5 AAA Rules Major and AAA Rules: The Fall Baseball is established for youth baseball instruction and training. It is open to youth who will be eligible to play in Little League Baseball, Major and Minor/AAA programs, in spring of the following year. Little League rules will apply to both divisions with the following exceptions noted below: I. Pitching A. There will be a 2-inning limit per pitcher per game. Once a player is removed from pitcher, that player cannot pitch again in the same game (except as in rule I.B.3). LLB pitch count rules apply as well; the honor system will apply, one team will not track another team s pitch count. B. Walks (four balls or a hit batter is consider a walk) 1. Four straight walks will result in a pitching change. 2. five walks by the same pitcher in one inning will result in a pitching change 3. If any of these conditions occur in that pitchers 1 st inning the pitcher will be allowed to pitch in a later inning in the same game II. All players will bat in the line-up whether they are playing in the field or not. There is free defensive substitution. III. There will be a 5 run limit per inning limit, except for the sixth inning which will have no run limit for the team behind. IV. There will be open base coaching. There can be 2 adult base coaches or 1 adult and 1 player. This is left to the discretion of the head coach. V. Adult coaches can warm up pitchers in between innings. VI. It is suggested that all players wear protective cups, it is a requirement for catchers to wear the protective cups. The Little League rules govern. VII. There will be a 1 hour 45 minute time limit on games. For late games during the school week, no inning will start after 9:15 p.m. VIII. There will be no protest. All decisions will be made on the field by the umpiring crew. IX. Each team is responsible for providing one new baseball for each game. No RIF balls will be used. X. If one team is short of players, that team is allowed to borrow players from the opposing team or another team in the same division. Teams are allowed to start with eight players if necessary. Borrowed players cannot pitch. XI. Teams will be formed into two age groups: Major Division league ages 10, 11, and 12; and Minor/AAA Division league ages 9, 10, and 11. Notes: 1. Teams are home when playing at their league site. For games between teams from the same league the home team will be decided by a coin flip. 2. There will be a minimum of one umpire for AAA games and two umpires for Major games. 3. Rain-out determination will be made at game time by the league responsible for each site. 4. Rain-outs will not be rescheduled unless more than two games are lost due to rain. 5. Umpire scheduling and payment is the responsibility of each league site. 6. Each team is responsible for providing one new baseball for each game.
6 Coach Pitch Rules The Fall Baseball is established for youth baseball instruction and training. It is open to youth who will be eligible to play in District 8 Little League Baseball coach pitch programs, in spring of the following year (2009). Little League rules will apply with the following exceptions noted below: 1. Batting Order: All players will bat in the line-up whether they are playing in the field or not. 2. Courtesy runners are allowed for reasons of injury - the last player that has been called out for the offensive team will be the courtesy runner, even if it occurred in the prior inning. If a courtesy runner is needed before an out has been registered in the game, the opposing manager will choose the courtesy runner. 3. Defensive Play: There will be 10 players on the field defensively, this includes four outfielders. There is free substitution of defensive players (i.e. there is no limit on the number of times a player can leave and re-enter the games in defensive positions). The defensive player in the pitcher position must begin play with at least one foot in the 10 foot radius circle of the pitcher s mound. For the play to end with runners left on base, the ball must be returned to any player who has control of the ball and one foot within the 10 foot radius circle of the pitcher s mound. The catcher must wear full gear; however, the glove may be his own and does not have to be a catcher s mitt. Defensive player excessive encroachment is not permitted. Defensive base players should not encroach over six feet in front (toward home plate) of the base paths. Coaches should teach players to play in their proper playing positions. 4. Duration of Game: Six (6) innings, Game or time limit of one hour and thirty minutes. 5. Pitching: A coach will pitch the ball to his team under the following rules: The coach pitcher must be in contact with the 10 foot radius circle that encircles the 46 foot pitching rubber. Coaches may pitch from the kneeling position. A batter will have seven pitches in which to put the ball in play. A batter is called out on three strikes. If, on the seventh pitch, the batter has not put the ball in play, he will be called out. A batter will be allowed to continue beyond the seventh pitch only if he bats the ball foul. Obviously a foul tip caught is an out. 6. Each team should have at least ten (10) players present for normal play of game. If one team is short of players, that team is allowed to borrow players from the opposing team or another team in the same division. Teams are allowed to start with eight players if necessary. 7. Side Retired: Three outs or combination 6 run/out; whichever comes first. 8. Stealing: No stealing allowed. 9. Bunting: No intentional bunting allowed. A ball in fair play, regardless on distance hit, shall be considered fair if the batter has attempted a full swing. 10. Infield Fly Rule: There is no infield fly rule at this level. 11. Walks: There are no walks. A batter hit by a pitch will not be awarded first base. 12. Coaches Positions: Two adult base coaches are allowed. Defensive players may be coached from one coach in the outfield. 13. Umpire: Managers will be responsible for umpiring the game or selecting an alternate. 14. Runners cannot advance more than 1 base on an overthrow, this is at the runners own risk. However, if an attempt is made to get the runner out at the next base and the throw results in another overthrow, the runner may advance again. 15. RIF-10 will be used.
