2 SUPPLEMENTS What supplement companies don t want you to KNOW Nearly 75% of the world population takes some type of supplement each day. There are literally thousands of brands and millions of products to choose from. Is there really a difference between them? The FDA allows questionable fillers and binders such as; cork by products, chemical FD&C dyes, sodium benzoate, dextrose, ethycellulose, and propylene glycol to name only a few. Although these ingredients may be legal, what are the nutritional benefits? Reports have indicate that some of these ingredients can be toxic at certain levels with prolong use. The FDA does not monitor the contents or purity of a supplement nor the source of a nutritional ingredient. 2
3 SUPPLEMENTS Purity: What does it really mean? Defined: The quality or state of being pure or unmixed with any other element. In most cases, Impure ingredients are used by many companies. The FDA does not require manufacturers to list these ingredients (on the nutritional labels) if they are not added when making the final dosage form. Many times the raw materials may contain only 90% or less of the listed ingredients along with 10% or more corn starch and lactose. Lactose and corn are known allergens for some people. These items have been known to cause digestive disturbances and weaken the immune system. A conscientious company will not compromise the integrity of a product with such raw materials. There are 3 types of grades but, we are going to talk about 1 here for the purpose of this article. 3
4 SUPPLEMENTS 1. Pharmaceutical Grade supplements meet exacting pharmaceutical production standards. Pharmaceutical Grade supplements are manufactured to a very high standards of potency, purity, dissolution, and a higher degree of bioavailability the degree at which the vitamin is absorbed into a living system.the term pharmaceutical grade was originally taken from the standard of certification of the facilities in which pharmaceutical grade supplements were made. Pharmaceutical grade also refers to the ingredients in the supplement. Pharmaceutical grade vitamins meet the highest standards for purity and concentration. 4
5 SUPPLEMENTS Finally, pharmaceutical grade supplements have a high bioavailability. This means that when you take a pharmaceutical grade products, your body absorbs an optimal amount of nutrients. Better nutrient absorption means greater health benefits. If you want to know what supplements to buy, look for the GMP or CPMG stamps on the container. These two stamps indicate that they were manufactured in a pharmaceutical company. Be careful with products that have proprietary blends. 6 How many times have you seen the muscle magazines with the ripped and shredded guys on the front cover or inside? These particular magazines do their very best into making you think that if you take supplement xyz you are going to get crazy amounts of muscle and get ripped and shredded beyond your wildest dreams. FALSE! Don t buy into these false claims. Supplements are important and I m going to show you the best ones to take. What I m going to reveal to you are supplements that will help you with your muscle building gains but, they are not to be depended on until your diet and weight training are at least 90% dialed in. It takes hard work to get a world class body and if you dedicate yourself to this program you will make a huge change in yourself that could potentially take you beyond what you could have imagined. 6
7 SUPPLEMENTS I RECOMMEND One of the best places to buy supplements online is Bodybuilding.com. They have a wide variety of supplements and also have a very fast delivery rate. You can find everything that you need there and more. I would encourage you to browse around and see it for yourself. Remember not to get to carried away with all the information there because supplements should not be at the top of your list. Only when your training and nutrition are about 90% dialed in can you take more supplements. On the next page you will find all the supplements I use personally. I have received great results from taking them and I m pretty sure you will to. There are many different brands you can experiment with but try to look for the ones that have the CGMP or FDA stamped on the container or bottle. Without these stamps you will never know what you are getting in the container. Be aware of proprietary blends. These don t reveal the ingredients in the container. 7
8 BCAA s BCAA s stand for Branch Chain Amino Acids. This supplement is great for recovery. They are the building blocks for protein. It is believed that they aid in the recovery of muscle and reduce fatigue during intense exercise. What s great about this supplement is if you are dieting and you put yourself in a caloric deficit, you ll be able to hold on to your muscle gains. Sometimes you got to be careful when dieting because you don t want to lose all that heard earned muscle. i would recommend that you take at the very least 20 grams during any physical activity. 8
9 PROTEIN (Whey & Casein) Protein is a must and is the most widely used supplement today. It s vital that you consume whey protein within 30 minutes after your workout. After your workout is when your body needs protein fast, why? Whey protein is a quick releasing protein that helps rebuild muscle after you have broken them down in the gym. That being said, protein in the form of liquid is optimal for muscle recovery. Casein protein is a slow digesting protein designed to take at night. As you sleep the protein digests slowly sending your body all the necessary nutrients it needs to help in 9
10 CREATINE Creatine is another supplement that is widely used among bodybuilders and athletes looking to increase size and strength. When taking creatine the old school way is to do a loading phase of grams for 5 days. After the 5 days you can start a maintenance phase of about 5-10 grams per day. Creatine is best used with juice or you could use water. I would recommend you take 5 grams before and 5 grams after your workout during the maintenance phase. 10
11 11 KARBOLYN (Carbohydrate s) Karbolyn is a unique carbohydrate drink that is designed to be consumed during your workout to spike insulin levels. Karbolyn is believed to be faster acting than sugar. Why do we want to spike insulin during are workout? When you put a lot of stress on your body during your workout you tend to raise cortisol levels which is responsible for being the stress hormone leading to fat gain. We don t want to do that so when insulin is spiked, we can keep those fat hormones or cortisol levels low.
12 PRE-WORKOUT (NO2) There are so many NO2 products out there and can cost you some money. I ve tried them all and some do work. Where they stop working is when you jump from one pre-workout drink to another without cycling. I am a prime example of what can happen if you don t cycle on and off. Your body will adapt so fast that none of these products will work anymore. Your tolerance will go through the roof. Many people make the mistake of not cycling off for a few weeks. They jump from one to the other. 12
13 FISH OIL Fish oil has so many health benefits. It has been know to improve brain function, lower triglycerides, cholesterol, and reduce high blood pressure. Fish oils is commonly recommended to bodybuilders and athletes to reduce inflammation. Want to reduce the soreness the next day after a workout? Fish oils can help with that. Note: Make sure to get a high quality fish oil with a high dose of EPA and DHA. I would not recommend you pick up a bottle of fish oil from your local supermarket, the quality is not that great. Go to your health food store. 13
14 14 TESTOSTERONE BOOSTERS Test Boosters are great for those that need a little boost in the gym. Natural test boosters have been known to increase sex drive, aggression in the gym, and heightened energy levels. Get the ones that have testofen (fenugreek extract). These testosterone boosters are great for elevating testosterone naturally. Remember to cycle on and off of these as well. There are many brands to choose from. Your free to
15 15 STACKS This is a great stack that I discovered. It has helped me to gain weight along with my diet. This stack is called the Transformation Stack. It s glycobol, HGH Pro, and Testo Pro When taking the glycobol you must consume a significant amount of carbohydrates. If you don t you may lose weight which is ok if that is your goal. Many athletes have used this stack for gaining muscle mass while cutting. It s kind of like putting the finishing touches on your physique.
