FOOTBALL/CHEER CCMF League belongs to the Mountain League to include other teams from Cambria Heights, Penn Cambria, Johnstown, Westmont, Richland, and Somerset. Our Bylaws and game play are based off of those requirements and bylaws from the Mountain League. Questions on Mountain League may be found in the bylaws located on website. MINIS The Mini teams are a newer program. Minis consist of new 5 year old, Kindergarten players. This program is to assist in better development of players at a younger age and provide a safe environment, while introducing new parents and players to the league. The Minis are treated like every other football team in the league, with the exceptions that they will play first games every week end at the Home field against other mini team members. Minis will be considered instructional, with no time limits on plays or restrictions on positions. Players will learn football fundamentals, plays and positions and be prepared for the following season to play against other teams that may be older or more experienced. Football Players must wear a mouth guard. Cheerleaders will also learn basic skills and cheers. They will follow the same registration and game schedules.
2 FLAG Flag consists of teams grades 1-2. Flag is also considered instructional. The flag teams play both at home and away against other teams within the same age groups. There are NO weight limits for Flag. Although weight limits do apply to who may carry/run the ball. Teams follow a clock and rules of play. Football Players must wear a mouth guard. Cheerleaders will learn intermediate beginner skills and continue to learn skills based on a progression process of experience. Cheerleaders follow the same registration and game schedules. TACKLE Tackle teams consist of 3 rd grade to 6 th grade and play each grade. Tackle teams are fully padded and play full contact. The teams play both at home and away against other teams in the same grade group. Cheerleaders will continue to learn skills based on a progression process of experience. Cheerleaders follow the same registration and game schedules. Competitive Cheer Competitive cheer is a new program. This is offered to 3 rd, 4 th, 5 th and 6 th grade cheerleaders who have an interest in learning competitive cheer for a youth/rec/school. This is NOT an all star team. Cheerleaders will have additional fundraisers to cover costs of competitions, be required to attend practices and competitions from July to March. This is an additional activity and commitment is needed to participate. There is a limited number of spots available. Tips Friendly tips for you and your child.. 1. Mouth guards must be worn! Buy more than one and carry an extra all the time. 2. Buy a bag for your child to keep all belongings in so nothing is forgotten! 3. Shoes are to be hard molded cleats or sneakers. Cheer sneakers must be white. 4. You must have fundraiser money in to play!!!! Get it in ASAP so you don t forget! 5. Please remember to bring all issues to the attention of the league board or it cannot be fixed. FUNDRAISER All fundraisers must be completed in order to participate. They can be given to a coach, board member or mailed. Cheerleaders do 2 fundraisers during a season. Competitive Cheer has additional ones.
3 CONCESSION All parents will be assigned a concession/field day at a home game. If you are unable to work it you must find a replacement. All volunteers for that day must check in at the concession to initial off they have worked. LEAGUE RULES All league rules can be found on the website, bylaws and codes of conduct. If you should ever have a question please ask. MEETINGS Monthly board meetings are held and open to all parents/coaches. Meetings are normally held the second Thursday of the month at 730pm. The actual date, time, and place will be advertised on Facebook and our websites. It is beneficial for the league and your children to attend the meetings. COACHES Interested coaches have a list of coach information. Once the coaches and advisors are selected for the upcoming season, we will provide the names and phone numbers of each including the teams. Volunteers for these positions are greatly appreciated. Please contact a board member if interested. PRACTICES/GAMES CCMF board works with the Mainline Board to schedule practice start dates and games with the other schools. Practices normally begin with PIAA regulations in August. The league may offer camps/events before the start date. The board and coaches designate practice times and the Mountain league creates the game schedule of all schools. Coaches will notify you when all dates will begin.
