1 Annual Coaching Congress The Gymnastics Ontario Annual Coaching Congress weekend took place on Friday and Saturday, August 23 rd 24 th at East York Gymnastics Club. Over 400 coaches and 30 clinicians participated making this our largest turnout ever. The focus of this year s Congress was the change to new OCP rules, which were modeled after the Junior Olympic Program and are in effect as of September 1, Other sessions included, Club Management, Head Coach Sessions, Sport Injury Prevention and Judging and ODP. Thank you to WTC, our US Clinicians and to all WAG Ontario Clinicians who helped make this year s event possible. The Technical Bulletin/ Errata #1 has been circulated September 18 th and is in effect for ALL GO events. TIPS: Always refer back to the text in the Technical Rules and Regulations Any questions that cannot be answered in the Technical Rules and Regulation or Technical Bulleting/Erratas should be sent ODP Technical Rules and Regulations Section I (i.i) ODP Section will be updated circulate to clubs via . 2 Page 2 of 8 October Season: Getting Started GO Membership Registration: Clubs are required to register their athletes in ivr.net and provide payment to the Membership Services Coordinator (membership@ogf.com) within 15 days of the start of training. All athlete s levels can be changed without penalty up until the October 15 th, 2013 deadline. This year s Team Ontario Selection (formerly called Tour Selection) will be held on the November 15 17, 2013 weekend at Borden Gymnastics. This season this selection event will be for Team Ontario Selection and National Stream Cup. th 6 th Vault and Floor 5 th Bars and 4 th Beam Team Ontario Selection Level 6 9 (13+) will be using our new OCP rules and National Open (13+) will be using JO Level 10. National Stream Cup CPN and National Novice will be using the Canadian Models (August 2013). Please see the Team Ontario Memo for more information on rules. Registration forms have been circulated and posted on the website. The Registration deadline is October 17 th, pm. The Gymnastics Ontario office will be closed Monday October 14 th for the Thanksgiving weekend.

Club contacts are included in the registration forms. Athlete Draws Draft athlete draws will be communicated approximately one week prior to your qualifier and a final athlete draw will follow and be communicated two days before the qualifier.

Qualifiers continued Withdrawal, Level Change & Petition Process Those requiring forms for a Withdrawal Request, Athlete Level Change or Petition & Fit to Compete forms can find them at >Resources> Forms Petition Process for a Make Up qualifier and petition to Ontario Championships can be found in the Technical Rules and Regulations, Section C. Please remember requests will only be considered if the form is completed in full and submitted to the appropriate person and by the applicable deadlines. Coaching ID Cards Coaches should have an up to date ID. Coaches are required to show their coaching id card to be permitted on the floor at competitions. This season a coach must present their Coaching ID to gain access to the warm up and competition floor. In case of a lost, stolen or forgotten ID, coaches will be required to sign form number CP001 stating a minimum level 2 certification for verification. The host club registration desk will have this form available. For replacement Ids contact Education Coordinator to discuss options of acquiring a replacement ID or an exemption. To receive a Coaching ID card a coach must have the following: be a current Gymnastics Ontario Member completed online the Risk Management A and Respect in Sport B modules be a minimum of NCCP Level 2 Certified (Theory, Practical and Technical) have submitted a picture electronically to the office Please contact the Education Coordinator, Yuliana Korolyova, education@ogf.com or , 3 weeks prior to your competition to arrange for Coaching IDs. 5 Page 5 of 8 October 2013 Tour: Cancun Classic Athlete in the Level 7 to 9 (13+) and National Open categories will compete for a spot on the Tour Team. The selected athletes and coaches will be attending the Cancun Classic that is held in Cancun Mexico, on January 17 19, Details will be provided prior to Team Ontario Selection as well as after the event to qualified athletes. Celebrating 40 years as the voice of Gymnastics Ontario 34 athletes and 57 Coaches participated in this year s Level 5 9 Developmental Camp, which was held, Sunday, August 25 th, 2013 at East York Gymnastics. Thank you to East York, Paula Johnson, Kathy Hubbard, our US Clinicians (Steve Arkell, Sue Arkell, Marvin Sharp, John Geddert) and Ontario s Joel Skinner was a clinician for Plyometric Ontario Championships April 3 6, 2013 ROSE CITY GYMNASTICS National Stream Cup Ontario will be participating in National Stream Cup this Season, being held in Montreal Quebec for the weekend of January 17 19, The selection meets for this event will be held at the Team Ontario Selection November 15 17, Registration is due October 17 th, 2013, 4pm. Bulletin #1 with more information will be communicated to the clubs as it becomes available. Level 1 4 Developmental Camps Planning is in the works for the Level 1 4 Training Camp in December. Information and registration forms will be sent to Clubs as soon as details have been finalized.
