The robust case design has made this instrument ideal for general control room and laboratory work, and it has been incorporated as part of OEM (original equipment manufacture) designs. Several versions of sensor and configuration are available, enabling the analyser to operate in a diverse range of applications. These include sensors suitable for operating in the presence of hydrogen and high concentrations of mildly acidic gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide. The linearised sensor output ensures very accurate readings in all variants. A large multi-digit, autoranging LCD shows the concentration and user-adjustable parameters. Two alarm channels, user-programmable to be high, low or off, each provide one set of volt-free changeover contacts, and can be set to any concentration within the span of the instrument. A user programmable analogue output of 0 to 5v or 4 to 20mA is also available. Easily specified sample handling systems can be built into the analyser housing, giving you a robust, tidy and efficient sampling regime. These include the ability to pump your sample to the instrument using an internal sample pump, a fast flow loop option, and pressure handling facilities. For transportable bench-top use the G250 shown in the photograph offers maximum convenience. Where fixed installation is required the 19-inch rackmounting G125 offers the perfect solution. Exceptional range and speed are accomplished by using a unique micro-processorcontrolled dual-cell sensor system. Two measuring cells are employed: one measures percentage concentrations, the other low-level parts per million (ppm) concentrations. The lowlevel cell is main-tained at a low oxygen level in a fully sealed condition until it is required for use. The concentration of the sample is initially measured by the highlevel cell. When the high-level cell senses a low level of concentration in the sample, the electronic control automatically diverts the sample to the low-level cell. Because this cell is maintained at a low level it responds rapidly and accurately to measure the low concentration. Safeguards, built into the analyser control system, protect the low-level cell from being exposed to high concentrations. Advanced software provides seam-less and fully automatic transfer from one cell to the other. No special skills are required to use the analyser. A programmable 4 to 2OmA output is provided and can be set between the ranges of 0 to 20ppm and 0 to 25% oxygen. The IP65 wall mounting case gives good weatherproofing properties, allowing you to mount the instrument outside. Several versions of sensor and configuration are available, enabling the analyser to operate in a diverse range of applications. 8 G810 portable oxygen analyser H PS Features Measures from 100% to below 1000ppm Air calibration High accuracy Sample pump Rechargeable batteries provide up to 30 hours of running time The G810 oxygen analyser is a portable instrument for measuring oxygen concentrations over a wide range. Based on a galvanic cell sensor, the analyser employs advanced linearisation to offer a high degree of accuracy whilst retaining the ability to be simply calibrated on air. Two sensor versions are available to enable the analyser to operate at optimum performance in a diverse range of applications. One of the sensors is for operating in the presence of high concentrations of mildly acidic gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide. A large multi-digit, autoranging LCD shows the concentration and user-adjustable parameters. A 0 to 1V analogue output is provided, which can be set to one of several pre-set ranges by the user. An internal sample pump is fitted as standard, enabling samples at less than atmospheric pressure to be taken. For samples at an adequate pressure the pump may be switched off. The gas flow is set by an integral needle valve. True portability is achieved from sealed rechargeable batteries which offer from 16 to 30 hours operation, depending on pump use. For maximum flexibility, recharging can be carried out from a mains supply or from a vehicle s cigarette lighter socket. The whole instrument is housed in a tough ABS case with a carrying handle that doubles a s availableheight tilt food for bench use. A mains charger unit (UK only) and vehicle cigarette lighter adaptor are supplied with the instrument as standard, and a carrying case is available as an option. Features include a dual wavelength sensor, remote sampling, digital readout, adjustable level relay outputs for alarm and control purposes, and minimal maintenance. High performance is guaranteed by the infra-red sensor which makes use of a reference wavelength as well as a sensing wavelength, thus maintaining accuracy over long periods without the need to recalibrate. An internal pump draws gas samples into the sensor through a particle filter from an intake which can be located at distances up to 30m from the monitor. The intake can be fitted with a moisture exclusion