You tell us which days you'd like to come! Campers will practice trapeze, aerial rope and silks, feather-balancing, scarf-juggling, platespinning, tightwire, rolling globe, and acrobatics. A one-week program offered for children ages 5-7 Junior Camp returns with our one-week program specially designed for our younger campers with an emphasis on play and exploration in the exciting world of circus. Campers will practice trapeze, aerial rope and silks, feather-balancing, scarf-juggling, plate-spinning, tightwire, rolling globe, tumbling and obstacle courses. Camp will also include arts and crafts projects and rest time, as needed. Youth Camp Sessions Session 1: June Session 2: July 8 19 Session 3: July 22 August 2 Session 4: August 5 16 Session 5: August Curriculum: Youth will have a chance to work on trapeze, aerial rope, silks, juggling, unicycling, plate-spinning, diabolo, devil sticks, tightwire, rolling globe, rola-bola, clowning, tumbling and more! Plus: Dance and performance classes, student showtimes, lunchtimes on Circus Campus lawn, and co-operative games. Guest Artists: In each 2-week session, we invite professional circus performers and other guests to speak to the youth and sometimes perform for them. Guests have included several International Jugglers Association Champions, a sword-swallower, a sleight-of-hand magician, a circus historian, and a 20-year veteran performer of Ringling Bros. and the Big Apple Circus. We plan another full roster of exciting guests for End-of-Camp Shows: At the end of each two-week session, the youth will perform their very own Circus Show for friends, family and the general public. These shows will take place at 2:00pm on Fridays, June 28 th, July 19 th, August 2 nd, August 16 th, and August 30 th. Enrollment in Youth Camp Program each session is limited to 40 youth. Youth will have a great deal of individual attention with our staff of professional circus performers and teachers. 5 Advanced Youth Camp 12-18yrs Page 5 Advanced Youth Camp Sessions Solo, Duo, and Ensemble Acts Session 1: June Session 2: June Session 3: June Curriculum: In Advanced Camp we will spend the week preparing a solo, duo, or ensemble act for presentation to friends and family! After an acrobatic warm-up, students will be learning new skills and developing sequences in a discipline of their choice, and spending the afternoons developing their dance or theater skills. Students will be expected to work hard both with a coach and independently on technical and creative assignments in small groups, solos, and as a large group. We will spend some time each day refining our dance and theater skills as well, as they are critical parts of the development of any circus artist. Who should do Advanced Camp?: Advanced Camp is open to ages 12+ who are: - In PSCA s Preparatory Performance Program (P4) - Level 2 (or higher) Acrobatics/Aerials or any specialty class with an interest in working hard and developing a solo, duo, or ensemble act. - Have experience in gymnastics, cheer, circus, parkour or another discipline (by instructor permission only, adam@phillycircus.com). Enrollment in the Performance Intensive Program is limited to 24 participants. Kids will have a great deal of individual attention with our staff of professional circus performers and teachers. Youth must be at least 8 years old AND have completed Youth Aerials Level 3.
