1 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RULES 2017 (supersedes all previous rules) GENERAL REGULATIONS [1] The North Wales Car Club Limited will promote a number of Championships annually for its members. All Championships will run from 1 st January to 31 st December each year. The Championships are exempt from MSA permit under regulation D7.1.3 (closed-to-club). [2] All Championships are open to all fully elected paid-up members of the North Wales Car Club, and points will not be allocated until subscriptions have been received by a Club Official. Points cannot be claimed for events tackled prior to payment of subscriptions. [3] Competitors must enter under the North Wales Car Club to be eligible for points. [4] Drivers and Navigator/Co-Drivers will score separately and it is possible for a NWCC Driver to compete with a non-nwcc Navigator/Co-Driver and vice versa. [5] Points gained by eligible competitors will be recorded by the Competitions Secretary on receipt of a copy of the entry list and results for the event - it will not be necessary to claim points on events that are part of any ANWCC Championship, the Glynne Edwards Memorial Championship or a closed-to-club event, but other events will require submission of claims by forwarding a copy of the entry list (showing club) and results within six weeks of the event. Points must be claimed for the Marshals Championship in respect of ALL non-nwcc events. [6] Except where otherwise stated, points will be awarded using the following formula: P = (((A+1 B)/A)x75)))+(((a+1 b)/a)x25))) x C where (A) = Number of starters overall, (B) = Finishing position overall; (a) = Number of starters in class, (b) = Finishing position in class; (C) = co-efficient factor, being 0.4 for Clubman events, 1 for National B events, 1.25 for National A events, 1.5 for International events. P will be rounded off to 2 decimal places. [7] Updated positions will be published in the Club magazine, Torque, and will state which events have been added. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that the necessary information is received by the Competitions Secretary, otherwise they will be ineligible to claim points for. If no official results are available then provisional results will be acceptable, subject to adjustment at a later date if necessary, on receipt of the official results. [8] Any queries regarding points allocated must be made within 7 days of publication. [9] The competitor gaining the highest number of points during the championship year will be deemed the Champion. The competitor gaining the next highest number of points will be deemed the Runner-Up. Such titles will be subject to General Rule 9 below. In the event of a [10] To be eligible for an award at the conclusion of the championship year, the competitor must have marshalled or assisted (at the discretion of the committee) in the running of an event of which the North Wales Car Club is the main promoting club. [11] Championship awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Presentation Night, date to be announced. All named awards remain the property of the North Wales Car Club and are to be returned after eleven months, or on demand, in good order at the recipient s expense. It is a condition of accepting an award that the winner be present to collect that award. [12] Any changes to these regulations will be issued through the Club magazine Torque and will have the same jurisdiction as these regulations. Any dispute regarding the Championship will be settled by the Committee of the North Wales Car Club, whose decision will be final. [13] All correspondence regarding the championships should be sent to the Competitions Secretary whose name will be listed in Torque. DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP [14] The North Wales Car Club Driver s Championship will consist of competitors who drive on events specified in General Regulation 15 below. [15] Qualifying events will be: Clubman status events in which the North Wales Car Club is the main promoting club or has accepted an invitation to compete; National B status events in which the North Wales Car Club is the main promoting club; all events open to member clubs of the ANWCC (Association of North-Western Car Clubs) or WAMC (Welsh Association of Motor Clubs); any event organised under a National B permit as part of a MSA recognised championship, e.g. MSA, BTRDA (provided proof of registration is provided) in all instances the competitor must have entered under North Wales Car Club;

2 All National A and International events. NAVIGATORS CHAMPIONSHIP [16] The North Wales Car Club Navigator s Championship will consist of competitors who navigate or co-drive on rallies included in General Rule 15 above. [17] Qualifying events will be as specified in General Rule 15 above. CLUBMANS CHAMPIONSHIP [18] The North Wales Car Club Clubman s Championship will consist of competitors who compete either as a driver or navigator/co-driver (including club navigation runs). the North Wales Car Club, and/or is a qualifying round of the Glynne Edwards Memorial Championship. Competitors must start not less than four qualifying events to be eligible for an award. LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP [20] The North Wales Car Club Ladies Championship will consist of Lady members of the North Wales Car Club who compete as either a driver or as a navigator/co-driver on events as listed in General Rules 15 and 19. [21] Qualifying events will be as specified in General Rules 15 and 19. