Tomah Middle School Tennis Team Takes 3rd in Regional Conference By Sabin The Middle School Girls Tennis Team fell short of 2nd place by only four points in their regional conference. Being a part of the tennis team really expands your mind (and your muscles) to having good sportsmanship. The Top 10 or varsity from the team will compete in conference. Where you can play up to four matches. Being a tennis player lets me be a single player. Yet I m still on a team with the support from the team atmosphere, says Destiny, grade 8, Number One Singles. But, just because you aren t on varsity doesn t mean you re bad. Being on varsity means you work hard and learn fast and try to get as good as you can. You don t ever reach a great. You just keep going, the only person you have to worry about beating is yourself. TMS Girls will keep going strong and the 8th graders will persevere into THS Tennis. It s still fun, Exhibition player Rylee says. You get to be with your friends and you get to play a contact sport, kinda, without having to push people around. 3
Tomah T-Wolves close their Football Season By Jaden The 8th grade Tomah T-Wolves ended their season with record and the 7th grade ended their season with a 0-4 record.. The T-Wolves are 8th graders and practice with the 7th graders. One of the closest games was the Holmen game. Landen, a Running Back said, If we got the two point conversion we could of tide the game. The Sparta game was one of the easiest games we played that year. Harrison, who played Safety said, The Sparta game was a very tough game and our team tried very hard to take the lead, but we still ended up in a tie. 4
Tomah Youth U13-U14 Soccer By Natalie Tomah Middle School Gymnastics By Rebecca The team ended their season, making it to playoffs ending in a loss to Holmen. We didn t make it to the championship because of many injuries throughout the season. However, it was a very good season. Zachariah has been playing soccer sense the age of three. My favorite part of playing soccer is scoring goals, I made six this year. The team was a mix of girls from age twelve to fourteen. The next season starts on April first. The first gymnastics meet of the season is on January 29. The practices have been fun but some girls like to mess around. Some girls are very hard workers and get to compete. Kaylee enjoys gymnastics because it is challenging and it is fun. Getting injured in gymnastics is not fun she said. The gymnastics team is a mix of 6-8 grade girls. 5
Two Stars to the Right and Straight on till Morning By: Emmalyn Students at the TMS performed the musical Peter Pan Jr. I chose this musical because it is a classic fairy tale and kids grew up with many variations. There was the disney cartoon version, the original Broadway, 1929 version where Peter Pan was played by the female actress Mary Martin. Now there is the live action. I thought it would it would be fun to bring that story to life at the Tomah Middle School, says Lisa McCormick, the musical director. They have been practicing for about 2-3 months working hard at learning their lines and dances. On some Saturdays and Sundays, 6
adults and kids came into the Tomah High School and build the set. Not in my wildest dreams did I think that I would get the main role, I m honored to be Peter Pan! exclaimed Elle. If you want to come to the show it is December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The 1st and 2nd times are at 7:00 pm. On the 3rd it is at 2:00 pm. Tickets are at the front entrance. Adult admissions are $5 and $3 for seniors and students. The show is about an hour long. the whole family. At the end of the show you can even meet the cast. They are a very lively bunch. You will really enjoy the show and it is fun for 7
