Race results: click here Race 1 TAJ ROSSI SERIES HEAT metres: Red Casino trainer advised would be ridden further back than last start; raced off the pace before weakening from the 350m. Staviva reared on jumping and lost ground. Where It Began began slowly and hampered by Theycallmethehoff which shifted out. Hung in. Daring near the 200m was tightened onto the hindquarters of Seenaan by Al s Kitchen which shifted in. Rider J Winks reported that when he asked the filly to improve it failed to handle the shifting track conditions. I Am The General rider J Noonan reported the colt travelled keenly and would be better suited with the blinkers removed. Race 2 REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE HANDICAP metres: Good Thinking on leaving the gates was tightened by Special Miss (NZ) which jumped awkwardly and shifted in. Sacred Dream got its head up on leaving the gates and lost ground. For a short distance near the 300m was held up for a clear run. Caves in the early and middle stages raced keenly. Special Miss (NZ) rider N Hall advised his mount failed to run out the 2000m on today s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than a slow recovery. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000m. Race 3 SPOTLESS PLATE metres: Jemerica on leaving the gates was bumped by Awasita which was taken out by Curl Up which began awkwardly. Sense Of Hite (NZ) and Sentfromthestars on leaving the gates were both tightened between Nicamorae and Hot Mama which both shifted ground. Hot Mama near the 1100m was checked out across the heels of Pearly Whites after being tightened by Sentfromthestars, which was taken out slightly by Sense Of Hite (NZ) which in turn was taken out by Nicamorae. Sentfromthestars raced ungenerously for several strides after having been tightened for room near the 1100m. Rider K Mallyon reported in her opinion may have come to the end of its preparation. Curl Up passing the 500m shifted in abruptly and became unbalanced after being brushed by Miracle To Me, which was attempting a run to the inside of Cobblestones. J Mott (Miracle To Me) was reprimanded for attempting a run where there was insufficient room. I m Fearsome held up from passing the 300m until near the 200m. Good Music rider M Payne reported laid out for the majority of the event. Nicamorae rider J Noonan reported would be better suited on firmer ground.

3 Belle Couture rider J Winks reported was fractious in the barriers, stumbled on jumping, was slow into stride and failed to travel throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings. Miracle To Me J Mott reported the filly travelled well for most of the event but when let down failed to respond and was disappointing. He added the stable indicated may be better when ridden quieter. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings. Race 4 CLEANEVENT HANDICAP metres: Voila Ici (IRE) trainer advised would be ridden forward today; after beginning well went forward and sat behind the leader. Compound (NZ) trainer advised would be ridden back; took up a rearward position after leaving the gates. Hannaford Stewards questioned M Payne with respect to her riding tactics from the home turn where she remained on the inside running rail. She advised that after having walked the track today she was of the view that hard against the rail was the best inside going and after having been advised that the gelding did not like racing amongst other runners when crowded for room, and that the gelding had a history of laying in she elected to stay on the inside. Mr R Laing, trainer of Hannaford, confirmed the instructions given with respect to the gelding s racing manners. Me Hungi C Robertson reported his mount hit the side of the gates at the start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. El Mandoma K Mallyon reported her mount failed to handle today s track conditions. Race 5 SECONDBITE FRESH FOOD RESCUE metres: Boombuster connections advised would be ridden off the speed. Boombuster was ridden mid-field. Tenere became cast in barrier stall, underwent veterinary examination and passed suitable to race. Miss Maggiebeel began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider K Mallyon reported failed to handle the Slow 7 track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mattan on leaving the gates was bumped by Written Up which began awkwardly and shifted in. By The Grace approaching the 1000m was steadied for several strides when tightened by Kingdom Of Dreams which was taken in by Search Squad (NZ), which when over-racing close to the heels of Written Up shifted in. Miss Maggiebeel which was following got its head up and was steadied. I Gundogdu (Search Squad (NZ) was reprimanded and advised he should have made a greater attempt to remain behind Written Up prior to shifting in. Gold Cufflinks checked at the 900m when tightened for room between Miss Maggiebeel, which was shifting out to avoid the heels of By The Grace, and Tenere which shifted in slightly. Written Up raced three wide without cover.

4 My Angus raced four wide without cover. Zenithal at the 450m was eased across the heels of By The Grace (M Payne) which shifted out when seeking clear running. M Payne was severely reprimanded. Kingdom Of Dreams rider S King stopped riding near the finishing line when being taken slightly off its course. S King reported failed to handle the Slow 7 track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 6 ALL VICTORIAN SPRINT SERIES HEAT metres: Lonhspresso began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Rider H Coffey reported he expected the mare to race well fresh today and was disappointed with the run. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance before racing again. Road Warrior near the 300m was steadied away from the heels of Lonspresso which shifted out. Pampelonne rider J Azzopardi reported the gelding got down on its bumpers and quartered itself. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in near foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Race 7 MOMENTUM ENERGY SMILEPOWER TROPHY metres: Wells connections advised would be ridden more positive from the barrier; sat behind the leader. Gottino (IRE) contacted the lane rail leaving the mounting yard, underwent a veterinary examination behind the start and passed suitable to race. Jelly Baby (NZ) slow to leave the gates losing ground (three lengths). Rider H Coffey reported the mare made a respiratory noise near the 1200m and from that point hung out. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind leg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Unchain My Heart rider K Mallyon reported did not handle the track conditions. Race 8 FLEMINGTON GREEN FIELDS HANDICAP metres: Chile Express (NZ) third placegetter, rider L Currie lodged an objection against Tried And Tired (second placegetter) alleging interference near the 200m. It was established near the 200m Chile Express (NZ) had to shift in across the heels of Tried And Tired that was shifting out when not fully clear. Stewards were not satisfied that the interference suffered was greater than the half length margin and therefore the objection was dismissed. J Noonan was severely reprimanded. Soros slow to begin (two lengths) and a warning was placed on its record. Dayita bumped on the hindquarters by Tried And Tired on leaving the gates. Shadow Ninja rider M Payne reported her mount may not have handled the track and did not let down. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings.
