Dear Friends, It is with great pleasure that we update you on the exciting new baseball field expansion, Golden Valley Fielding Dreams, Building a Baseball Legacy. We are delighted to report that we have raised over 90% of the funds needed to break ground and with this letter we invite you to help us build a baseball legacy and raise the last 10% of the $467,500 needed for the project. Our gratitude goes out to all those who have contributed thus far to our fundraising efforts. Funds have come from the following: a) Hennepin County Youths Sports Program $400,000 b) Minnesota Twins $10,000 c) Golden Valley Little League: - Auction and Fundraiser $10,000 - Coach Dick Isacson Memorial $4,500 We have a very exciting way to participate in Golden Valley s Fielding Dreams baseball project. Buy a personal paver and help us pave the way to a successful fundraising campaign. Purchase these pavers in honor of your Little League son or daughter, a coach that made an impact or put your family s name on it. We hope you can look back on your family s Little League experience with great pleasure and fond memories. For the players it is about the game, the field, the lights, the announcing, and yes, the win or the loss. But as parents we understand that the Little League experience is about so much more than just the game. Little League players learn values that can aid them for the rest of their lives. They develop confidence that will carry over to many areas of their lives, they learn to work with others

2 and be a part of a team. Baseball keeps kids physically active, provides summer activities and they learn to win or lose graciously. The Little League experience is priceless as shared in the testimony of Little League participants: I ve had the good fortune to participate in Golden Valley Little League for twelve seasons, which is more than one-fourth of the baseball seasons for which I have been alive. I started as a player in the 1970s, and have been a GVLL parent and coach for the past eight years. GVLL teaches our children how to play the beautiful game of baseball, but that s only the beginning. Through GVLL, young and old learn and experience the lifelong values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and community. Honeywell Field is our gathering place for safe and enriching fun, challenges, and rewards. Please lend your support to ensure that this community center can serve Golden Valley youth and families for generations to come. ~Lee Freidman I had an amazing experience participating in Golden Valley Little League. My coaches were inspirational and a lot of fun. They taught me so much about the game and helped me improve my baseball skills. I also had a chance to meet a lot of kids through baseball. I am excited for the new fields and for the kids that get to play on them. ~Nicholas Weber Golden Valley is Fielding Dreams for future Little Leaguers, providing a new and expanded field that we can all take pride in. It is our dream that we will successfully host tournaments and teams from surrounding areas. It is our dream that this will increase funds for the Little League program as well as provide a positive economic impact for the nearby businesses.
