey Championships (Peewee T2 & Midget T4) are to be submitted to Charlotte Johnson by May 31st. Charlotte will circulate and inform Deborah Turney of whom the District nominates. Leaving Appreciation Awards: Presented by Jim Humphrey for Sylvain Fradette past VP South (Steve Moir to deliver to him in Victoria) and to Don Taylor Past VP North.