unit for use in wet environments. A choice of seven concentration ranges from 0 to 100% down to 0 to 3000ppm (0.3%) is available for carbon dioxide monitoring and a choice of three, 0 to 100%, 0 to 30% and 0 to 10% for methane monitoring. Readings are displayed by a 4-digit clear and unambiguous liquid crystal display. Two fully adjustable set points with associated volt-free contacts provide signals for separate alarms or appropriate control systems when carbon dioxide or methane concentrations reach set-point levels. The alarm values are displayed by pressing a button, which provides easy interrogation and setting. The sensor and electronic components are housed in a tough plastic enclosure rated at IP54 (ingress protection against water or dust). Examples include hydrogen, carbon dioxide, argon, helium and various halogenated hydrocarbons such as the Freons. Almost any single constituent of a gas mixture can be measured, providing it thermal conductivity differs from that of the other components. The ranges provided depend upon the gas being measured but can be from high ppm to 100%. A non-depleting katharometer sensor measure the thermal conductivity of the gas. The sensor incorporates a highly sensitive element of low thermal capacity, which requires not maintenance. Signal processing is provided by a microprocessor to give a level of accuracy and a range not normally associated with this tpe of sensor. Little or no calibration is required because of the system s inherent high stability. A built-in sample pump means that samples can be drawn from lowpressure sources or can be naturally aspirated. An integral needle valve and flow indicator are used to control the sample flow through the analyser. Dual-gas measurement is provided by the KG850. It combines the measurement abilities of the K850 with oxygen measurement by electrochemical cell. Concentration ranges from 100ppm to 100% of oxygen are available, depending on the application. True portability is from sealed rechargeable batteries, which offer 6 hours continuous operation. Extended operation is possible by running the unit with the battery charger connected. The whole instrument is housed in a tough ABS case with a carrying handle that doubles a s a variable-height tilt foot for bench use. A large, alphanumeric LCD shows measured values and also display messages and prompts for the menu-driven configuration and calibration routines. These procedures are simple and straightforward. The unique dual katharometer design overcomes the problems experienced with older thermal conductivity devices based on a single cell. A choice of ranges and optional sample conditioning systems make the KK650 ideal for use at all stages of the chlorine manufacturing process wet chlorine, dry chlorine, tail gas and hypo plant applications are all catered for. In particular low levels of hydrogen can be measured at start-up even when the background gas has a composition of mainly nitrogen. The sample conditioning systems remove any particulates, water and water vapour from the process gas, adjusts the flow and enables test or calibration gases to be introduced easily. Chemical and consumable free they are also low maintenance. Cost of ownership is extremely low because the stable katharometers require no consumables and have a minimal maintenance requirement. Test gases may be run according to customers protocols but the typical calibration requirement is annual at most. There is a choice of calibration methods so that hazardous chlorine mixes are not necessary. The solid state sensor and assembly is extremely robust and has a very long life. 27 HPS Z1400 Combustion Oxygen Analyser Features Samples up to 1750 C Long-life zirconia sensor Very easy, non demounting servicing Programmable analogue output and alarms Response time less than 0.5 seconds The Z1400 zirconia oxygen analyser uses a high temperature, long-life zirconia oxygen sensor to measure the oxygen content of flue gases in all types of combustion process. It can be used for samples with temperatures up to 1750 C and dew points up to 200 C. The sensor unit is close coupled to the flue ducting, and an integral air powered aspirator extracts a continuous sample of the flue gas. Once analysed, the sample together with the small amount of aspirator air is returned to the flue duct. This technique avoids the need to insert the sensor into the flue. This both extends the life of the cell and simplifies maintenance. The associated electronic display module can be located at up to 50 metres from the sensor unit (or more with a standard option). Results are displayed on a large LCD and the two concentration alarms and analogue output are user programmable. Combustion process efficiency is most directly measured by monitoring the oxygen content of the waste gases from the combustion heating processes. With suitable control equipment the Z1400 enables the close control of burners to optimise their efficiency over their entire firing range.
