3 WELCOME TO THE 2017 IMPERIUM CUP It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in this very prestigious Olympic boxing tournament. In collaboratio n with the city of Terrebonne, Boxe-Quebec, and Fighting Canada, the Imperium boxing club is proud to presen t the fifth edition of this unique event. The organizers goal is to permit competitors as well as amateurs, to live this boxing competition to the extreme. During the three days of the tournament, May 19, 20, 21, 2017 at la Cite du Sport de Terrebonne, boxers from the four corner s of Quebec, Canada, and other parts of the world, will give body and soul in hopes of bringing home the much sought after Imperium Cup. 4 SCHEDULE The tournament takes place over a period of three consecutive days: May 19, 20, 21, Friday, May 20th, 2016 (Quarter-finals) 12:00pm - 14:00pm 5:30pm 6:00pm 6:30pm Accreditation, weigh-in, medical Meeting of trainers Opening ceremony Preliminary series Saturday, May 21st, 2016 (Semi-finals) 7:00-9:00am Weigh-in and medical 12:00pm 6:00pm - 11:00pm Semi-finals (day) Semi-finals (night) Sunday, May 22nd, 2016 (Finals) 7:00-9:00am Weigh-in and medical 12:00-4:00pm Finals NEW SINCE 2015: CATEGORY BEGINNER Since 2015, the boxers who have accumulated between 0 and 5 fights will have the chance to participate in the lmperium Cup 2016 competition. The organizers announced the creation of a new category which will give an opportunity to new fighters to experience a high-level international competition environment. Right from the beginning of their career, this new category will allow them to quickly assess their ability to manage stress in competition IMPERIUM CUP

5 TOURNAMENT PROCESS CATEGORY OFF TOURNAMENT Boxers of all ages and all levels who want a chance to box in a major tournament can do so by enrolling in the category off tournament. Therefore, they do not fight in order to win the Cup, but in that of gaining experience of fighting and face of boxers of different calibers. Off Tournament category may also be available to boxers who will be eliminated from the Cup. They will be able to register on site if they wish to continue to box in order to enjoy this weekend full of competitions and new rivalries to continue to perfect their fighting techniques. CATEGORY: 8 BOXERS OR LESS The tournament takes place in the form of simple elimination. The winning boxer goes on to the next round. The losing boxer is eliminated. However, any boxer who is eliminated is permitted to participate in combats that are not part of the tournament. CATEGORY: 9 BOXERS AND UP All boxers take part in two combats and have these points attributed to the preliminary fights. Any win gives the boxer a total of 3 points and is allowed to a supplementary bonus based on the verdict of the combat. VERDICTS Split decision: 1 point Unanimous decision: 2 points Stop by referee: 3 points Example A boxer winning a fight by unanimous decision will receive a total of 5 points. A boxer who wins a fight by split decision will receive a total of 4 points. Any boxer who wins based on referee interference will recei ve the maximu m amount of points, 6. The four boxers with the most points will move on to the final round. If there is a tie between 2 boxers, the point distribution will be determined by the management committee of the FQBO. The two boxers who finish at the top of the leaderboard will fight in the finals in order to determine the winner of the up. Those in third and fourth place will fight for the consolation prize. Please note that the eliminated boxers are permitted to participate in combats that are not part of the tournament IMPERIUM CUP 5

6 RULES All boxers must have a valid boxing book and be the required age to take part in the competition of the category they have registered in. Any novice category fighters cannot have taken part in more than ten fights in amateur boxing. Any boxer is permitted to change their respective weight category until the very end of the registration period, which end on Friday, May 12, 2017 at midnight. Once the draw has taken place, the fighter must meet the weight requirements of that given category that he is registered in. All trainers must have a valid trainer s card. The boxer must wear a red or blue camisole. A neutral colored helmet will be tolerated as long as it is approved by the AIBA. Boxers in the Masters category will fight with a helmet and 16 ounce gloves. All combatants without exception will have to wear a helmet to fight. AGE AND WEIGHT CATEGORY IMPERIUM CUP

7 The following criteria apply in the event that fighters are not in the same weight category: JUNIOR AND SENIOR 3 kg: male less than 52 kg, female less than 60 kg 4 kg: male between 52 kg and 69 kg, female between 60 kg and 69 kg 6 kg: male between 69 kg and 91 kg, female between 69 kg and 81 kg Male: No maximum weight difference if both boxers are more than 91 kg. Female: No maximum weight difference if both boxers are more than 81 kg. Age difference, experience, and number of fights must be taken into consideration. BENJAMIN, CADET AND JUVENILE Male and female 3 kg if less than 54 kg 4 kg if more than 54 kg and less than 70 kg 5 kg if more than 70 kg and less than 80 kg No weight difference if both boxers are more than 80 kg. Price per athlete: $35*(Unlimited access to the boxing gym and its equipment included) Cost per trainer: $30*(A t-shirt will be provided and unlimited access to the boxing gym and its equipment included) For late registrations, between April 22nd, 2017 and May 12, 2017 midnight. Price per athlete: $50* Cost per trainer: $30* (A t-shirt will be provided) - The trainer who registers the greatest amount of athletes will be eligible to receive a cash prize. *Please note that applicable taxes are included in the registration fees.
