4 Rules and Description 1. DEBATE Only in English Time duration per participant for the prelims- 3 mins Time duration per participant for the finals - 5 mins Lots will be taken for a particular topic to decide who is FOR and AGAINST. 2. CREATIVE WRITING In five Languages Topic will be given on the Spot Time duration is one hour Writing Paper will be provided. 3. QUIZ Duration is two hours. 6 teams on stage for finals Each team comprises 3 members Written quiz prelims will be held in advance. 4. ELOCUTION Topic will be given 24 hours in advance. Time duration is 5 minutes for finals (90 seconds for prelims) 5. POSTER MAKING Students have to bring their own laptops Theme will be given on the spot Time limit: 90 minutes 6. POETRY WRITING Individual event. Duration is one hour. Theme will be given on spot. Direct final competition will be held on the scheduled date. FINE ART 7.RANGOLI This is an individual event. Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes 3 ft X 3 ft space will be provided Only color powder should be used; salt is banned. Participants should bring the necessary material. Theme will be given on the spot.
5 8.PENCIL SKETCHING Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes Charts will be provided to the participants Participants should bring their own drawing tools. Theme will be given on the spot. 9.ON THE SPOT PHOTOGRAPHY WITH CAPTION Participants will be given 3 hours to shoot and submit the soft copy in a pen drive. Each Participant may submit a maximum of 5 entries. Mobile Cameras are not allowed. Participants should format the camera in the given venue before they start shooting. Participants have to bring their own digital camera of not more than 12 Mega Pixel. The participant has to capture photographs on the theme announced on the spot by the judges. No mixing, matching or morphing of photographs will be permitted. Software such as Photoshop, etc., for enhancing images is not permitted. Judging criteria: Digital images are evaluated on the basis of (i) IMPACT (ii) COMPOSITION (iii) TECHNICAL QUALITY and (iv) SUITABILITY for the specific theme. 10.CLAY MODELLING Participants have to bring their own tools Clay will be provided Theme will be provided on the spot 11.ON THE SPOT PAINTING Duration is 2 hours and thirty minutes A2 sheets will be provided to the Participants. Participants should bring their own painting tools Theme will be given on the spot 12.ART FROM WASTE Individual event. Duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes. For arrangements, space will be provided. The topic will be given on the spot. Material should be brought by the participants themselves.
6 13.COOKING WITHOUT FIRE AND WIRE Two members per team. Duration: 2 hours Minimum three items can be prepared Fresh ingredients could be brought by the participant Participants should bring the necessary ingredients. For eg creative sandwiches, sprouts salads, chats etc. 14.MEHANDI This is an individual event. Duration: 2 hours Participant if a girl can bring another girl friend to design on her hand. Participants should bring the necessary material. It can be black/red/arabic mehandi etc. THEATRE 15.SKIT Skit play in five languages - English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu may be presented; but all the plays will be evaluated together. Duration is 15 minutes Maximum Number of Participants: 8 on stage Script Submission : MIME Duration is 5 minutes Maximum of 6 members per team Story Board/Synopsis to be submitted by the fixed date No pre-recorded conversations & Face Painting is a must Music should not be dominant/jarring Script Submission : SHORT FILM MAKING Maximum duration for short film is 10 minutes. The film can be shot in any language; if in a vernacular, English subtitles are mandatory. The film should be shot inside the campus. The synopsis should get prior approval from the Dept. of Students Welfare. Permission for shooting to be obtained from the Dept. of Students Welfare. Last date for script submission: 22 nd December,2017(via Link) Shortlisted scripts will be allowed for final filming. The video format should be.avi or. Mpeg. Submission date: January 04, MONOACTING Prelims time limit: maximum 3 minutes Finals Time Limit: 3 6 minutes

Time duration is 5 minutes (performance :2mins) Prelims will be held on specified dates MUSIC AND DANCE 20.CLASSICAL VOCAL SOLO(CARNATIC / HINDUSTANI): Duration of performance, including set up time is 10 minutes Maximum set up time allowed is 5 minutes. Maximum number of accompanists is 2. (They need not be from the same House. However Songs in Carnatic / Hindustani music style may be presented. Film songs are not allowed. 21.LIGHT VOCAL SOLO Duration of performance is 4 to 8 minutes, including set up time. Maximum Set up time allowed is 2 minutes. Maximum number of accompanists is 2.(They need not be from the same House. However Participants must bring their own instruments. Lyrics of the song must be decent and preserve the overall decorum. Should get prior approval of the songs if the participant is selected in prelims. 22.WESTERN VOCAL SOLO: Duration is 4 to 8 minutes, including set up time. Maximum set up time allowed is 2 minutes. Maximum number of accompanists is 2. (They need not be from the same House. However Language of the song shall be only in English. Lyrics must be decent and must preserve the overall decorum. Should get prior approval of the songs if the participant is selected in prelims. 23.INSTRUMENTAL PERCUSSION SOLO: Duration of the performance is 10 minutes, including set up time. Maximum set up time allowed is 5 minutes. Maximum number of accompanists is 2. (They need not be from the same House. However Participants must bring their own instruments. Presentation may be in Carnatic / Hindustani Style.
8 24.INSTRUMENTAL NON-PERCUSSION SOLO: Duration of the performance is 10 minutes including set up time. Maximum set up time allowed is 5 minutes. Maximum number of accompanists is 2. (They need not be from the same House. However Participants to bring their own instruments. Presentation may be in Carnatic / Hindustani / Western Style. 25.GROUP INSTRUMENTAL: Duration of the performance is 10 minutes including set up time. Maximum set up time allowed is 5 minutes. Maximum number of participants 6. (They have to be from the same House. Swapping other talents from other house is not allowed and if found will be disqualified) Participants to bring their own instruments. Presentation may be in Carnatic / Hindustani /fusion /jugalbandi etc 26.GROUP SONG(INDIAN): Duration is 7 minutes, including set up time. Maximum set up time allowed is 2 minutes. A team may present a maximum of two full songs, unless a medley is presented. Songs may be folk or patriotic. Songs may be in any regional language. Maximum number of singers and accompanists shall be 9. Minimum No. of Vocalists shall be 2 from the same house. Participants must bring their own instruments. Should get prior approval of the songs if the group is selected in prelims. 27.GROUP SONG(WESTERN): Duration of the performance is 7 minutes, including setup time Maximum set up time allowed is 2 minutes. Songs must be in English. Lyrics must be decent and preserve the overall decorum. Maximum number of singers and accompanists shall not exceed 9. Participants must bring their own instruments. 28.CLASSICAL SOLO DANCE Duration is 10 minutes. Maximum three accompanists are permissible. Props and stage settings are allowed but no additional time for set up will be given. Soft copy of the song should be submitted at the time of prelims. Judges decision is final.
9 29.SPLIT SYNC DANCE Two members per team Time limit 3 5 minutes A screen will be placed between the two dancers Judging is based on the synchronicity and innovation of the dance moves Free style 30. GROUP DANCE(THEMED) Duration is 10 minutes. Maximum number of participants is 10, minimum 4. Each student can perform only in one group. Props and stage settings are allowed but no additional time for set up will be given. Vulgarity on stage will lead to disqualification. A copy of the song(s) used for the entire performance should be submitted at the time of Prelims. Theme will be announced. Judges decision is final. INFORMALS 31.BEG BORROW STEAL Two members per team A list of items will be given at the start of the event The team which brings the highest number of items in one hour wins 32.GROUPFIE MANIA Team must consist of more than 4 members Team with attractive and innovative groupfie wins.
