1 Alvin Youth YellowJackets & Stingers 2018 Season WAIVERS/NOTICES Parent Code of Ethics : I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following this Parents' Code of Ethics Pledge: I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event. I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win. I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment. I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events. I will remember that the game is for youth-not adults. I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability Jacket Football Rules Membership and Responsibility: All players must have all registration fees paid in full at equipment pick-up to be able to receive equipment. Any player in need of scholarship support must submit a written request prior to registration to the board President and Athletic Director. All players are expected to attend all practices and games. Any player missing three practices on any week before their first game, or practices on any week after their first game will not be allowed to play on that week s game. Parents must be sure that all players are at practice on time and are picked up promptly after practice is over.
2 Uniforms: Should the player quit before the season is over, all equipment will be turned in to the athletic director immediately. The game jersey belongs to the player after the first game is complete. All equipment shall be turned into the head coach at the end of the last game. Please bring a change of clothes to the last game so that your child will have clothes to change into. No jewelry (watches, rings, earrings, necklaces, etc.) are allowed during practices or games. No child shall abuse or misuse football equipment in ANY form or fashion. Equipment should be properly taken care of or it will be taken up. Insurance: All football players and coaches are insured by the conference through their booster club. Anyone that has not filled out a GCPFL application will not be allowed on the practice and/or game field. In the event an injury does occur and the Player Safety Coordinator is unable to locate any parent or relative, your child will be taken to the nearest medical facility with the medical form you filled out and have on file with the booster club. Games: All games will be played on Saturdays unless a playoff tie-breaker occurs at the end of the season or we have to make up a rainout day. Players are required to be at the game with ample time for the coach to make proper player assignments. Parents, siblings, or other guests are NOT allowed on the sidelines or field. If you need to give your child a message, please see a board member. If any coach is talked to during the game, that coach could be ejected from the game. Practices: Practice will be held Monday through Friday from 6:15 till 7:45 until our first game has been played. We will then practice on Monday and Tuesday from 6:15 till 7:45 and Thursday 6:15 till 8:15pm. No child shall be allowed to participate, in practice or games, without proper or complete equipment. No player or parent shall verbally or physically abuse any of the coaching staff or board members of the Alvin Youth Yellow Jackets. Parents, siblings, or other guests are NOT allowed on the field. If you need to give your child a message, please see a board member. A violation of these rules may result in expulsion from the club. This will be at the discretion of the Club President. POLICY REGARDING PLAYER/PARENT/GUEST BEHAVIOR The Alvin Independent School District has a "NO TOLERANCE" Policy regarding the use of Tobacco, Alcohol, Drugs and Weapons on school district property.
