We offer a full range of stock and prescription lenses along with fashion and sunglass frames. The majority of our customers are independent opticians in Northern Ireland however, we also market our products throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. Our aim is to be the benchmark independent company within our industry and to offer the highest levels of service to our customers. To this end, we work with the top lens and frame suppliers, we invest heavily in specialist equipment and seek to closely support our customers. 23 Terms & Conditions In these conditions, United Optical Laboratories means United Optical Laboratories Limited. The Buyer means the individual person, Firm or Company with whom United Optical Laboratories Limited contracts to sell the Goods. The Goods means the United Optical Laboratories Limited products, materials and/or services that are subject to these conditions. 1.0 GENERAL 1.1 All work is carried out to the British and International Standards. Every effort is made by United Optical Laboratories to meet delivery dates. A fixed date shall not be a condition of supply of the goods. 1.2 Late delivery shall not be grounds for cancellation or refusal to take delivery of the goods. United Optical Laboratories shall not be liable for any loss including consequential loss or damage resulting from such delays. 1.3 While every care and attention will be taken in the handling of all customer s property, United Optical Laboratories cannot accept any liability for any breakage or damage to the property, that may occur while in the possession of United Optical Laboratories. 1.4 United Optical Laboratories reserves the right to make a reasonable charge for any costs incurred, in partially processing an order that is then cancelled by the Buyer. However, United Optical Laboratories acknowledges that occasionally alterations need to be made to prescriptions and therefore cancellations cannot be avoided. Every attempt will be made to comply with the Buyer s request without charge prior to any work being carried out. 1.5 The Buyer shall determine the suitability of the Goods for their intended use and the Buyer shall not rely upon any representations made by or on behalf of United Optical Laboratories. 1.6 United Optical Laboratories reserves the right to make any changes to the specification of the Goods, which are required in order to conform with any applicable statutory or EU requirement provided that they do not materially affect their quality or their performance. 1.7 The Goods remain the property of United Optical Laboratories until payment is received in full. 1.8 United Optical Laboratories cannot be held responsible for any occurrence arising from a typographical or other error, which appears within this price list. 1.9 The placing of an Order of Ophthalmic Lenses listed within this Prist List implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions Improvements to product specification and development in technology may lead to changes in catalogue details. E & OE. 2.0 GENERAL 2.1 Product Range Charts: The charts show the mamimum combined power that is available. They indicate the total power in the highest meridan that can be produced. For example a maximum combined power of shows that a / or / would not be possible within the range. 2.2 The mamimum combined powers now listed are the highest that United Optical Laboratories can manufacture. If in doubt please contact Technical Support. 2.3 Prescribed Prism: The majority of United Optical Laboratories lenes can be supplied with Prescribed Prism up to 6 and many can go beyond this. Availability of higher powers depends on the lens power and diameter. To order lenses with high Prismatic powers please contact the Technical Support prior to placing an order. 3.0 Price format and pricing 3.1 From time to time United Optical Laboratories republishes details of their Optical products, specifications and prices. 3.2 All prices quoted are per lens glazed into a full metal or plastic frame are for the + (plus) cylinder transposition. 3.3 Supra & rimless order glazing will incurr an additional charge. 3.4 Where a lens supplied is a smaller diameter than shown in this Price List the charge for that Lens will be that of the published Diameter. 3.5 Certain lenses are supplied Coated as Standard, and in these cases the Coating is included in the Lens price. Where applicable they are clearly indicated in the main product pages. 3.6 The price to be paid for all Goods will be the United Optical Laboratories list price as at the date when the order is accepted by United Optical Laboratories. 3.7 VAT, postage & packing charges are not included in the Price List and will be charged extra according to the value and weight as applicable. 3.8 Volume and value discount arrangments are subject to individual negotiation. Settlement discounts are available and based on monthly turnover. 4.0 Returns 3.1 Any goods returned must be accompanied by a copy of the Original Order Form. Failure to do so will cause delays and may lead to the rejection of the Buyer s claim. 5.0 standards 5.1 All product is supplied to the appropriate British or International Standard, as applicable. 5.2 All lens meet the key requirements defined in European Directive 93/42 (CE Regulations). Glazing is in accordance with the requirements and as such, we do not glaze new frames which are not marked with the CE mark. This does not refer to second-hand frames. 5.3 Opticians are required to give patients information and advice on correct use, care and limitations of their lenses. 5.4 Lenses are deemed unsuitable for driving if light transmission is less than 8% or if the tint affects the perception and recognition of traffic lights. For night driving, transmission should not be less than 80%. 5.5 Guarantee terms are available upon request and will be honoured so long as the product supplied is not subject to patient abuse. 5.6 Terms of the Varilux Guarantee or other varifocal nontolerance guarantees are available upon request.
