This site was identified through the WRIA i3-4-year implementation priority list, and a WRIA 13 Project Development Grant. The actions included in this project are recornmended by the WRIA 13 4 Year Work Plan, the Squaxin Island Tribe Natural Resources Deschutes Coho study. Spurgeon Creek is the largest lowland tributary and is listed as high priority for restoration. SPSSEG is proposing to re-meander a ditched channel through the adjacent wet fields just south of a private driveway and north of and below the Fox Hill development. The proposed project is intended to improve water quality and improve habitat salmonids and other aquatic and riparian dependent wildlife on site. The project has the potential to provide salmon viewing and educational opportunities to local residents and the public at large. The goal of the project is to improve fish productivity and survival within Spurgeon Creek by enhancing the quality and quantity of instream habitat within the project reach. Habitat is currently impaired, particularly within the lower portion of the project reach, by lack of riparian vegetation and large woody debris, simplification of instream habitats, poor floodplain connectivity, channel incision and poor water quality. The project would advance conceptual designs to 90Yo designs and construct the project. However, this project could be scaled to include the 600/o designs and permitting. This site/area is listed on the WRIA 13 Three Year Implementation Priority Lists, the Deschutes Recovery

This grant builds upon conceptual designs completed as part of the WRIA 13 - Three Year Work Plan Project Development Grant ( ). SPSSEG is working with a HOA.
