They include dark green, red/orange, beans, starchy, and other vegetables. We offer all 5 of these subgroups in school. Encourage your child to try a variety from all of these subgroups at home, so they are also more likely to choose these healthy options at school! Events in the Area Friday, March 6, 2015 A Night in New York, New York at LHS You are cordially invited to share in a celebration of the theatre arts. Please join us for A Night in New York, New York - a fundraising gala event to benefit the theatre arts at Liberty High School. The event will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, from seven o clock to nine-thirty in the evening in the grand foyer of Liberty High School. The evening includes music and entertainment by current and past Liberty Theatre members and a basket raffle. Enjoy hors d oeuvres and mocktails by Island Expressions. If you live in the little league territory of Freemansburg or Bethlehem Township you can register your son or daughter for T-ball through our Senior Legion programs by visiting and clicking on the REGISTRATION news item. Registration will remain open for TBALL & Coach pitch (5 and 6) until March 7 th, for 7-12 year olds until March 1 st and for year olds until March 21 st. We are accepting four year olds for TBall for any player who turns four on or before May 15 th Wednesday, March 11, 2015 BASD Mini-THON Fundraising Event Come out to Moe's anytime on Wednesday, March 11th to help support the BASD Mini-THON. Saturday, March 14, 2015 Northeast Fundraiser 31 Bingo Kira from Northeast's Leaders Rock is having a 31 Bingo to benefit the Bethlehem Kidney Clinic patients. The event will be held on March 14, 2015 at Northeast Middle School in the cafeteria. Doors will open at 12 noon and the games begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door. 4 Saturday, March 14 Governor Wolf Fundraiser Cash Bingo will be held at Governor Wolf Elementary School located at 1920 Butztown Rd. in Bethlehem on Saturday, March 14 th starting at 1 pm. Saturday, March 14 Kira Willey and Friends Benefit Concert Friday, March 20, 2015 First Day of Spring Friday, March 20, 2015 Science Fun Night at East Hills Middle School Spring into Science - Celebrate the first day of Spring at East Hills Middle School's fourth annual SCIENCE FUN NIGHT (SFN) from 5:30-8:30 PM. SFN is a free, familyoriented, event open to all members of the community. Dress like a bee, see live animals, make slime, or even sample ice cream from the famous liquid nitrogen room. 5 Saturday, March 21, 2015 FHS National Honor Society s Annual Easter Egg Hunt The Freedom High School chapter of the National Honor Society will be holding our annual Easter Egg Hunt for staff and their families on Saturday, March 21 on the Football Field at FHS starting at 10 AM. There will be two age groups: one for 4 years and under and a second for 5 to 10 years old. All you need to bring is a basket or bag for carrying your eggs. There is no fee whatsoever, but donations are gratefully accepted. In case of inclement weather, the Hunt will take place in the Main Lobby of FHS. 6 Saturday, March 28, 2015 FHS Softball Clinic Freedom will host a softball clinic on March 28. For more info or to register go to April BASD Student Art Show - A Colorful Experience: Art in the Public Schools Come visit the Bethlehem City Hall Rotunda Gallery during the month of April for our BASD student art show. The show will be on display from April 2 until April 28 during regular city hall hours. Please attend the opening reception on April 12, 2015, from 2-4 pm. This show will feature work by students from K-12. In the exhibit you will see but a small part of the wonderful body of artwork produced by the many children in our classrooms on a daily basis. This event is made possible with the help of the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission and the BASD art teachers. Saturday, April 11, 2015 BASD mini-thon This year s BASD mini-thon will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 10 am 10 pm at Liberty High School. Come and join the fun while supporting a great fundraiser. There will be something for everyone! Saturday, April 18, th Annual Kutztown Children s Literature Conference For more info and to register for this event, visit Saturday, April 18, Cops 'n' Kids Celebration of Reading... and the Arts and Sciences With the help of our entire community, the award-winning Cops 'n' Kids Children's Literacy Program has reached a remarkable milestone, distributing more than 625,000 free books thus far. To celebrate this accomplishment, and the children of our community, we invite you to join us (rain or shine) on Saturday, April 18, 2014 from 11 am-3 pm for a day of food, fun, family, crafts, entertainment, laughter--and, of course, literacy! The event will take place at 511 East Third Street. There will be an indoor and outdoor stage. This year we will also be saying "Happy Tenth Birthday" to the Northampton Community College Fowler Family Southside Center--the home of Cops 'n' Kids.
