2 Reporter: What is your favorite color? Mr. Kestly: Blue. Reporter: What is your favorite food? Why? Mr. Kestly: Chocolate chip cookie dough because it is so satisfying. Reporter: What schools did you go to? Mr. Kestly: Northwestern College, Hamlen, and Saint Mary s. Reporter: Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names? Mr. Kestly: Cat- Abby. She is chubby. Reporter: Why did you become a teacher? Mr. Kestly: I like learning and working with kids. There are always new challenges in teaching. Reporter: What do you like most about Basswood? Mr. Kestly: I like the families and I have a great view. (From his window) Reporter: What is your favorite book? Mr. Kestly: Books by Malcom Gladwell: Blink, Outliers, Mutiny on the bounty, and The Hunger Games. We thank Mr. Kestly for his time. Fun Stuff M & M Oatmeal Cookie Recipe

3 What you need: ¾ cup flour ½ teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup chopped walnuts (opt.) 1 cup mini M & Ms ¾ cup brown sugar 1 ¼ cups uncooked quick oats ¾ cup butter softened 1 egg ¾ teaspoon vanilla Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, M & Ms, brown sugar, and oats. Set mixture aside. In a large bowl, beat butter, egg, and vanilla until well blended. Stir in dry mixture until well blended. Roll into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes. BRAIN TEASERS! 1. Froggy got stuck on a fence. He can t hop down. 7 Ashley- So, have you had any tournaments yet? NICKY AND TANNER- Yes we have, 3 Ashley- Tell me about one of them NICKY AND TANNER- Okay. In one of our tournaments we got 5th place Ashley- What did you get for a prize? NICKY AND TANNER- Everyone got medals and the whole team got a big trophy Ashley- How many games did you play? NICKY AND TANNER- 5 and we won 4 of them Ashley- Nicky, did you get any shut-outs? NICKY AND TANNER- Yes, 3 Ashley- What was the 4th game like? NICKY AND TANNER- Well with 18 seconds left Riley (your goalie s brother) sniped the goalie and it hit the top post and both of the sides, then it went in, and then it came out Ashley- What was the 5th game like? NICKY AND TANNER- The 1st goal was when we passed it in front of the net and we almost slapshot it went in. The second goal hit the glove and went in. The rest of the goals were snipes REPORTER- What were all the scores for all the games? NICKY AND TANNER- 1st game- 1-3 loss 2nd game- 4-0 win 3rd game- 6-0 win 4th game- 1-0 win 5th game- 6-2 win
