Presentation on INTEGRATION OF FEEDER SERVICES WITH BRTS CORRIDOR- MUMBAI-PUNE ROAD 5th Dec UMI, New Delhi Mr. S. S. Savane and Mr. D. R. Jundhare
WE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE Introduction to Pimpri Chinchwad and Proposed BRTS System The Objectives of Project Methodology Data Collection from PMPML Field Surveys Analysis Results & Recommendations
PIMPRI CHINCHWAD AT A GLANCE Located on North of Pune Population: 1.8 million (Census 2011) Area of 181 Sq. Km. Area under Green Cover: 27%
INTRODUCTION Pimpri Chinchwad is a industrial town and twin city of Pune in Maharashtra State Population of Pimpri Chinchwad is 18 lakhs growing exponentially at the rate of 72% in last two decades Pimpri Chinchwad has undertaken to develop 45 Km BRTS network in the city to enhance Public Transport The four main BRTS corridors namely, Mumbai-Pune road, Aundh-Ravet Road, Nashik Phata to Wakad and Kalewadi Phata to Dehu-Alandi road are being developed.
CITY TRANSPORT INFORMATION Pune & Pimpri Chinchwad are twin cities. PMPML (SPV) is City Bus Operating Agency established in 2007 under Company Act. PMPML is having 1600 buses out of that 650 buses are procured under JnNURM in last 3 years. Pune & PCMC is developing the BRTS corridor to strengthen the Public Transport.
BRTS PROJECTS IN PCMC AREA Total BRTS Corridor Length = Km. AUNDH RAWET ROAD Length = Km. Tender Cost = PUNE MUMBAI ROAD Length = Km. Tender Cost = KALEWADI ROAD Length = Km. Tender Cost = Second Intersection First Intersection NASHIK PHATA ROAD Length = 7.90 Km. Tender Cost =206.80

OBJECTIVES To list out the feeder routes to old Mumbai - Pune BRTS corridor To find out probable number of commuters of each feeder route To plan the frequency of feeder services To decide the fleet for feeder services To decide route structure To suggest the fare for feeder services
NEED FOR THE STUDY At present 67 buses per hour are plying on old MumbaiPune BRTS road Bunching of buses at intersection Buses running with less passengers after leaving Mumbai-Pune BRTS road Earning per bus is less through fare collections Inefficient Public Transport
PARATRANSIT Paratransit(Community Transport) is an alternative mode of flexible passenger transportation that does not follow fixed routes or schedules. Typically minibuses are used to provide paratransit service, but share auto rickshaw are also important providers. Paratransit services may vary considerably on the degree of flexibility they provide their customers. At their simplest they may consist of a taxi or small bus that will run along a more or less defined route and then stop to pick up or discharge passengers on request.