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP [22] The North Wales Car Club will promote a Junior Championship divided into two categories, Drivers and Navigator/Co-Drivers. Those eligible shall be members under the age of 21 as at the 1st January [23] Qualifying events shall be all competitive events as in Regulation 15 and 19 above. [24] A competitor s final score will be the best of 8 scores. NOVICE RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP [25] The North Wales Car Club Novice Rally Championship will be divided into two categories Driver and Navigators/Co-Drivers. [26] A Novice competitor is defined as one who, in the role (Driver or Navigator) and discipline (Road Rally, Stage Rally, Forest Rally, Endurance Rally) now entered, has not won a class or overall award on an event of National B or higher status, as at 1st January A Novice Driver accompanied by an Expert Navigator, or vice versa, WILL be eligible for Novice [27] Qualifying events will be all rallies as specified in General Rules 15 and 19. [28] Points will be scored as specified in General Rule 6 above. Drivers and navigators will score separately and it is possible for a NWCC driver to compete with a non-nwcc navigator/codriver, and vice versa. [29] A competitor who is upgraded from Novice status during the championship year will continue to be eligible for championship points until the end of the year. OFF-ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP [30] The North Wales Car Club Off-Road Championship will consist of competitors who drive on Autotests, Production Car Autotests, Autosolos, Car Trials, Sprints or Hillclimbs as specified in General Rules 15 and 19. [31] In the case of a dual-permit event, each section of the event will be taken separately and only sections that comply with General Regulation 15 will be eligible for the championship. [32] A competitor s best 8 scores during the year will count for the final total of which at least two different disciplines must be tackled Autotests, Production Car Autotests, Autosolos, Car Trials, Sprints or Hillclimbs - to qualify for an award. TREASURE HUNT CHAMPIONSHIP [33] The North Wales Car Club Treasure Hunt Championship will consist of competitors who compete on Treasure Hunts and Navigation Runs promoted by the North Wales Car Club solely for its members, or jointly promoted with another club. [34] Qualifying events will be all Treasure Hunts and Navigation Runs in which the North Wales Car Club is a promoting club, or has accepted an invitation. [35] A competitor s best 8 scores will count for the final total. MARSHALS CHAMPIONSHIP [36] The North Wales Car Club Marshals Championship will consist of club members who officiate on events. [37] Eligible events will be all those defined in General Regulation 15 and 19.

3 [38] To be eligible for points, officials must have signed-on for the event. Points will also be awarded to those who have assisted in the running of an event promoted by the North Wales Car Club, at the discretion of the organisers. [39] Points will be scored on the following basis: 3 points for event in which the North Wales Car Club is the main promoting club; 2 points for events in which the North Wales Car Club is requested to supply a group of marshals (e.g. to run a special stage, radio duty or control for another club); 1 point for all other events listed in General Regulation 15 and 19. [40] It is the responsibility of the marshal to obtain written proof of having officiated (from the Chief Marshal, or other official of the event) in order to claim points. ALLROUNDERS CHAMPIONSHIP [41] The Allrounders Championship will consist of club members who attend any event (competitive or social) run by the North Wales Car Club Ltd. [42] Points will be scored as follows: [a] for being a named official in the regulations on a club event [i] 25 points for a National B status event (Cambrian, Cymru Trial, Winter Challenge); [ii] 15 points for a Clubman or Waiver of Permit status event (Clubman Autotest, Navigation Runs); [iii] 8 for a Social event (club quiz, bowling, natter, etc.) [b] competing on a club event - [i] 10 points for a class win on a club competitive event (run under a MSA permit or waiver), down to 1 point for 10th place in class; [ii] 10 points for an overall win on a club navigational event, or a club social competitive event (e.g. quiz, bowling, etc.), down to 1 point for 10th place [c] 10 points for marshalling a club competitive event [d] 5 points for attending a club event (added to points scored under [b] above) [43] To qualify for the Championship Trophy the member must have participated in a minimum of 5 events, one of which must be as an organiser. AWARDS Driver - 1 st Presidents Trophy, plus award; 2 nd Collinge Wheel, plus award Navigator/Co-Driver - 1 st Collinge Trophy, plus award; 2 nd Joan Kendall-Jackson Memorial Trophy, plus award Clubman - 1 st Gott & Wynne Trophy, plus award; 2 nd Andrew Lee Trophy. plus award Lady - 1 st Welsh Tourist Board Trophy, plus award; 2 nd John Lee Trophy, plus award Junior (under 21) - 1 st Driver an award; 1 st Navigator/Co-Driver an award Junior (Junior membership) - 1 st Overall an award Novice Rally - 1 st Driver - J&J Jones Solid Fuels Trophy, plus award; 1 st Navigator/Co-Driver - Mapman Trophy, plus award Off-Road - 1 st Driver an award Treasure Hunt - 1 st Overall, an award Marshal - 1 st RAC Trophy, plus award Allrounder - 1 st The John H Roberts Cambrian Trophy, plus award [44] Named trophies are to be held for 11 months or until return requested, and remain the property of the North Wales Car Club Ltd.
