It is also about appreciating and looking after our environment. We can show respect by: Being fair Being kind Not saying or doing offensive things Looking after our school and community N S2 / S3 PUPILS All S2 and S3 pupils going on the Italy Ski / Snowboard in February must attend a short meeting on Tuesday 30 th October at 1.50pm to collect a letter. SCHOOL SHOW ROCK OF AGES! The first rehearsal for the school show will take place on Thursday 1 st November from 3pm 4pm in the music department. Everyone who signed up should attend as we will be starting the first big musical number in preparation for the Christmas concert! Looking forward to seeing you all there. Rugby Festival The Ayrshire schools rugby festival has been rescheduled for Thursday 1 st November. Any pupils S1/2 & U16 s wishing to take part in a schools rugby Festival, please give your name to Miss McBride by Monday 29th th Oct Pupils that had previously shown interest in this event, please come down to PE to let Miss McBride know your availability for this fixture. S1/S2 Netball Tournament Anyone interested in participating in a S1/2 Netball Tournament on Monday 26 th November at Belmont Academy please see Mrs Miller Music Room 4 to sign up. J Sinclair F Dippie/ L Hunter L McBride E Miller Game Club - Halloween preview This Friday, 26th October we are playing Ultimate Werewolf, a massive card/role play game in which up to 48 players have to solve a mystery in a countryside town involving werewolves, full moons and witches. Everyone is welcome to participate and you can bring your packed lunch! Due to the nature of Ultimate Werewolf, this Friday only a small selection of the library games will be available to play." Scottish Youth Parliament Joining the Scottish Youth Parliament means you will be able to influence the decisions of government, parliament, local councils and lots more services like the police and NHS. Your role will be to help make sure young people in Scotland are not ignored by decision makers and that your view is heard. At a local and national level you will be supported in all you do and can have some very life changing opportunities in Scotland and abroad JP McCabe

2 You must be 14 by March 2019 to stand but everyone from S1 to S6 will be able to vote. Do you know who Tintin is? The writer of the Hobbit? Books are your daily food? Would you like to prove that you are the best, competing against all the schools in West Scotland? And have a chance to win a visit to Hobbiton in New Zealand? The library is looking for 3 more people to form a second team to participate to Kids Lit Quiz. If you would like to know more and express your interest, come to the library TODAY Thursday 25 th October, after school 3.00 PM. We are having a meeting to talk about the quiz. GEOGRAPHICAL FILM CLUB Come along to the Geographical Film Club on the last Friday of every month, starting Friday 28 th of September. Bring your lunch to Social Studies 3 and watch some dramatic and inspirational films about adventures, landscapes and issues around the world. HOCKEY CLUB REMINDER Hockey club is on Thursday after school (3:50PM 4PM). SCHOOL NETBALL TRAINING Any S1- S6 pupils who would like to play a game of Netball please come along to School Netball Training on Wednesdays after school 3-4pm. Beginners most welcome. E Miller Netball Every Wednesday lunchtime there is a meeting for all girls participating in the Ayrshire Schools Netball League to discuss tactics for the forthcoming matches. 4 NN A McGoldrick COMMUNITY S1-S6 LGBT GROUP Community will start today in the library 3:50pm 5:00pm. All LGBT pupils and supporters/allies are welcome, even if you do not identify as LGB or T. The group meets every Tuesday 3:50pm -5:00pm ECO CLUB MEETING Do you care about environmental issues? Want to do something about it? Come and join Eco club. Meeting every Monday at lunchtime in Science 7. Bring your lunch along. If you want more details see Mrs Clark in Science 7 or Miss Irvine in SS4 New and old members welcome- all year groups. RUGBY CLUB S1-6 Rugby clubs starts on Wednesday after school pm on the astro. Come along on Wednesday to join the first training night. JUNIOR CHOIR S1 and S2 Junior Choir will start up Monday at lunchtime in Music Room 2. Feel free to bring your lunch along. Rehearsal will start at 1:35pm. New members always welcome. Come to unwind, make new friends and play fantastic games in the library! Every Friday at lunch time we are playing board games like Munchkin, Taboo, Fluxx, Zombies and many, many more! Moreover, Friday 7 th September, Ross from Unboxed Game Café is going to join us and bring some new games to try. Every Friday, during Lunch time in the library. You can bring your lunch! There will be no general access during these times. WRITING CLUB To S1 and S2. The library wants you! We are starting a rebellious writing club on Thursday at Lunch time! Come up with ideas about what is rebellion for you, and bring any ideas for a short story you would like to write! A creative writing instructor is coming to help us making our writing even more rebellious, helping us to write a captivating piece. There will be no general access during these events. POST-CARD CLUB The International Captains are starting a Post-Card Club - the club is open to all pupils across the school. You will write short messages and send postcards to young people in Greece, Italy, France and many other countries in Europe and beyond.
