When parents arrive for lunch, all the children in your family will be called to eat with you. Please notify us in the office when you arrive and we will call the students. Families will pay for this luncheon at the door or online. Parent\Teacher The parent\teacher conferences are scheduled for November 9th and 10th. Conferences: Notices were sent home giving you the time of your conference. First Quarter report cards will only be given to parent (s) at these conferences. We tried our best to accommodate your request, but with 172families, some had to be given different times. Please call the office if there s a question about your assigned time. 2 Uniform Reminder: Please refer to pages 7-9 of our school handbook concerning all uniform requirements for students in grades PK - 8. This includes information concerning socks, shoes, make-up, jewelry, hair cut, P. E. uniforms, etc. All students are expected to comply with every aspect of the dress code everyday. Book Fair: The first of two book fairs for this school year starts Friday, October 28. The children will have the opportunity to purchase books during their library time through November 4. They may also make purchases on Fun Day only if accompanied by a parent. This would be a great time to think about books for Christmas gifts! Tuition Aid: Tuition Assistance Applications for : The Archdiocese has chosen TADS Financial Aid and Assessment to manage the application and assessment process for Tuition Assistance. Any family who feels that they may need tuition assistance for the school year, either from the diocese or through our school, must complete and submit an application with TADS. The applications are available now at The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, December 2, Basketball Tournament: Our varsity boys and girls teams kick-off the season at the Tip-Off Tournament on November 5th at Kings Christian Academy. Our cheerleaders will be there with lots of school spirit and we hope students and parents will support the teams also. Good Luck Crusaders!! After School Activities: Now that basketball and cheerleading practices have started, it is important for parents to know that students cannot be dropped off for these activities until a coach is in the gym for supervision. They must wait in cars until coaches arrive. No child may be left on school property without adult supervision. This includes younger siblings. Also, our Extended Care program has sole use of the school playground equipment until 5:30 and the supervising teachers are not responsible for other children. We appreciate your cooperation with this safety and insurance issue. All students and parents involved in basketball or cheerleading are to enter and leave the gym through the side gym door, DO NOT USE THE FRONT DOOR. Health Room News Influenza, also known as the flu, is a serious illness that affects people of all ages. The most effective way to prevent getting the flu is through the flu vaccination. This Fall, the St. Mary s County Health Department is offering flu clinics to all students in the local area. Forms were sent home on October 25 th regarding the dates and locations of the flu clinics as well as the Flu Clinic Consent Form. You can take your child(ren) to any of the local clinics detailed on the form and bring your Flu Clinic Consent Form with you. DO NOT SEND the Consent Form into school with your child. As we are entering cold and flu season, here are some reminders on what to do if your child is sick: If your child has a fever over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, is nauseated or ill, PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL. Your child must be fever free (without the use of fever reducing medications) for 24 hours before returning to school.

3 If your child is diagnosed with strep infection, Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, ringworm, impetigo, conjunctivitis (pink eye), please keep your child at home and call the school immediately. Your child will be required to stay at home per your Licensed Health care provider requirements to take a prescribed regimen of antibiotics or until deemed no longer infectious. A DOCTOR S NOTE IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO RETURN TO SCHOOL. o If your child exhibits any of the following symptoms, please keep them at home: o Diarrhea or vomiting, severe cough, yellowish, watery or red eyes, difficult or rapid breathing, severe headache, or live head lice When a child will be absent from school due to an illness, a parent is REQUIRED to call the school office with the nature of the illness. If you have any questions, please feel free to find this information on Page 10 of the School Handbook or call the school anytime. Totally 80's Auction/Social: Calling all volunteers...
