Release half of the run down when PU verbalizes his arrival Makes call only if play coming towards you W. Double play set up Square to the fielder fielding the baseball Take one or two steps toward him With the throw, do a cross over step toward the base ( no back pedal) Stay until the next fielder has released the baseball ( watch for transfer drop) Slide step with the throw to the next base. X. Proper mechanic pull foot, swipe tag in A position Read the throw as being bad Move counterclockwise back toward the line Get angle to look up the line Y. Infield Fly mechanic Calling at the apex of flight Proper visual and verbal signal Fielder under the baseball Allow plate umpire to call the lines and in front of the pitcher s mound. Z.
