1 FROM THE DESK OF MRS. LA SALLE It is in giving that we receive October 9, 2018 Dear Parents: I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Due to the weather being uncooperative, we needed to cancel Barktoberfest last Thursday. We have rescheduled the event for tomorrow evening from 5:00-6:00 p.m. I know this is short notice, but it looks like tomorrow is the best weather day of the week. Please see the flyer in this packet. Our teachers learned how to administer CPR last Friday during their Professional Day. They also learned AED administration. Many thanks to Michael McCabe who sent us an excellent trainer. The Second Grade Reconciliation Enrollment Ceremony was held this morning. Please pray for our students as they prepare for this very important Sacrament. We are looking for Alumni! Please contact me if you are an alumni or send me contact information for SMS graduates. 15 IT S BAAAAACK! Join us this year on Halloween for our SECOND ANNUAL ST MARY S HALLOWEEN TRUNK OR TREAT! The event will be held in the St. Mary s Parking lot within the roped off area used for recess. The parade starts at 1:30 and is immediately followed by the Trunk or Treat. What is a TRUNK OR TREAT EVENT? A TRUNK OR TREAT is an event where parents park their cars, open their trunks and students go car to car Trick or Treating! Parents are encouraged to decorate their cars, play Halloween music and even dress up themselves! We have a limited number of spaces so participation will be on a first come, first served basis. This year we have enough space for 22 cars to participate. Parents can join together and decorate a car so everyone who wants to can participate. Participating cars should arrive at the parking lot by 12:30pm to park and decorate. What about the candy??? We ask that each student bring in new, unopened bags of at least 150 pieces of candy that will be distributed to the cars on the day of the event. Remember we are now a NUT FREE school so please choose your candy carefully. Any leftover candy will be donated to OPERATION GRATITUDE which sends Care Packages to our soldiers deployed overseas. We want this to be fun for all so go all out with your decorations and costumes! Everyone is invited to come cheer on the children and enjoy the parade... parents, siblings, aunts and uncles! If you would like to participate please fill out the online signup sheet to reserve a parking PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION YOU ARE NOT SIGNED UP. Please be sure to sign up no later than Monday, October 22 nd. Students should bring in their bag of candy by Monday, October 22 nd. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Anthony
