1 BACKPACK NOTICE DECEMBER 18, 2009 Dear TCCS Family, This week s backpack will be the last of It s hard to believe how fast this year has passed by already. Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone thank you for a great 2009 and (in advance) for an even better 2010! Our annual Holiday Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 23 rd from 10:30-noon in the cafeteria. All students will be singing, and there will be some special numbers with small groups/solos. All are invited and encouraged to attend this fun musical celebration! Mr. Valente has included a tentative show schedule, which may or may not need to be updated before the performance. The cold weather is upon us. Please send children to school with warm jackets, hats, and gloves. As much as possible, we try to have recess outside (weather permitting of course). Children need fresh air and a break from being inside the building all day long; proper attire goes a long way in helping with this. Time is quickly running out on our rejuvenated Brick Campaign. The more orders we receive means more money (times two) for our school. An anonymous donor has agreed to match the first $10,000 of orders. The Cherrydale sales drive was quite a success this year. TCSCO wishes to thank all parents and students who participated and sold catalog items to support our school. Hearty congratulations to Elexie Marshall of for being this year's top seller! Elexie sold $869 worth of merchandise and is the winner of the Toys- R-Us gift cards. Way to go Elexie!!!! The winner of the Ipod Nano w/video will be announced tonight at the TCSCO Movie Night where the drawing will be held. Please look for a separate PDF from Nurse Tovo regarding a weight-loss camp for youngsters at Ramapo College. There is a reminder in this packet about tonight s TCSCO Movie Night as well as information from Mr. D about Spirit Week and (possibly) TCCS Summer Camp. Craig

TCCS ran camp for four years and had a great program, including arts and crafts, recreation, two days a week at Darlington County Park for swimming, barbeques, on-site entertainment, and just a lot of fun! Camp is staffed and run by the TCCS staff. Your children will know their counselors and their counselors will know them. We need to know the level of interest BEFORE we plan the summer. Camp would cost $250 per week, and we would run it for six weeks from July 6 th through August 14 th. Hours are 8:30 to 3:30. After care through 4 PM could be made available if there is sufficient interest. Please let us know ASAP of your interest thank you Name: Student(s): Weeks interested: check all that apply 7/6-7/9 7/19-7/23 8/3-8/7 7/12-7/16 7/26-7/30 8/10-8/14 I would be interested in aftercare. 6 12/18/09 Dear Parents, Our annual School Spirit Week at TCCS will take place once we get back from Holiday Break from January 4 th 8 th. Once again we are having a schoolwide competition to see which class has the most spirit. Every day that week has been assigned a special theme, so see the chart below to ensure your child is prepared. Mr. T and I will go around each day to every classroom to count how many children and teachers have participated. At the end of the week, I will total up the scores for each class and at the Pep Rally on Friday we will announce the 2010 School Spirit Week Champions. Ms. Alice s homeroom students are the reigning champions, and they are looking to keep the prestigious School Spirit Week trophy in their homeroom for another year! Friday, January 8 th is our annual TCCS Basketball Pep Rally which will take place at 2:20pm. The boys and girls basketball teams will be introduced, and we will get to see how much noise our new cafeteria can hold. After the Pep Rally, parents and students are invited to come cheer on the Tornadoes as they play the Alpine Rams in our first home game of the season at the Rodda Center. The girls game is at 4:00pm, and the boys game is directly after at 5:15pm. Show your school spirit and come cheer on the Tornadoes! Visit bergenyouthbasketball.org for schedules and directions by clicking on the TCCS Tornadoes logo.
