Today marks the finale of the Dodgers six-game road trip (3-2) and following this afternoon s game, the club will return to Los Angeles for its final series before the All-Star break, a four-game set against the Padres. Los Angeles has the National League s best road record at (.617) and is unbeaten in its last seven road series (6-0-1), last losing a series on the road at Arizona, May The Dodgers need a win today to avoid being swept for the first time in their 30 th series of the season. THE STOPPER: Zack Greinke will make his third consecutive start following a Dodger loss, going 2-0 and allowing only three runs (two earned runs) in 15.0 innings (1.20 ERA) in his previous two starts, and has been helping Los Angeles bounce back after losses since joining the club last year. Since 2013, Greinke has made 20 starts following a Dodger loss and has posted a 14-2 record with 1.92 ERA (28 ER/131.0 IP), while the team has gone 17-3 in those games. Today will mark Greinke s final start before the All-Star break. With a victory, he would become the 19 th Los Angeles Dodger to post 12 or more wins before the All-Star break and the first to do so since 1991, when Ramon Martinez was Greinke is tied for the National League wins lead (11-4) and also ranks among the league leaders in ERA (2.66, 7 th ) and strikeouts (119, 5 th ). SWINGING FOR THE FENCES: Dodger outfielder Yasiel Puig will compete in the 2014 Gillette Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14. The announcement was made last night on ESPN s SportsCenter by National League Derby captain Troy Tulowitzki. Puig, who has 12 home runs on the season, will compete in his first career Derby after hitting 19 home runs in his first big league season in His 31 homers in his first two seasons are currently the fourth-most by a Cuban-born player in MLB history behind Cespedes (49), Jose Canseco (38) and Alexei Ramirez (36). Puig will become the fifth player (seventh appearance) in Dodger history to take part in the Derby, joining Mike Piazza ( ), Raul Mondesi (1995), Hee-Seop Choi (2005) and Matt Kemp ( ).
