2 One day Tarna went to a nice beach called Iguana Beach. So she went there with her parents. They went to the beach by car. In the car their parents said to Tarna: Tarna, be on your best behavior, because this beach is for grown-ups. Tarna said: OK mom and dad. While talking about the beach they arrive at the beach. Tarna and her parents grabbed the beach stuff and choose their own relaxing spot. Tarna was already ahead. She ran to explore the beach. 1

3 There were a lot of grown-ups and no children. She thought: Where should I go? First she thought, the bar. No, she said, too much yelling at the bar. Second she thought, the rocks. Yes. The rocks, a great place to explore at the beach, she said. Tarna ran to the rocks and explored. In the meanwhile as she was exploring the rocks, some iguanas came. 2

4 Tarna saw some leaves that they liked. She jumped to get the leaves in the tree. Then she gave the leaves to the iguanas. The iguanas did not eat the leaves right away, but they were just looking at her. Tarna thought, why are the iguanas not eating the leaves? Are they not hungry something like that or are they scared of me? Tarna saw the iguanas coming closer to the leaves that she gave them. Tarna said to the iguanas: Please eat the leaves. I am not a predator. They were eating the leaves. She smiled at the iguanas. Tarna gave them more and more leaves. She felt as happy as getting a new puppy. 3

Hey stranger, one of the iguanas said. Tarna shocked and looked at the iguanas. What the hack, a talking iguana, she said. Do not tell anyone that I am a talking iguana, said one of the iguanas.

5 Hey stranger, one of the iguanas said. Tarna shocked and looked at the iguanas. What the hack, a talking iguana, she said. Do not tell anyone that I am a talking iguana, said one of the iguanas. You did something for us. Can you do something for us again? Please. Of course, said Tarna. What is it? The iguana said: one of our family is iguananapped. You mean kid-napped, said Tarna. It does not matter. Go find my missing family. Ok, said Tarna. So she ran off to find their family. On the beach were thousands of people and that made it harder to find the missing family. Tarna was worrying about the kid-napped iguana. It felt for her like losing a dog on a highway. Next to the beach was a road. Maybe I can find the missing family there. Tarna ran to the road next to the beach. First she saw a truck. So she ran to the truck and saw a pile of dead animals. This reminded Tarna of seeing a picture of a pile of American bison skulls killed by the white Americans. 4

6 Further she saw a man with a knife in his hand and an iguana. She knew that was the missing family. Tarna ran to the man and yelled: Don t kill the iguana! She knew she had to be very careful with a man that was not good in his head and with a knife in his hand. So Tarna talked calmly to the man and said: Don t kill the iguana. It is fun. Why should I not kill him, the man said. Ok, she said, why would you kill this creature. If you were an iguana, would I kill you? You need to think in your life and be a good person in yourself. Think about war, think about cancer. You can change right now and help to be a good person to let the iguana go. You are right, said the man. I will let the iguana go right now. So the man put the iguana on the ground and the iguana ran to the rocks. Thank you for understanding, said Tarna. 5

7 Then the man buried the pile of dead animals. The man went to his truck and waved. Tarna waved back. She went to the rocks. The iguana said: Well done my friend. Thank you. Tarna, where are you? called her parents. Here I am. Oh honey, there you are. Are you Ok? asked her father. Let s go home. Wait, said Tarna. One of the iguanas asked: Can I go with you? No, I don t want gross iguanas in my house, said her mother. No, said Tarna, but I know you and one day I will see you. Maybe you have children and a wife and I know I will see you. And we will always have moments we will never forget. One hot day her parents decided to go to the beach. Tarna was excited to see the iguanas. She hugged them and fed them good and well and did everything with them. One day she became an iguana-biologist. The End. 77 6
