Mr. Creighton Bryan, Assistant Principal January 27, 2017 News From the Principals and PTA UIL Academic Competitions: Students participating in UIL need to report to Draper Intermediate School by 4:00pm on February 2nd. The awards ceremony will be held at WHS in the auditorium at approximately 7:15pm. Please arrive to WHS by 7:00pm. for the awards ceremony. (UIL Ready Writing will be held on Feb. 1 during the school day at each intermediate campus. Ready Writing awards will be given on Feb. 2nd at the awards ceremony at WHS.) Grade 5 Student-Led Conferences: Our second round of Student-Led Conference for grade five will be held on the following dates. Conferences will be from 8:30-9:00am. Students will share Checkpoint data, middle of the year MAPS assessment data, and the action plans that have been developed to help them finish the school year on a successful note. February 9 : Columbia and Cornell February 1o: Brown and Yale Grade 6 Students: Do you want to be a McMillan cheerleader or mascot? There is a mandatory informational (parent and student) meeting prior to tryouts. In order for your child to tryout for Jr. High Cheerleading at MJHS, CJHS or BJHS you must attend. The meeting is February 7 th at Cooper Jr. High Library at 7:00pm. Tryouts are Friday, March 3rd at MJHS. Father-Daughter Dance: Our Davis Father Daughter Dance will be Friday, Feb 10th from 6:00-8:00 at Davis. Girls may bring their dad, grandfather, uncle or significant role model. Students must attend Davis. Cost is $10 per family. Dinner will be served and a DJ will be playing tunes! Please fill out the attached form (RSVP) and send in with $10 so we can order enough food. Moms- don't worry! We will have a Mother Son Mega Game Night coming up soon! Coke & Box Top Rewards: We are combining a box top and coke rewards contest. The University that has the most wins a free jean/t-shirt dress day! Simply send the coke tops and box tops in with your students. PTA Membership: PTA is hosting another fun night for our PTA Student Members. We will have a Neon Party on January 27th from 6:30-8:00. If your Davis student is a PTA Member, it's free! If they are not a PTA Student Member, you can join them that night for only $8.00 and they can join in on the fun. We'll have a DJ for dancing and lots of neon! Davis Parents, it s time for some friendly competition between the Girls and the Boys! Calling all players to the field.students, parents, grandparents, Aunt s, Uncle s, community members anyone is welcome to back the future and support our children and school to join the competition and become a member! By joining the PTA you are donating to help sponsor events, help purchase items for the school, and much much more! The team that has the most members sign up during this time will win a Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae Party! You may fill out the attached form or you can join at select Wylie ISD and the Davis Intermediate. Student Members are also on Mrs. Rudolph s PTA Student Advisory Council. They will have meetings with Mrs. Rudolph and get to do cool things like vote on the best pumpkin for the pumpkin contest. We will also host 3 more events this year exclusively for student members only. Have your student come join the fun and get more involved. Birthday Celebrations: Did you know that you can celebrate your child s birthday on the Davis marquee? You can fill out the attached form or go to the link on the Davis website. Cost is only $10.
