For the entire month of March, MG Student Council will be collecting canned goods and non -perishable items to help stock the CG Food Pantry. Your child may bring in the items to his/ her classroom and a student council representative will pick them up weekly. No Contest...No Ice Cream Party...No Extra Recess. Just Maple Grove kids wanting to help, just for the fun of it!! HAPPENINGS AT THE YMCA Spring Soccer at the Y The Baxter YMCA is now having sign-ups for their 3-13 year old Co-Ed Spring Soccer League. Registration is open until Sunday, March 4th. To date, we have earned over $3,700!! Please continue to send in your Box Tops with your student; be sure to print off the attached collection sheet. Don t forget...the classroom that submits the most Box Tops this semester will be rewarded with $25 for their classroom library. We will be keeping track of submissions through the end of April. Also, be sure to check out the Box Tops website (btfe.com) for some click and earn opportunities and sweepstakes. There are some Collection Sheets attached to this newsletter for your convenience. 4 Time to start planning some camps for the summer... Summer will be here before you know it! Register for swim lessons at the Baxter YMCA. Winter II session runs February 27 - April 15 and Spring session begins April 16 - June 3. Don t miss out on making sure you and your children are ready for the water. CGLL Baseball is available to players ages 4-18 as of April 30, On-line registration is now underway on our website at To avoid late fees or being put on a waiting list please register before March 1, Mark your calendars for CAMP INVENTION! June 4-8, 2012 This weeklong science camp focuses on eco-friendly activities that enhance creativity and strengthen science literacy skills. While participating in five exciting modules, students will set sail to the magnificent island of Magnetropolis and explore the powers of magnetism while building boats, buildings, and towers! Camp will be held at Center Grove Elementary School during the week of June 4-8 from 9:00am-3:30pm. 8 Hey Maple Grove Parents! Want to take a night off? The YMCA program will be holding a Parent s Night out so you can do just that. Drop your child off anytime after 5pm at Maple Grove Elementary on March 2, and pick them up anytime before 9pm. We will have pizza and a drink for dinner, games on the Wii, popcorn and a movie, board games, fun activities in the gym, crafts, and more!! All proceeds for this evening will go toward the Y-For-All campaign, helping those less fortunate utilize valuable YMCA programs! All YMCA staff has completed extensive child care training and are CPR and First Aid Certified Details March 2nd, from 5-9 pm $10 per child Siblings welcome! (Potty trained and up only please) Questions?
